Great spar! Always great specials and fresh produce. The bakery is above the typical spar and always has a great deal of baked delights on sale. The freshest, made-in-store, pizzas are some of the best in the area and always a winner. With a lovely coffee shop bringing the whole shopping experience to a next level. Spar is in tip top shape always clean and staff are friendly. Probably the only spar that makes use of all their tills as opposed to other spars that have 10 tills and 3 staff. So everything flows in the shop. Will continue to drive out of my way from cape town to stellenbosch(home) to get all I need here. Well done and highly recommended

Waited long in queue for Christmas plate. When finally got in front, most of the vegetables and gamon was finished. So we had to take vegetables that most of us do not eat. They gave us the laste gamon and wrapped the plates. When we got home, we saw that they swopped all of our plates with someone elses' that did not have gamon. There is only beef in the plates. So we paid R120 per plate with less food and not even our plates.

Wow! Great deli. Also small coffee shop. Good service at the tills. Hmm pancakes and donuts, I may become a frequent shopper here. Well done Spar.

Shocking customer service. Placed an order from kitchen... Manageress tells us the food will be ready for collection at 4pm. Arrive at 4.10pm only for kitchen to tell me food will be ready at 5.30pm. So now my petrol is wasted and I have a hungry family at home. Manageress then says sorry but there's nothing she can do no she did not know the food won't be ready at 4pm. Seriously?

Very bad service. we bought 2 pockets of potatoes on the 24th of last month like we always do and when we opened the second pocket of potatoes to use, it was totally vrot. the first pocket only had about 4 bad ones in which we had sorted out. We contacted spar on the 8/12/2022 to inform them of the matter and asked if it was possible just to replace the pocket of bad potatoes and the manager of the fruit and veg section said NO. We have never experienced such disgusting service from Cape Gate spar. We were regular shoppers at spar and now we will not recommend this spar anymore.

Great savings, regularly purchase monthly utilities which rand for rand is cheaper than some big retail stores. Worth browsing through meat and fresh produce regularly, comparing prices. Friendly hands on Manager, takes to heart what clients say. Try and meet demand in a number of ways. Sit down restaurant a sure winner. Eat first, shop then. Certainly competition for freshly produce sales on a regular basis. I need to comment that This is one of the few shops that absorbed the pandemic, high food prices and increasing interest rates. Food and home amenity prices are still decreasing as time goes by. To the Manager and staff, well done and all effort put into ensuring that the client is put first.*****service.

Cannot believe the price of your products in comparison to other stores in the area. I don’t shop here often and did a quick comparison revealing your store is 35%+ more expensive on average to products I bought today. That’s the last straw, will not be supporting you guys anymore. I am flawed at how expensive you guys are relative to your competitors!

Every you want a breakfast, lunch or even dinner go to the Spar BeanTree, absolutely wonderful, bit limited seating, but makes wonders of beacon, chips, egg (anyway you like) and coffee (latte to filtered). The best was the good pricing for the portion and quality.

Nice friendly staff and good value for money at there coffee shop

Be very careful when using a card to pay here. Happened for the second time recently that I paid but had to leave the store without my goods. They say the payment didn't go through but it has already been deducted from my account. Also said it would be automatically be refunded last time and it wasn't. I eventually got a refund by lodging a dispute with my bank but that took time. Last time they depleted my credit card by trying multiple times and I incurred bank charges which were never refunded. Used to be very convenient to shop here but I will be very hesitant to now as I don't carry cash anymore.

Staff are excellent. Always smiling and friendly. Despite retail hours and cold temperatures, always willing to help, friendly, helpful, and kind. I believe it's a great reflection on the staff and especially the management of this branch as leadership is experienced through the troops. A huge variety of products and lines are always available. Options, variety, and choice are truly the essence of supermarket shopping and grocery and household management. Lots of parking available as well. Thank you Spar.

SUPERSPAR Cape Gate lifestyle center staff are always helpful and friendly. The vegetables are fresh and the bakery bakes delicious breads. I would love to see more Vegan food options on available to purchase. Thank you for making shopping a pleasure.

Jane the manager is so unprofessional and rude at the store when pricing is incorrect in their store they refuse to give the price for their mistake she will touch you and speak down to you as if you are a kid. Very unprofessional and rude customer service.

Always a pleasure to shop there. Lots of parking, including wheelchair parking areas. From your entrance to exit you receive friendly and great service. It remains my favourite Spar ... by far!

Not a single loaf of bread on the shelf; prices noticeably higher than Checkers; staff at the tills gives you a hazy half asleep look…not worth it unfortunately; big great Checkers just across the street
