Loved the off beat tour, would 100% recommend. Friendly chatty guides who love showing you around, the cars add a true flavour, and to top it off we learnt a load about being communists. Remember everyone is equal, just some are more equal!

One of the best tours I had. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. Gave a lot interesting facts. The cars were amazing. Hard to imagine that people could regularly drove it in the past. One must drive it to experience the spirit of the past. Don't miss it when in Poland.

This is the second time we have had the pleasure to join these amazing and wonderful crazy guides on the best guided tour of Nowa Huta! I have only positive things to say about these guys. Even though the trips we have had were sober, these guys have gone above and beyond! A perfect mix of fun & craziness with factual information. trips into old buildings and bunkers that has stood still in time (mostly). The cars are really fun, Trabi-601 and Lada/VAZ-2107 sure are the right cars to capture the experience. I cannot recommend this bunch of crazy guides enough, are you in Kraków then this is definitely worth going for!

Really enjoyed the deluxe day being driven around in the jolly Trabant! Our guide was fantastic, very funny, charismatic, and had grown up in Kraków, and was able to tell us a lot about the locality, how communism shaped Poland, and a lot of history and information about Kraków. The steel works underground bunkers were amazing, virtually undisturbed for decades. The restaurant we stopped in has a lot of history, the photo books of years past can be viewed, while enjoying traditional polish food, and a bit of drink. We are on holiday, after all... It was definitely our favourite day during two weeks holidaying in Kraków. Highly recommend Crazy Tours, they are great guys, and will really look after you. Hoping to return next year, and will do the shooting day! Many thanks guys! Mark and Carmel.

Brilliant experience, beyond our expectations, choosing Crazy Guides is the assurance of having a great time and having a look at the way of life in communist times. We loved the ride in the Lada. Hats off to our guide who knew how to perfectly take us through the tour in English ;)

Our crazy guide Thomas was absolutely amazing, so full of first hand knowledge having grown up in communist Poland. He was also extremely funny and made the whole experience really fun, unique and educational. I've never had a tour like this it was so much fun. Would 100% recommend, a must for anyone visiting Krakow!

Fantastic tour..in fact one of the best I ever had in my life!! Very educational with a large scoop of humour and fun!! It was given by a group of very charismatic and innovative tour guides. We went on the ‘Communism Deluxe’ tour which included: a private tour in a vintage Trabant of the Nowa Huta district, comprised of the: central square, residential units, abandoned administrative center/ bunker of the former Lenin steelworks, and lunch in a still functioning authentic ‘milk bar’ workers canteen where the food is quite hearty and delicious! A fantastic experience that really helped me understand the ethos of present-day Poland. If you ever find yourself in Kraków Poland, I would highly recommend Crazy Guides!!!!

Super nice and fun, cool tour guide. He's very laid back, relaxed, and easy to talk to. He covered all that was expected on the tour. The detailed tour gives you a good sense of connection to the time period and place. I highly recommend the Deluxe. Thanks!

We had a fantastic time and tour with Tomas, our crazy guide, in Krakow in September of 2023. He had us laughing hysterically all while he communicated the more serious and utterly fascinating Communist history of modern day Poland. We visited a communist era housing block, a Milky bar, and a defunct steel mill situated near the housing for efficient access by the workers. We had a break for refreshments while he walked us through his notebook of photographs and newspaper clippings. He also shared his own personal perspective as a young rebellious child in Soviet era schools and as a personal witness to the transition away from Soviet control. I strongly recommend this tour!

Wow! Can’t recommend these guys enough. The company and the guides are amazing- interesting! My favorite tour in Krakow! Have done it 3 times and will always be a go-to tour if I take visitors- they always updating the tours. Recently added a Russian bomb shelter under the Steel Mill to the tour- very cool!

Very good tour! Super experience, very nice guides, and started the day with a shot of vodka and a Polish cucumber! Recommend the full experience.

Absolutely loved this tour. My husband and I took the Communism Deluxe tour with Maciek. He showed up in a lime green Trabant and took us on our way to explore Nowa Huta. Maciek is clearly passionate about history, but also has a lot of personal anecdotes about living in Krakow during communism. I had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to suggest this tour :)

I honestly think this was the best tour I’ve ever done, we all enjoyed it and found our host Majik really knowledgeable and a lovely guy who it was a pleasure to spend the day with. The cold war bunkers we just epic for a family of history nerds.

We got a wonderful and really interesting 3 hour tour through Nowa Huta. There was a lot of cool stuff to see and the vintage Trabant made the experience even better. Also the vodka in the restaurant was excellent. Our guide was super knowledgeable and very friendly. Especially the comments on the current vibe of Nowa Huta were super interesting. We even got a great tip for a milk bar to visit for lunch.

I've been visiting Krakow for many years and finally had a chance to do a tour and see Nowa Huta. DO THIS TOUR, you will love it, just like we did. The guides are hilarious, fun, knowledgeable, and the tour is worth the time. We all laughed a lot and still talk about how much fun we had with the guides. Plus, the history is so interesting. Highly recommend!!

Had a fantastic time being driven around the Nowa Huta district of Krakow, the guide was passionate, knowledgeable and interested in us and what we had to say. Riding in the trabant was a brilliant experience as well, complimented by many stories told about those cars. We had nearly four hours of being shown communist monuments, as well as laughs, jokes and historic details being explained to us. Would thoroughly recommend - was one of our stay in Poland!

Book book book. Amazing guides and a great way to learn more about polish history. We had so much fun. After 1,5 days with corporate meetings, Crazy Mike and his team delivered a perfect finish. My customers and myself enjoyed the experience. Recomended for corporate [and offcourse private] groups.

Thank you for the amazing tour of nowa huta. It's a hidden gem of trip to krakow. Would highly recommend it to anyone as our guide was amazing, full of information and knowledge, no questions were too stupid for her to answer lol. Plus a trip in trabant was one off the highlights. Once again thank you so much for the experience as made my trip to krakow very memorable.

Super cool tour (Communism Deluxe) with an original Trabant, pickles and vodka! Super laid back and nice guide who told us a lot about architecture and history without getting boring for a millisecond. Can 100% recommend and will book one of their tours again in the future!

Unique tour that even our teenaged children enjoyed. Fun and informative. The scheduling was easy and the guides were great. They arrived on time at the meeting point and took great care of us. Wish we'd had more time in our schedule; the time went by too quickly.

A good tour discovering the social and architectural past of Communist era Nova Huta with a knowledgeable (native/resident with family stories from the period) and entertaining 'crazy' guide. Recommended!

Had a great tour today with Comrade Cornelia. At 6 foot 2 I just about squeezed into this beauty of a Trabant and off we travelled to Nouva Houta. We gathered many fun facts about the history of this impressive place and it's a short spin from Krakow. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions with ease. Her driving skills were super impressive and we were dropped back at Propaganda Bar to continue the re-education of our dolent Capitalist minds😂😂. A quirky fun fact filled tour . Even if you're not a history buff you'd enjoy this

Our tour (and guide) were absolutely amazing, and that even during winter! I'm French, my husband is Polish, and our guide spoke English the whole time to make sure I'd understand everything. Mix between history and actual fun activities - recommend 100%

After seeing the Trabant tour of Communist Krakow on a Uk Tv programme we knew it was just what we had to do when we visited this amazing city. Maciek was an amazing guide- full of interesting facts and knowledge from a personal perspective of how communism in Nowa Huta affected his immediate family. We had a wonderful experience full of laughter on both sides! We would highly recommend Crazy Guides tours especially this one ! We did the tour on 10th October 2021 - or 12th wedding anniversary - and one to remember Thank you Laura and Stuart

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Poland history in general, and made our time together both engaging and fun. The tour might seem a bit pricey, but it's unique and worth every zloty!

Our guide Cornelia gave us a more than interesting tour in Nowa Huta. In fluent english she gave us an intraspective sight of life under the communist regime. Highly recommended and the old "Trabby" is a must.

This tour was unique! We enjoyed the authentic car pick up and drive. The tour was informative and we left feeling we had experienced authentic info and stories. Going to the Milk Bar was great too. Make sure you sample lots of the food there!

I would definitely recommend the tour with these guys! We joined the Deluxe tour, and it was a complete full immersion on the socialist Era. We also has lunch in a real Bar Mleczny. It was great!

I booked a Crazy Guides tour to Nowa Huta for my visitors from South Africa. Of all the tours they did during their stay in Poland, this is the one they keep on referring back to as the highlight of their visit. Very informative, well organised, safe, friendly staff with lots of fun! I highly recommend a tour with Crazy Guides.

I went on the 3-hour tour twice with visitors to Krakow and each time it was fantastic and most memorable! Crazy guides make the tour very authentic, they have a huge knowledge of the history and life in Communist Nowa Huta and it's also just lots of fun. From the start, when we were picked you up in a Trabant, to the vodka & pickle snacks, to visits of historic places, the tour transported us back to Communist times. Among other sites, Crazy Guides brought us into the abandoned, administrative building of the steel factory that we would have never been able to visit on our own. We ended the tour with lunch at an old-fashioned milk bar that still serves cheap but tasty classic Polish dishes. I highly recommend their tours!

Amazing tour with our amazing guide, Maciej! This is an excellent way to navigate around the huge city of Krakow while asking all the questions you can think. We both had a great time in and out of the car. Can highly recommend this to anyone wanting to see a side of history that is not part of the hyper tourism.

  • 5/5 wendy van z. 2 years ago on Google
We had a great tour with our tourguide Maciek. A lot of knowledge about the communistic time given by a passionate guide in a cool Trabant. Really a nice thing to do when you visit Krakow! The people from Crazy guides are very friendly and professional! One of the coolest activities to do around Krakow!

Best experience I’ve had for years! My wife and i with our 2 teenage boys (who aren’t easily impressed) all absolutely loved it. Amazing car, suberb knowledgable host and top sights. Krakow is a beautiful city but the only way to see all it has to offer is to jump into a soviet relic and check out the lesser known attractions. This was not a standard tour, we told our guide what we wanted to do and he was very accommodating. It was just brilliant, loved every minute.

We had a great time and a lot of fun during our tour. Great guide with a lot of knowledge of the city and very funny. We went from serious historical info into helping out the police in a complete rollercoaster. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see a part of history and have a good laugh. Don’t forget to buy a nice suit from the trunk…

Booked the deluxe tour for August and it was amazing! Cornelia was a wonderful guide and was very personable and fun. We really enjoyed riding in the Trabant 1.1 liter "wagon" despite the warm temps and no A/C. Highlights were the authentic Milk Bar and of course the factory disaster/nuclear shelter that made you feel like you were back in the 60's with all the vintage equipment left in place. All in all a great experience! Highly recommended.

We had an amazing day with Cornelia, definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Krakow! Nowa Huta has such an interesting history and Cornelia was a very knowledgeable and fun guide. Also loved to experience driving around in the old Trabant!
