The coffee planters fountain in was erected by the coffee planters of ceylon in commemoration of the visit of H.R.H. the prince of wales to kandy Dec. 1875 But most of the locals are don't know what is this Befor tea become one of the major agriculture products of the country Ceylon was the biggest coffee manufacture in the world at the peaked in 1870 Ceylon cultivated over 275,000 acres coffees at the situation Wales announced he is going to visit this hill city at that time Sri lankan coffee planters had built this fountain yo commemorate the event.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අවසාන අගනුවර වන මහනුවර 1988 දී ලෝක උරුම නගරයක් ලෙස ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන ලදී. දලදා මාලිගාවාගේ රථගාල පසුකර නාතා දේවාලය දෙසට ඇවිද යන විට බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ගෘහ නිර්මාණ ශිල්පය සිහිපත් කරන මෙම අලංකාර දිය උල්පත ඔබට හමුවනු ඇත. තේ රටේ ප්‍රධාන කෘෂිකාර්මික නිෂ්පාදනයක් බවට පත්වීමට පෙර ශ්‍රී ලංකාව (එවකට ලංකාව) ලොව විශාලතම කෝපි නිෂ්පාදකයා විය. කෝපි නිෂ්පාදනය 1870 දී ඉහළ ගිය අතර අක්කර 275,000 කට වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක් වගා කර ඇත. මෙම කඳුකර නගරය නැරඹීමට වේල්ස් කුමරු සිය සැලැස්ම ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන විට, රටේ කෝපි වැවිලිකරුවන් මෙම උත්සවය සැමරීම සඳහා මෙම දිය උල්පත ඉදිකර තිබේ. කෝපි පුෂ්පයක ස්වරූපයෙන් ඉදිකර ඇති දිය උල්පත ග්ලාස්ගෝහි කර්මාන්ත ශාලාවේ නිෂ්පාදනය කර ඇති අතර ලෝහ මිශ්‍ර ලෝහ පිවර්ටර් භාවිතා කර කොටස් වශයෙන් ආනයනය කර ඇත. එය මහනුවරට රැස් කර අවසන් කර ඇති අතර කුමරුගේ සංචාරය සඳහා පළමු වරට සක්‍රීය කර ඇත. මෙම දිය උල්පත තවමත් එහි මුල් ස්වරූපයෙන් පවතින අතර මහනුවර උත්සව වලදී භාවිතා වේ. වාර්ෂික එසලා පෙරහෙරා සමයේදී මෙය සංදර්ශනයේ සිටින අලි ඇතුන් සඳහා ප්‍රධාන ජල ප්‍රභවයක් බවට පත්වේ. මෙම ස්මාරකය දැන් DFCC බැංකුව විසින් නඩත්තු කරනු ලැබේ. This was built by Coffee Planters of Ceylon in the British colonial era in commemoration of the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Kandy in December 1875. This unique fountain made out of pewter has been initially constructed in Britain by George Smith & Co and Sun Foundry of Glasgow and shipped to Sri Lanka for installation. It is said that the British construction firm send their men to Sri Lanka to install the fountain.
