In Germany are many car museums. In Zwickau is August Horch Museum. Founder of Audi Car. Museum is modern, but inside a lot old cars and history of technology. There is also restaurant. Trabants, bicycles, and so on...

Since I have 2 fans of cars in family we leveraged opportunity to visit August Horch Museum. Well managed museum, audio and individual guide tours available. You can have lunch or make coffee break at restaurant on site.

I will say this. One of the best I've been to. And I've been to many. In MB in Stuttgart, In Tatra Museum in Koprzywnica, In Porsche (the Porsche Museum could learn from them). For me, this is the first three automotive museums I've been to. In addition, it is really worth eating in the pub in the Museum. The duck was delicious.

An awesome place. We love it there. Beautiful piece of history presented with lot of details and in great style. We have enjoyed the visit a lot. The staff was very friendy, the prices are very reasonable. We paid 19 Euro for a family ticket. There is also a good restaurant with a solid selection of food and drinks. We went for traditional german dishes and all was fresh and tasty. Coffee was good either. Highly recommended

This museum is a must-have of all automobil enthusiasts! It's showing you the great history of beginning of manufacturing of cars. This place is the real beginning of one of the most beautiful cars: the Audi cars! It's the history of the great inventors and engineers of Horch dynasty. The history shows you what's possible in the past with good skilled workers and really great inventions to growing up a world industry within decades. Also it gives you an idea about good marketing and design. The museum also shows you the actual history of former Sachsenring and Volkswagen company how they transform the industrial area from the past into the future just within some years. Other interesting section is the outstanding race winning performance of former Horch and Audi cars in the 30ies of the last century. To see and study all that history and fine exhibition samples you need minimum 3hours of the time. It's nice to visit with older kids. All together: it's great!Enjoy it!

Great automotive museum, gives you the origins of Audi and other brands that did not make it to the 21st century.

Was pretty good. They are using a lot of different rooms and it's very clustered because of that. Not always clear which way to go so you don't miss anything. Otherwise great. Lots of little historical pices from that time as well amd if you get hungry there is a restaurant.

This captivating exhibition is an absolute treat for any car enthusiast. It skillfully delves into the rich history and formation of the Audi group, a conglomerate that came to be through the merger of four distinct brands, including the renowned Horch, which predominantly operated out of Zwickau. The showcase brilliantly illustrates the evolution of automobile features, with a particular focus on the advancements made in East Germany. Furthermore, it sheds light on the remarkable resilience of these manufacturing companies during the challenging times of the DDR era. One of the exhibition's highlights is undoubtedly the exhilarating display of Audi's high-speed racing cars, which have shattered numerous records and left a lasting impact on the automotive world. The only drawbag is that it is a bit far from the city center if you are only relying on public transportation.

Really interesting place to visit for sure. Also for kids :-) There are small places for kids to play, while parents can read/watch the presentation. Also there is the restaurant to have a lunch or small snack/coffee.

Excellent exhibition, no issue seeing everything in a couple hours. Great vehicles, in chronological order. The street screens provide great perspective. Nostalgic for folks of a certain generation. Highly recommended.

Excellent museum with a huge collection of Horch and other Auto Union cars. There is also an large exhibition dedicated to Trabant. However, the latter is easy to miss, as you have to go through a restaurant to get there, The restaurant, by the way, is excellent too. We planned to spend an hour or so, but we ended up spending most of the day in the museum. And we are not even car enthusiasts. :-)

Very lovely place, to bad it close at 17.00 and when you come 15.30, you have no time to see everything - ( when you have friends which are slow) or after 15.00 the price shall be less!!!! The 1st floor took us 90 min . 10 min before close everyone need to leave the building. By 17.04 most of the staff are leaving!@@ The times of opening shall be bigger and shall not behind the entrance bell , which hides this!!

There's little to do but reading plates in German and walking through the place. The surroundinga of the museum also offers nothing for visitors
