The food taste is average. The restaurant attracts a great number of local people and tourists due to it being a vegetarian restaurant with a legacy. But I don't see the restaurant being maintained cleanly and has only 1 Indian style toilet which is also not clean. I can see many elderly people looking for a restroom but leaving the restaurant helplessly after a meal. The owner should reinvest in basic facilities.

We always stay here during temple visits. This is our third visit fir a week. Great advantage is restaurant is on ground floor and tiffin/ meals are very good( all South Indian and vegetarian ).Prices are reasonable and staff quite friendly. A great budget hotel, good value for money.AC / fan/ Lift / TV / Geyser work alright.

Good vegetarian food at very reasonable prices. Courteous staff. A very old hotel that maintains the hospitality traditions. On important occasions, they write informative and thoughtful words along with a beautiful chalk drawing in a black board placed at the entrance.

This hotel is very nice. We had our lunch here in an air conditioned enclosure. The lunch was just great. Food is not very spicy but quite tasty. Their service excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the igonic hotel in Kumbakonam which serves the regular south indian tiffin and meals varieties price bit on higher side, taste kind of avarage their Non ac table were placed like marriage hall ,They do have AC dining with few tables which always jam packed..

Very good Restaurant for a long time. Very good tasty food from 9 AM till 3 PM. Only problem is there is no car parking facility for customer. We have to park on the road. Good customer service. Food doesn't affect the stomach. I go to this restaurant for lunch whenever I am in Kumbakonam vicinity at that time.

Awesome hospitality, so much impressed, We have checked in odd time at midnight 12. Even at that time they have recieved us with respect and best hospitality. What ever we have requested, hotel management arranged immediately without any hesitation. And with full of respect. This is the best hotel i have ever seen in my life. 5 star rating is very less for this. Even we can give more stars for this hotel management and staff.

Just stayed a day. Courteous staff, close to Kumbakonam Railway Station and Bus stand. You can take an auto to get yourself dropped here. The hotel is in the main area and a lot of restaurants and food cart are available. With lift facility. The rooms are comfortably big. AC throw was perfect. The interiors are a bit old in the room and the bed is not cushiony. Toiletries and water bottle were not provided. Otherwise, you can select this property without any hesitation. Card payment is not accepted. UPI and cash transactions only. 24 hours check in and check out is a huge plus!

Hotel lost its pride because of quality of food served. Cheating people saying "as degree coffee" but supplying bad quality stuff.There is no complaint book available to record our observations. Rooms in Residency are value for the money they are changing.

Customer service poor. Too far from railway station. When called from chennai they said rooms available. But when visited they are saying no rooms vacant. Hotel service is very poor. You will have to wait for every thing. Only cash payments. No card payments. Overall poor customer service. Had vadai and bonda. Not served hot. Served food is not upto the mark. Sri Venkat Ramana hotel & residency is at near aadhi kumbeswarar temple.Good vegetarian food at reasonable price with traditional way.Tiffan items also very tasty.Home like taste and service is good.Restarunt is an ideal location for temples , railway station and bus stand.

This place was better maintained and well kept before pandemic. This is my second stay here, not quite happy with the place. When I visited 4 yrs back, it was good. Pandemic has definitely affected the place. Prefer better places than this. Its not recommended.

All your basic needs are satisfied.. Nice clean AC rooms, a really good vegetarian hotel next door and a taxi service close by.. can't go wrong staying here

The meals we had was ok.it can't be categorized under outstanding category.Table service is also poor. This is in the AC room. There are more staff available but lack of coordination is visible. Parking of vehicles is a major issue.

Worst hotel i ever had because Romm service is worst and I saw broken bucket in in my room. In restaurant all the workers are standing as their wish and not even carrying about the customer and there is a AC hall but I didn't fell the cooling there if asked means they will tell all the ac are out of service don't skip this hotel.

Very bad service. Rooms are unhygienic, no maintenance, cleaning was not done and the room is full of mosquitoes. Staff is also very rude and irresponsible. They tried charging for 2 days although the stay was only for 1 day. They entered incorrect check in time and when asked the staff response was very rude and irresponsible. Totally disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pure veg...best for meals though a little costly... seperate seating is the problem as we go with family, family members having meals , special meals, or tiffin are strictly seperate to dine.

Stayed in the hotel for 2 days. The hotel is located in a good spot, just opposite of a park. There are lots of shops nearby for shopping. The rooms requires good maintenance, as we could see it untidy especially the bathrooms. There were no cleaning staffs in the hotel, except a person. Beds, tv and other amenities were in the good condition. The hotel staffs were so helpful and cooperative. Could be much better if only, they concentrate in keeping the rooms more cleaner.

We had lunch at their restaurant. They've been around for long. Food is on banana leaves and costs 120 only for unlimited. It was great

I went to the Venkatramana Hotel. Had Halwa, Asoka, Pongal, Poori and Vadai. Pongal was as usual good. Poori masal was a little disappointment this time. Not the usual Masal we taste there Sweet was tasty, though.

Pathetic service. Scorching heat 40°C. Aircon room barely running the air-conditioner. Staff randomly serving dishes and systematically ignoring tables. It was strangely unique, all the bearers systematically winked on our table as if they resolved to do so. Best part, the owner, or at least the super boss, completely ignored the complaint. Instead, we were advised to bear with the staff due to the heat and the rush hour of lunch time. ..!

Lunch was so bad. They say special meals. I don't know what they mean by special meals. We are even ready to pay extra, but dont compromise on taste. They forget to serve items. We must call for each item and ask them to serve. Other than halwa, all the item were Tasteless. Only mangalambika, krishna bhavan were good in taste food..

It has lost its original reputation and quality, however still meets minimum standards on par with good restaurants in the area. Located in the prime spot. 4 wheeler parking is an issue.

What can I say about this place? It has been our must visit place for lunch and dinner when in Kumbakonam. Typical Iyer food or should I say home food. Only place where we get meals even for night and not just tiffin. I wish there was ample parking. With old people travelling for pilgrimage it become difficult to make them walk long distances.

Good food , very old restaurant with granite table and wooden chair. Credit cards not accepted its only cash or e payments. Limited Variety of quality sweets are also offered at very reasonable price.

The hotel/restaurant has been there for a long time and famous among the locals. Decent place to stay for a day or two. Nothing to complain about. No wifi and parking for the cars provided in another place bit away from the hotel.

Stayed in this Hotel for one day. I was requested to call and confirm if the rooms are available by the front desk executive on the day of check in. I called them around 1PM and was confirmed that the rooms are available. I reached the Hotel around 3PM and was literally harassed by the front desk executive saying that no rooms are available and they did not confirm the availability. Later, One another executive came and informed us that he spoke with us and the rooms are available and there was huge fight within themselves. Finally we were allocated a double room with an extra bed since we were three members. Their website clearly mentions the pricing as follows - Double Bed AC - 990 + Extra Person - 200 including GST which comes to Rs. 1190/- instead we were informed that Triple Bed charges of Rs. 1350 will be charged during check in for which we were good to go. The Hotel do own a car parking about 600 meters away near Hotel Athiyaa and is safely guarded by securities 24X7. We visited the restaurant and had coffee to get relieved from our Tiredness in the evening. Coffee was hot but too watery. This is not the coffee that we expected in Kumbakonam from a reputed restaurant and the Coffee is over priced at Rs. 28/-. Compared to this restaurant, I feel Hotel Gowri Krishna few meters away offers good service, Quality food at much cheaper price. Rooms were fair but the only issue is abundant mosquitos at night. I would kindly request you to take some necessary action to control mosquitos by spraying some pesticides. Finally During check - out, There was a different gentleman at the Front Desk who informed us that Charges were Rs. 1400/- When we enquired him about what we were told during check in, He pointed to the computer and said nothing is manual and everything is transparent and were arguing with us who gave us the pricing kind of. Then he called the person who processed our check in and were creating hell a lot of mess. Literally scolding and abusing the guests. I have come across so many reviews and now I feel sorry for choosing this hotel for my stay with family as the employees were rude and abusive. Finally after getting to know our profile, They asked us to pay Rs. 1350/- and gave us a voucher for Rs. 1400/- to avoid further troubles and even uttered a word to take action with the bills provided if possible. Clearly, It is visible that the hotel management have employed uneducated people who try to convince us saying Rs. 1350/- is the room rent and Rs. 50/- as GST wherein the Bill clearly says Rs. 1250/- as room rent and Rs. 150/- as GST. Till the last moment, The Staffs did not realize their mistake and kept on blaming the guests. Never Prefer this Hotel for Stay folks. We went to this hotel for lunch yesterday by seeing the reviews on YouTube. Though many you tubers say it is old and authentic restaurant with good quality food, but in reality there was nothing. Worst hospitality. They were literally rushing everyone and the owners were behind the servers pushing and scolding them. We ordered for a sambar rice and no poriyal was served. When we asked for it, the server over there gave some poriyal but the owner was scolding the lady why did she gave us poriyal for sambar Sadam. Taste was ok nothing special. Please look for an alternative. No piece of mind over eating there

When I booked a 4 bed deluxe AC room for my family a month back at Hotel Venkatramana Lodging adjacent to the restaurent, I was assured the room rent for 2 days is Rs.3600 all inclusive. When I checked in they said that it was occupied and allotted 2 rooms of 2 beds in each room. At the time of checkout I was provided with a bill for Rs. 4,600 an addition of Rs.1000. At the time of check in they will provide 2 bottles of mineral water per day for the occupants of the room. For me nothing was provided and when I enquired they said they have forgotten. The drainage in the bathrooms were choked with sewers in most of the bathrooms and bad smell emanates in the rooms. They didn't have parking facility and we have to board/alight taking risks from all types of passing vehicles. We heard from our friends and relatives that they have stopped visiting this hotel altogether due to the extremely bad behaviour by the reception staff. Their motto is to cheat the gullible public in one way or other. For the same price other grade 1 hotels are available nearby.

Once upon a time it's a worthy top rated hotel in Kumbakonam now the cost was high but taste of the foods slightly missing

It's one of the old restaurant serving authentic sout indian vegetarian meals. Only thing is it's closed on Sundays

Had lunch two weeks ago, here in AC hall, Quality of food was very good, compared to nearby highly rated veg restaurants. They serve South Indian traditional mildly spiced food in Banana leaf. For those who opt for home made less spicy lunch during temple visit or travel,this is the best @120 rs in AC , ( incl curd and parupu podi) or 90 rs in non AC.. Quality,Hygiene and staff friendly, Sunday Holiday.

Undoubtedly the best place to have Gosthu on Wednesday....Been tasting this for almost 35yrs now....In one word....Awesome👌 Rest.... Other Dishes like Pongal , Vada... Taste have changed... I prefer the older version... As time changes master also changes so is taste. So not a big complaint as such. Meals is too gud particularly elderly people. Home like taste....Decent as always. Pls do not expect fancy dishes and presentation here...lol. Gud for early morning breakfast particularly on Wednesday. Enjoy you food and have grt time in Kumbakonam.... 🙏

I had a lunch here which is 90₹..but it was like and treated free food in temples And it's taste is almost garbage .. please improve the standards for your high class price!!! You can even try road side instead of this type of garbage hotel's This is one of the old hotel but, service like cheap...u can better avoid this place ,there are so many better hotel& restaurant in kumbakonam

Before pongal,I have booked double bed room for the date of 11th February . Mr. Ravi the receptionist has conformed the room and asked me to come on that date. On 1- 02-23 again I have called to know about the booking of the room. I was informed by somebody thatno room was booked .This kind of manner is very idotic.Very worst type of management.
