Really beautiful place! Worth the hike!! The view from the top is amazing! We didn't get a chance to visit the museum as we were running out of time. Best to be fairly healthy to do it. Also make sure to bring plenty of water and, avoid weekends as you get lots of people.

Great experience. The climb was not bad as I thought. The earlier you go, the less tiring it will be. Dont forget the check the museum, the ticket you pay has entrance for the museum as well. Well worth the visit to understand the history of the Sigiriya rock. Car park - is quite far away for the locals. Check google maps for local park location before you proceed.

The place is beautiful and it worth climbing up to enjoy the view of Sigriya. 1 star to the administration has not done a good job, no proper sign for ticket collection, there were 2 stair wherethe tourist guide were misusing creating bottleneck at the spiral stairs.

Pidurangala is a massive rock and there was a temple (Pidurangala Viharaya) based on rock. This located on North side from sigiriya historical place around 3km. It is a Buddhist monastery place and also become a prominent place during a days of King kashyapa. Now it is a temple.

Only took about 40mins walk to get from bottom to top . It was November so it wasn't too busy due to it being off peak season. Amazing views along the way. And you are kept entertained by all the monkeys and wield life as you venture up and down the path.

extremely marvelous place. this is done by king kashyapa. all are systemic , big entrance with lion mouth. ticket prices for foreigners is too much, must amended. you can come via dambulla then you have to turn from inamaluwa junction. after 3-5km ride you can see giant rock. majestic paintings there. do not rewrite walls. too much guide there

The view at the top was pretty nice, and some parts of getting up were actually fun. I recommend doing it as early in the morning as possible, cuz around 9/10 am or so it already gets crowded and you stand in line on the stairs - especially during high season. Charging $30 for this does seem very excessive however. You also have to go a bit far from the entrance behind the museum and wait in a long line - that’s just going very slow - to get your ticket, and there’s no internet connection there. Important! There are guys at the end who might tell you to give your ticket back, as part of the system. They take those tickets and try to sell to tourists “for cheaper” but the tickets won’t actually work. Be careful.

30 dollars for foreigners is absolute rip off. Shame the government has decided to “scam” tourists who bring money into the country. You be better off going to see it from Pidurangala for ‘reasonable’ price and get same overviews.
