Stunning architecture, art work and extravaganze. These churches are steeped in history and there's a sense of being a very small individual walking through a building that's seen millions of worshippers in it's time. Visitors are welcomed here. The architecture is superb, I do, however, struggle with such decadence, such shows of extravaganze and money and power/control over ordinary peoples ... surely faith doesn't require such materialistic flamboyance - my opinion only - this is an amazing place to visit.

Basilica of St. Francis is a medium size, Gothic style church that's known mostly for the Art-Noveau decorations designed and executed by Krakow's polymath artist Stanislaw Wyspiański. His works inside include the stained glass windows, and frescoes that decorate the entire church. Designed and executed by Wyspiański the decorations were a monumental undertaking, and one that truly needs to be witnessed. The murals are quite unique as are the stained-glass windows. There is also a copy of the Turin Shroud which is housed and on display in one of the side chapels. Entrance to the church is free.

The interior of the church is magnificent! It is truly beautiful and it is free! It is quite and peaceful. The only problem I had was the doors! I could not open the door to get in or out!

Not the most impressive church from outside, however dont miss the colourful stained glass, specially the one on the main entrance and the cloister. At the moment they are renovating the main altar/ apse so we couldn’t see some of the other beautiful stained glasses. The church is also nicely decorated with flowers painted on the walls.

Beautiful Church built by the Franciscans, famous for its beautiful Wyspianski stained glass windows, very interesting to visit, in the last seats on the left you can see some plaques with writings indicating that Pope John Paul II sat in those places to pray. The monument at the entrance is Cardinal Adam Stefan, Archbishop of Krakow who fought against the Nazis in WWII.

Such a beautiful pace with impressive stained glass windows. Unfortunately, a bigger part of the basilica was under reconstruction

This place is unbelievable. The stain glass and the paintings by Stanislaw Wyspianski are out of this world. I have never seen anything like it. I don't understand why the Wikipedia page talks about the copy of the shroud of Turin and not a word of this amazing artist. By all means if you stop by Krakow, this is a must see.

My favourite church in Kraków thanks to Wyspiański wall paintings. They are outstanding, overwhelming, jaw droppingly beautiful. At the same time over the top but also pure and simple thanks to the repetition of some of the motives.

Beautiful basilica with breathtaking decor. The intricate paintings and stunningly carved religious figurines is something quote spectacular. Everywhere you look, there is something equally new, beautiful and awe inspiring.

One of the most amazing place in Krakow. When you get halfway through and you want to turn around, your knees will bend on their own.

Very interesting spiritual place. The stained glass was very unique. It was quiet when I visited. There is a main door and a smaller side door. They ask for no visitors/tourists during Mass times.

Very nice gothic church, with an abundance of vibrant stained glass windows. There is no lighting inside, which shows of the windows, making it quite beautiful. Free access. I recommend it.

I would recommend this place as a prayer place if you're living here. It is a sanctuary, where you can have intimacy. There is also great singing during the Triduum evenings, and sometimes concerts. Other than that, the same lack of anointing of the Spirit and misogynism as everywhere in the local CC, so I wouldn't encourage participating in liturgy.

Beautiful basilica with really nice stained glass work of “God the Father”. Really nice details all round with and interplay between light and dark.

Beautiful church in the heart of the old town. Stay around for the trumpeter who plays for the tower. Plenty to see on the inside of the church as well.

Fine to pop in, nothing special. But stained glass of Moses is lovely. Was there all of 5 min.

This is the most beautiful church I have ever visited. Definetely worth your time. Amazing. And the glass vitrages (I dont know the word in english) by Wyspianski are out of this world. No enterance fee, not very crowded.

Very beautiful. The dark colouring in the paintings make it striking and unusual. The much plainer exterior may make you skip it but it is worth a visit.

Beautiful stained glass, and ornately decorated walls and ceilings. Free entry, and an interesting chapel dedicated to two modern missionaries killed while away.
