Excellent place to have a casual meal. We had breakfast once and food was so tasty. Staff is friendly and flexible to cater our customized needs. They have a little jetty touching the Madhu river bank. This place highly recommended to have a meal.

Absolutely gem of a place for lunch, we found it just passing and so glad we did. The location is perfect, nice garden seating with shade with a view of the Madu river. We had a great sea food meal with grilled fish from the catch of the the day, devilled cattle fish and prawn curry with rice. Everything was so tasty, and service was superb as well. Definitely worth stopping by for a meal if you are in the area!

Amazing restaurant. Really really good seafood- the best we have had in sri lanka (and we have dined mostly at 5 star resorts). The price is justifiable as I had a plate of very well cooked fresh fish: a whole fish, calamari and prawns for 28 dollars. The fish was all really fresh and the sauce was delicious. Really recommend 10/10, I will definitely come here again on my next visit to this country. The owner is a very friendly man, and this was perfect after our river cruise. Also the toilets were the cleanest ones we have had in 12 days of dining in restaurants here. Really top service. I don’t usually get satisfied with fish unless I cook it myself but today I was wrong. It was the best! Photos attached :) my partner had the chicken and it was good too but he was jealous of my plate. The side potatoes were also with some spices (not hot) and they tasted delicious. You have to come here on your next visit- such a better way to eat than the all inclusive resort food that is offered in local hotels!

This place was recommended by our tour guide Nijab and oh my!!!!!!! The food was exquisite, one of the best seafood I’ve ever had, we just had to tell them what seafood we liked and they surprised us with the flavors. It has a beautiful view overlooking the lake, we had lunch so the place was quiet which was perfect! Fresh and tasty food! Lovely views and under the shade the weather was nice. We also did the river tour and our boat department from this location. We stopped by cinnamon island where a family lives. The local man explained the process of extracting the edible/consumable cinnamon from the tree and was selling the powder, sticks, and oil, which was an interesting experience. We also tried the fish therapy which I honestly found so strange but my husband seems to have enjoyed it. Overall enjoyable day:)

Had lunch here! Order chicken fried rice and mixed seafood rice. Not the best but okay. Seasoning could improve. Service could improve as well. Beautiful atmosphere with restaurant overseeing the madu river😍 Portions are average. Worth the price? I guess.

Food was excellent, the portions decent. The ambience is fantastic. Riverside seating is excellent. We were allowed to bring our own gin, too. I especially loved the fact that they had wash-rooms right next to the parking area, just perfect for tourists who make rest-stops. However, there were some cons, especially in the service. For one, there was no ice. It seemed that they did not have a functioning fridge. I also disliked the way the wait-staff spoke to us. He brought our meal and our children's dishes, and then he not suggested, not requested, but *instructed* us to call our children to come and eat, otherwise the food will get cold "and then don't come to us". Like, what the hell? What do you mean "don't come to us"? Don't come to the wait-staff to request the food be re-heated, if we need it to be re-heated? What a thing to say! And of course, this isn't something they would say to European or American/Aussie tourists, because with them they behave professionally.. but we were mostly brown folks so we got this special treatment. Our friends had to contend with a bill for LKR 15,000+. Again, this was very unprofessional. Confirming the order is a basic requirement of waiting tables. Our friends had to go and speak to the management, and they agreed to bring the bill down to 12,000 something. That was decent of them, but seriously, this was something that could have been avoided. Besides these, the staff were fast and knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English for we who spoke no Sinhala. Our time at the restaurant was very good and we would go again should the need arise.

The food was on the expensive side and considering it was my first meal in Sri Lanka I was not overly impressed. Subpar dishes that are at a ridiculously high price for the area. The waitstaff was nice though and it’s nice to be on the waterside as well.

Located river bank of madhu. We went for boat safary in madhu river which was very famous. After that we went this place for our lunch. there are four people in our group including chineae friend. Hotel crew was very supportive. You can have many choices but take around 20 minutes to prepare the food. We ordered grilled full fish(they will show you many fishes you can order what ever you want in any style) , fried noodles, seafood chosuey and rice. Cost around 4000 and its very good for that price. The place is Recomend for local and forigners.
