Really disappointed with the management. Please don’t make any advance payment to anyone of this hotel before going to this place. The real place does not have the same quality as photos. We made a booking after paying an advance fee before three days as they instructed. We were surprised with what we heard from the management after reaching the place. They told us they will be unable to supply water for rooms until next day. Even there was a pregnant lady with us. We heard one of their hotel worker said the water issue has been there even before three days (before making the booking). Hotel workers started to lay a new pipe line after we arrived. We were disappointed and informed the management. They said they are sorry for the incident and will refund the advance payment we paid them next day. Now we know for sure that they are a set of liars.

We first visited the place in 2016 for a one night stay when Mr. Anil was operating there. We had a great experience at that time with delicious food and were very relaxed. We again visited the place on 01.08.2023 after 07 years for a day out truly because of the previous experience we had. However, the management has been changed now, and it is very pathetic to say the service is not up to standards, and the place was very crowded as they have taken more bookings than their capacity. The lunch menu was totally different to what they have informed us. Since some of our team members don’t eat chicken, we informed them very beginning that we need fish instead of chicken. However, when we requested omelets for them, the staff was very reluctant to provide them. Further, curd with trickle was on the menu as the dessert, but they gave us ice cream. When we asked about this, a lady and another person (I don't know whether he is a staff member) acted in a very undisciplined manner and didn't know how to treat their customers. We have requested the management reduce our charge per person since we didn’t receive the proper menu, they even refused to do that. We visit such places like this to have a pleasant time and to relax our minds. However, our day out was totally ruined by this incident and the money we spent was a waste since our satisfaction was not as what we expected. It is very sad to say that a nice place that is situated in a nice location has lost its service standards due to the change of the management.

The environment is good. But the rooms are not good at all ..not as beautiful as shown ..don't go here, anyone. The service is the last. Our group is the only one in the whole hotel.. The food is not tasty either.. They don't even know how to guide a customer to manage a hotel. There is no sugar in the milk you get in the morning.. Dogs come right next to the room. You can't stay in the room. Small animals are coming one by one.. We found two rooms, one of which was used... No TV, no wifi. Verry bad.😒

This is a wonderful place which is quite unique in terms of Ecotorism. There are 6 water falls within 750 meters, beautiful to visit, see and take a nature bath. Such a serene environment. My first attraction to the place was a bath in the stream next to the hotel. Now there are tree houses and VIP lounges for people and family to come and chill out. Please don't miss such a unique place!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Sinharaja Eco Lodge in Lankagama, and I wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. First and foremost, the location of Sinharaja Eco Lodge is undeniably one of its standout features. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, it offers an idyllic and serene setting for nature enthusiasts and travelers looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Sri Lanka's tropical rainforests. The lodge is surrounded by verdant trees and rich biodiversity, making it a perfect base for exploring the nearby forest. The staff at Sinharaja Eco Lodge were friendly and welcoming. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles, and they kindly accommodated our request for a room to change since we were on a day trip. Their hospitality and willingness to assist guests made our stay more enjoyable. However, I must admit that the room we were provided with left something to be desired. While it served its purpose for a day trip, it could have been better in terms of comfort and aesthetics. The furnishings and overall ambiance of the room were a bit dated, and some maintenance and refurbishment would certainly enhance the guest experience. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that the primary draw of this lodge is its proximity to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, so the room, while not luxurious, may not be the main focus for many visitors. Speaking of the forest experience, the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the trip to the Sinharaja Forest. The lodge offers guided tours and excursions into the forest, allowing guests to explore its rich biodiversity, unique flora, and fauna. The natural beauty of the forest and the knowledge of our guide added immense value to our stay. It's important to mention, though, that the forest experience is not directly related to the lodge itself, but rather a separate attraction that the lodge facilitates. One aspect where I feel there's room for improvement is the overall cleanliness of the lodge. While it wasn't terribly dirty, there were a few areas that could have been tidier, which would have added to the overall comfort of the stay. Maintaining a higher level of cleanliness would contribute to a more pleasant and memorable guest experience. In conclusion, Sinharaja Eco Lodge in Lankagama offers an excellent location for nature enthusiasts and those eager to explore the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. The staff's friendliness and the opportunity to embark on forest adventures are definite highlights. However, the lodge's rooms could benefit from some refurbishment, and an emphasis on cleanliness would further enhance the guest experience. If you're primarily looking for a comfortable base from which to explore the stunning natural surroundings, this lodge is a suitable choice, but don't expect luxurious accommodations.

Rooms and Facilities: 1. Our group had 6 standard rooms and no locks were there on the bathroom doors of several rooms. Ok for a couple but very uncomfortable for a family. 2. Located near a rainforest, but we found no umbrella in any of the rooms we had. Better you take your own umbrella as there is a good distance you have to walk to the restaurant. 3. Apart from the above, rest of the facilities in the room were ok. 4. No swimming pool. But you can enjoy the near by streams at your own risk. 5. If you are coming by a bus, there is a good chance that you might have to park the bus in a paid private parking which is 100m away from the resort and take your luggage to hotel as the road is not in good condition. 6. Most important thing is that you have to include drivers in your headcount. Be mindful when you do the budgeting if by any chance you are selecting this place. Most people will not ask this upfront since it is a common courtesy. But it seems things being done differently in this place. Service: 1. We asked for a replacement for the room with no bathroom lock, leaking bidet and broken fan. They informed us that the other room available in the category is already booked, but we saw no guest show up. We feel that they did not care to lie. 2. We were offered a discounted price as we had a 13+ group. But later found out that the menu was altered and some items in the menu published on social media and sent to us via whatsapp were not included. Not the ideal experience you expect from a professional body. 3. Package published on social media and one sent to us mentioned on free tickets to Sinharaja tour with a guide, but we had to pay separately as we were not provided with such service. 4. Similar to those recent reviews I saw, menu was poor and lack of varieties. E.g. If you do not eat meat, you have to purchase eggs or some other alternatives separately. 5. Even the meals are said to be on buffet, portions they serve is limited. You will get a better service from road side buffets you find. 6. Staff and management seems very new to the business and they do not understand the importance of getting to know their guests. E.g. they served prepared milk tea (bed tea) for all without any pre-inquire on the preference. If you do not drink milk, make sure you inform in advance to avoid possible hassle. Also if you do not like red rice, better inform in-advance to avoid waiting time for them to cook white rice for half of your pack. Location: 1. Lankagama and Sinharaja has always been a beautiful place. So you will get the same luxury in this place also. Good quiet place. 2. There are on-going developments, but no significant disturbances noticed. 3. If you want to have a late night gathering with music+singing, be aware that the curfew is on after 11:30 PM. Not the ideal place for such gathering. Overall not the best experience you like to have or the Bang for the buck but rest of the experience you get from the visit to Lankagama worth the money.

It's a beautiful place experience the wilderness at its best. The journey along the river and the border of the majestic sinharaja forest is absolutely fantastic. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. All in all great experience.

I would highly recommend it, and would go again any time! The place is at the very edge of the famous Sinharaja Forest and the hotel is surrounded with rivers to bathe in, canoeing/kayaking and soo much more! The business is really good, the staff are super helpful and they treat you nicely and are very helpful. The landscapes are so breathtaking and so fun to look at! There is also a huge open field that people can play sports on, or just hang around in general. Amazing customer service and proud to have spent my holiday there!
