I took two tours (old town, jewish quarter) with Bart. Both tours were very informative, extensive and didn't left a question unanswered. Bart is a studied historian and enriches his explanations with a great sense of humor. Definitely recommend both tours!

We joined this tour by glorious accident. We had signed up for a different free walking tour company online. But then, we were late, and happened upon Bart holding an English flag with his orange umbrella in the Krakow Town Centre. How lucky we were! We enjoyed two more hours of interesting history artfully told with great passion. Even our children (ages 8 and 12) were captivated. We later saw our correct tour group pass us by and they looked bored and cold. We thanked our lucky stars. But, mostly, a big thanks to you, Bart, for sharing your storied history. We will be following Poland's progress over the next 20 years.

We booked the Jewish Quarter tour online and Chris was our guide. Chris was very friendly and detailed about sharing the history of the Jews in Krakow and even added some fun facts and personal stories of his family during the war to make it interesting and personal. Would recommend if you are looking for a walking tour in Krakow.

I took two tours, Krakow: Old Town and Wawel Castle & Krakow Jewish Quarter and Ghetto. Slavek was the guide for both tours and he was incredible. Very informative with Kraków’s history and historical sites. We covered a lot of the city on both tours. Although the history of the Jews is awful he delivered it in such a tasteful and respectful manner. I’ve been on at least 30 plus free city tours and he’s by far the best guide I’ve ever had. Highly recommend his tours.

Bartek was our guide for the "sin city" tour, and honestly, what an amazing time and experience. Bartek is incredibly knowledgeable about the city history and culture. Definitely worthy! Edit: We returned the next day for the Old Town tour, this time with Eugene. So pleased we did as it was, again, fantastic!

We stumbled upon this free tour by chance after a disappointing bike non-tour (booked a tour - got confirmation - came to a meeting point - no guide showed up) and decided to give it a try. The tour (Kraków old town) was one of the best we've ever had. Bart was very knowledgeable, passionate about Krakow and impressed us with humor, charisma and consequential storytelling. The tour is equally interesting for a history junkie or a person with near-zero knowledge of European history. We then decided to join for another tour (also led by Bart) focusing on Jewish history, which was also brilliant. Definitely recommended! In the end we were happy that our bike tour didn't take place :)

We took an old town tour of Krakow and the tour was both informative and fun. Our guide Slavek was nice, energetic and entertaining throughout the entire tour and I would recommend the tour for both adults and children.

Great tours, especially the old town with Bart. He gave us a good introduction to the city, combining solid historical knowledge with funny urban legends and personal experiences. We also did the Kazimierz tour with Chris and can recommend both.

We took the tour of the old town and Wawel with Mariano and it was a success. A wonderful guide who clearly has a lot of knowledge of the city and its history, the 2:30 hours that the tour lasted seemed short. He also gave us many recommendations for restaurants, bars and more in the city.

We randomly came across Matt giving a walking tour of Krakow. We expected to tag along for just a few minutes, but Matt was so fun and engaging we stayed for the whole tour. It seemed like that was the case for others as well. He was humorous and made the tour memorable for everyone. Could not recommend him more, he is incredibly knowledgeable of the city and more. Great time, and would easily do again with reservation.

A wonderfully beautiful city with friendly and relaxed people. We did the free walking tour in the old town and the next day in the Jewish Quarter. It was highly informative and we were thrilled with our guides Chris and Bart.

I did both the Old Town and the Jewish History tours with Krakow Explorers and would highly recommend them. I had Bartek as a guide for both tours, and his knowledge and passion shines through. The content is thoroughly engaging and I leave knowing a lot more about Krakow than when I arrived.

One of the best guided tours I had. Bart was an amazing guide! He told us many things about the history of the city and the country, legends and myths, funny stories. It was a very nice experience despite the cold weather. I totally recommend this tour and I wish I had more time in Krakow to join their other tours as well.

We went on the Jewish Quarter and former ghetto tour - Emily was our tour guide and she was absolutely fantastic. Lots of walking, talking, and sharing knowledge in the hot weather. She was so respectful and knowledgable. It’s clear she has a real passion and love for Krakow and it was really felt throughout the tour. Emily also has such a friendly, approachable manner! Thank you!

Enjoyed the fantastic tour today with Chris. He's an absolute expert on Krakow / Polish history and talks in a way that's very clear and engaging. Uncovered many spots that I would not have gone to and I would absolutely recommend. Made me even more a fan of Krakow 👊 Dziękuję

If you are looking for a (highly) professional, smart, interesting, exciting tour with a good portion of humor, deep talks and thoughts, and a lot of interesting insights, then book a tour with Bart! We had an unforgettable tour in a (former) Jewish Quarter in Krakow and left full of information, emotions and valuable input. Bart has a talent and passion to talk about history and shares his knowledge with joy and empathy! Thank you for this experience! And we are looking forward to meet you again, next time we are in Krakow!

I joined the Old Town tour. It is one of the best city tours I’ve had. Our tour guide, Bartek, is very knowledgable and humorous. I learnt a lot about not only the city but also Poland. The way he shared the stories was very interesting and easy to follow too. Highly recommend to join his tour.

Best deal in town for individual tourism. Absolutely friendly guide, sense of humour and very clear pronunciation in English. He told us everything about the history of town in a simple way and he made a lot of jokes so it was a really pleasure tour. I strongly recommend it! Thank you Krakow Explorers!!!

Eugene was my guide for the Old Town tour! He was so informative and entertaining and i learned so much without even realizing it! As a retired teacher, I know how difficult it is to keep the attention of people Eugene, however, kept the group engaged as well as anticipating what the next nugget of information he was going to share with us. I enjoyed the tour so much I came back that afternoon for the Jewish Quarter tour with Eugene. Eugene was fantastic on that tour as well so I came back two days later for the Under the Regimes tour. This company is committed to providing excellent, informative tours and I would recommend them highly to anyone traveling to Krakow. I even attended the Sin City tour led by Bart and once again, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment! Thanks Krakow Explorers for making my visit an exceptional one!

Krakow Explorers were incredible! On our first day we were wandering around the main square in old town and heard a guide called Chris, speaking to a group in English. We listened and when he was moving on he invited us to join. The tours are free and rely on donations. We had an amazing and very informative few hours walking around Old Town and eventually up to the castle. Chris was excellent and knowledgeable with a friendly demeanour and excellent English language skills. Needless to say we made a donation and promised to recommend his tours. Everyone coming to Krakow should try this on their first day.

We did two tours in one day and Chris was incredibly informative and a great storyteller. I highly recommend these tours as a way to learn about this incredibly beautiful and tragic city. The old town tour in the morning was wonderful because we learned about the rich culture. We followed it by the Jewish quarter tour in the afternoon which was sad but incredibly important to learn about. Humans are so complex and these tours are important. Bring your kids!

Would highly recommend these tours. Both old town and Jewish quarter walking tours were excellent. Our Guide Chris was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The experience was both informative and light hearted at times. Would definitely use again, as these tours have been a highlight of our fab visit to Krakow.

We've been on two tours with Slavek...the Jewish Quarter and the Old Town. Both were so informative and interesting and gave a really good context to the history and culture of Krakow. Entertaining but sobering too. The tour of the Jewish quarter and the ghetto was harrowing, but rightly so. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Kay H. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent walking tour of the Jewish quarter.. our guide Damion (not sure of spelling) was informative and engaging with his knowledge of the area and historical overview. Highly recommended Was told the tour was around 2.5 hours long and it slightly overran which was not a problem as it was so interesting. Easy to locate and we gave a donation to the guide at the end of the tour ...7 people on our group ...perfect thank you

We joined Bart on a tour of the old Jewish quarter of Krakow. The tour was excellent: very informative, interesting and entertaining but also compassionate in view of the horrific history during the German occupation of Poland. Highly recommended!

We did the old town tour and the Jewish quarter and ghetto tour with Chris. He is very knowledgeable and brought the history alive with his story telling and photos. We learned a lot and got a really good feel for the history of this great city. Would definitely recommend this tour

This tour is one of the "must do's" in Krakow. We had a superb walk around the Old Town and learnt a lot along the way too. An easy amble through the streets whilst discovering so much is a great way to start your visit to beautiful Krakow. Bart is a most entertaining guide who obviously knows his stuff.

Krakow Explores are the best. I join two tours with them and was fantastic, very specific, very analytical and offer you unique details of the history of the city. Bart, thanks for your special and unique tour.

  • 5/5 Jana P. 1 year ago on Google
The best guided tour ever. There are several free walking tours you can do (Old town and Wawel Castle, Jewish Quarters, Krakow under the regimes) and a few paid tours in a variety of languages. You can pre-book online or just join the free walking tour group on a spot once you see them gather in front of the main cathedral on the Rynek Glowny. The tour guide I ended up having both times (Old town tour and Jewish quarters) Chris (Krzystof) is an archelogist and he is an absolute star. Gives detailed and very interesting information (that you would need to spend hours gathering yourself) of places, Polish history, cultural background and great tips for anything you ask (including restaurants, bars and tourist traps to avoid). Joining the tours helped me meet very interesting people and the Old Town one helps greatly with orientation in the old town. 100% recommended and would do it again upon my return to this beautiful city.

We participated in a tour of the Jewish quarter, Kazimierz, through the hotel. Chris, who was our guide, was knowledgeable and pleasant. I felt that the more I heard, the more interesting the trip became. I would have enjoyed longer, the tour lasted 2 hours. Warm recommendations!
