Din Tai Fung chain is great for a quick indulgence in several types of juicy sho-ron-po. They also have some noodles and fried rice sets. The quality is very good. This one is conveniently underground located next to Tokyo station and has plenty of seating and fast service.

The Tan tan men was kind of watery and noodles were uninspiring. Felt big ... But more like a family restaurant. Price really doesn't match what you're getting. Way better options around Tokyo station... At least for Tan Tan Mein. Place seems famous for dumplings which I didn't have. Nice tea though.

Dim sum! The place is a little hard to find (face the Yaesu North Exit and then go into the basement of the Tekkou building on the right) but as a result, even on a weekend evening, it wasn’t crowded and my group was seated right away. The soup dumplings were delicious, though can rack up in price if you order a lot of them. I suggest getting an order or two of fried rice to make sure you have enough to eat without breaking the bank. Also a decent wine selection, if that’s your thing.

The pork soupy buns didn't have as much soup as I expected, and the seafood soupy buns had even less soup. On the other hand, fried rice, suan-la-tang (spicy and sour soup), and mango shaved ice are excellent.

Be prepared to wait as they get very busy, even on weekdays! When you see the restaurant, tell the hostess/host your party size, and you will receive a ticket with your number on it. There is a TV screen that will let you know your number is called, and they divide the sections by party size: 1-2 people, 3-4, 5+. We waited approximately an hour, but luckily there were seats around the restaurant. You could also walk around the food court as long as you have your ticket number, and didn’t miss your turn. I have never been to a DTF before, but what makes them so special is that they have different soup dumpling flavours, as well as an amazing deal for soup dumpling lovers! 4,280 yen to try all their 9 types of soup dumplings - which why was very tempting for me 😂 We tried a couple different flavours, but my favourite was definitely the truffle and pork soup dumpling! It was pricey as 2 pieces were $1,050 yen, but very worth trying! The original was alittle disappointing as it wasn’t as soupy as I expected - had better ones in Canada. If you’re looking to try different soup dumpling flavours, give DTF here a try! But if you’re just looking for regular soup dumplings, it’s not really worth the wait. IG: Ayenomz

Still slightly different from the taste in Singapore branch. May be due to less spicy and sour.

A Taiwanese restaurant chain covering worldwide which is very famous for soup dumpling. It offers a wide variety of soup dumpling including such luxury delicacies as truffles or Awabi, Japanese abalone. I had a standard one, namely pork, and Kanimiso, crab tomalley, both of which were very good. That said, given the relatively small portion of the soup dumplings, I have to say they are pricey. Another downside is the restaurant is so popular that you usually have to wait long to get in. Granted that it really is an excellent restaurant, for me it wouldn’t be worth an hour-long line-up. (I was able to skip the line by getting there at its opening time of 11:00am.)

Signature dishes such as xialong boa and spicy wonton were delicious. Service was impeccable. A little pricey but still worth it.
