Perfect night! We enjoyed the folk music event (spoiler-- > it was pleasantly interactive) and all the dishes were delicious! We would surely recommend it!

I was told that I should see this place, but advised not to eat anything here. I was told that the food and service were awful. I got coffee with a shot of cherry vodka, and cheese cake with chocolate. The café is an old art café that's been open since the beginning of the 20th Century. I think the cheesecake was made then also! I couldn't taste a drop of cherry vodka in the coffee. It seemed I'd just been given coffee. I couldn't find any staff to ask them if a mistake had been made. Actually, we couldn't find any other customers. There was only us and the ghosts there. I found an old, short lady. She found the waitress that spoke English, and she said it was with the cherry vodka. The old lady got really grumpy, and wasn't happy I was asking to actually taste the vodka in my drink. She was going to charge me for an extra shot. Thankfully, the waitress was kind, and didn't. There are plenty of reviews of staff being miserable here, but if the old crone was the boss lady, I'm not surprised they don't enjoy their job. I'd still recommend a visit, but my friend's advice was right to be heeded. See it, have a look around at all the art work on the walls, maybe grab a quick drink, then leave asap!

We had a nice brunch at this restaurant. The Cesar salad was awesome . The desert - jello with fresh fruit and whip cream - as always incredible. Our waiter, JAKUB, was wonderful - very attentive and nice . JAKUB spoke perfect English ! Overall , our experience was great . The surroundings, decorations, atmosphere, music - high class ! Highly recommend!

We went before noon, the restaurant was empty, just one table finalizing their meals. When entering you might think the restaurant is out of business, not sure how it is at nights , but we went in and even asked if this was open or not. There were only 2 nice waiters, menu is very complete with plenty options; we just decided Pierogis mix and Potato pancake with Goulash , but then, when the food came, I noticed one of the pierogis on the plate was empty - no filling- just the pierogi dough and that was all... we told the waitress but she came back saying "sorry, we cannot do anything" So if you want to go and have empty pierogies and bad customer service... go there... otherwise, go to find a better Polish restaurant.

We had a fantastic evening here. Olivia was a superb and engaging hostess. There was an extensive menu, the food was delicious and arrived promptly. The interior is very pretty art noveau and the tables widely separated and clean. Good value too.

Although the café is located on a busy street and the weather was inclement on the day of our visit, we were alone when we walked in. We soon found out why. The cafe is really beautiful, the interior is unusual and has atmosphere, as well as the service being quick and helpful. Unfortunately the products on offer, whether cakes, tea or coffee are of very average quality at particularly high prices. In any other we would certainly get something better for less money. It's really a shame.

Is a popular café with history spanning over a hundred years. It is located at Floriańska Street in Kraków. The furniture and decoration of the place are incredible, you feel inside a castle or in one of those old movies. I only had a cup of coffee there, but I loved the service, the staff is very helpful.

Traditional polish restaurant with good food and a very nice and cozy atmosphere. Although the food could use just a little bit "more taste", the experience was very nice.

A beautiful interior welcomes you, and delicious pierogi follows shortly thereafter, along with entertainment in the form of traditional folk dance accompanied by accordion music. However, the waiter gave us a judging look as we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine, even though the did not serve it by the glass.

My girlfriend wanted to see this place as it’s the oldest cafe in town. Horrible service and cakes. I got a bite and it felt old and sour(cheesecake) . Was not even asked how it was to share my opinion. As other day get in take some pictures and leave.

Great place with amazing atmosphere. The walls are covered in painting and sketches and the story goes that these were given by aspiring artists to the restaurant as payment for their meals. The food is good too.

Pros: - Quite decent food - Not too costly - Nice art nouveau interior, space with a charm - You can pay by a card Cons: - The ingredients were rather cheap - The service was clumsy - Long waiting time (approx. 40 min for a breakfast)

Quite tasty food in an historic space, and reasonably priced, especially for a tourist area. The strange art from its heyday as an artists' cabaret is endlessly intriguing. Our server, too, was a delight.

Beetroot soup was good. BUT the two main dishes were awful...we ordered Pork with mushrooms & Mixed pierogi (polish dumplings / ravioli)! It's a shame as the decor is beautiful and at 7:30pm they had traditional dancers. Bad food turns it into a typical tourist trap.

Lovely atmosphere and feels very luxurious with the waiter taking your coat. Pretty slow service despite almost no people there. Waiter was very nice though.

The worst service ever!!! Just the worst! Slow wait(ers) totally not interested in their work /3 (wait)ers for 4 tables/. So if you have an eternity or more time - visit, otherwise just take a look at the interior and leave. Very disappointing.

Jama michalika folk night 10/10 Beetroot soup 7/10 Salad 6/10 Fruit salad 7/10 Jama michalika in Kraków old town says they are "the most famous polish artistic café with over 120 years of literary traditions." They host an interactive folk dancing night served alongside traditional dishes. They can cater to vegetarians my parents had tomato soup and spinach and cheese pierogi but for vegans it was another story although they did genuinely try with what they had. I'm not complaining it was still 100% worth going. I don't expect everyone in every culture to be prepared to cater to vegans. Honestly, the reviews for the folk night online were mixed so we were unsure. But it was so much fun! There were lots of silly jokes between the dancers and they had everyone up dancing and joining in with games between courses. They were able to serve me beetroot soup. And it made us all laugh as the waitress served it saying "Here is the Soup with nothing". She meant that there were no meat dumplings in it but she was not far wrong with the description. It was a very nice beetroot and vegetable broth! Then i was served a huge salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber. It was a generous portion but it didn't have any dressing on as I was a bit worried they would put cream/mayo on it. They did give me a very nice fruit salad for dessert. Some tinned and some fresh fruit mixed. Just watch out as they said they would serve it with jelly but I doubt the jelly would be vegan it usually has gelatine. It's absolutely still worth it for the show and the fun of the whole evening! We booked online and there was a dietary requirements box but if you can it would be better to explain in person if you are vegan or have a complicated need and go past the day before to book and discuss it so they have plenty of notice.

Walking into the restaurant was like going back in time, very plush, low lighting, and plenty of dark wood made up the ambience. Very nice meal though and the service was excellent.

Even if you prefer modern places, you should visit Jama and I am sure you will appreciate. Started at the end of 19. century is still running. I like to go there in the morning when there are few guests. Fine and inexpensive breakfasts. Enjoy!

Very cool atmosphere. Food was good, although you are not really supposed to eat here, just come in for a coffee and take a picture. One downside is that tour groups come walking through the middle of the dining area while you are eating

The show and meal very good but be careful of 'extras'. There is a cloakroom charge, whereas it is normally free to leave bags etc at tourist locations elsewhere. And even tho tap water is drinkable, we were charged 15 pln per jug - without being told - and had 2 jugs! So check about extras.

The venue, which dates back to 1905, is charming and old world. It feels like time travelling to an era of times gone by. It is cosy and beautifully decorated, and while enjoying traditional Polish cuisine, I would have loved to enjoy a cabaret performance.

We came into this restaurante because of the historical background. Unfortunatelly we went out very disapointed. Tablecloth was dirty, coffee not served as in menu (and cold), cake in menu is "done with local ingredients" but we get very bad looking piece of coconut cake, with pineapple from a can and chocolate dip from a bottle. Not Worth to spent over 60 pln for a coffee and a cake...

"Come on boys!" I cried. "Let's have our din-dins in here!" So in we went. When we were seated at a table I said to my mate sitting next to me, "Listen, do you want to know a secret? Do you promise not to tell? Whoa, oh, oh." "What are you on about?" he said. "Closer," I said leaning towards him, "let me whisper in your ear. Say the words you long to hear. I'm in love with you, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh..." "Eh?" "I've known a secret for a week or two. Nobody knows, just we two..." "Erm..." my mate said, "I think I might sit over there..."
