This place is a must visit in Kuta, Lombok. It's one of the best warungs in Kuta. The owner is very friendly and cares so much about his local community. The food is sourced locally and is prepared fresh, so you know it's safe.

This place was amazing! The owner is super friendly and genuine and takes the time to tell you about the ingredients used in your dish if you are interested. He has salvaged many of the chairs and tables and cares for the environment immensely, asking that you refill your water bottle with his big jug instead of buying new each time. We had the curry and it was very good. I would highly recommend this spot for a wonderful experience with very welcoming people.

What a lovely place! Run by Harris and his family who clearly have a love for food. They've only been open a few months but have already put a lot of thought into the place. Harris even took the time to show us all the Indonesian herbs and spices they use in their cooking, explaining why they use them and where he gets them from. Was really interesting! Try the beef rendang, you won't regret it

I never leave reviews but I had to for this place because it is AMAZING and people need to know about it. We stayed in Kuta for 2 weeks and ate at almost every restaurant in town and this place is the best. We stumbled upon this place while we were waiting to get massages at Rainbow (super amazing massage if you like strong pressure). The avocado with chocolate shake was amazing and the food is even better. Everything is made fresh right when you order by the owners wife. If you order anything with beef in it you have to order it at least a day in advance because they drive to the market to make sure the meat is never frozen. This is a must eat place in Lombok.

So glad we found sandbox! The best food we have had so far on our two weeks in Bali, Lombok and Flores! The avocado sandwich is so yummy and gooey! We will go back tonight👍😁 the owner is a very sincere man. Try it, you like it!

This place was lovely. Ducked in to escape the rain and immediately felt at home. The owner and his mom (the incredible chef) were so friendly and welcoming. We had the Soto Ayam and it’s the best I’ve tasted. Really fresh local recipes with affordable prices. We even received some complimentary jackfruit while waiting for the main course. The beach vibe with art and cozy floral cushions plus the incredible hospitality makes this so much more than a simple warung. We were sad we discovered this place on our last night in Kuta because we would have loved to return. Next time!

I especially made an account to give this place a good review. We visited in January and found that this couple were the nicest, most authentic, genuine and passionate people! We watched them make our meal from scratch! We turned up late and they stayed open for us, and we chatted while they cooked everything in front of our eyes. The beef rendang was AMAZING!!!!! Five months later and I still can't find one as good. Do yourself a favour and go here for dinner!

Just loved this place Sonics after accidentally found this place during heavy rain (they offered me shelter and Lombok coffee!) The owners are super friendly and so passionate for food and environment. They make dishes from scratch so might have to wait a while but the taste is definitely worth the waiting!

The food here is really good ! We had the grilled chicken and gado gado as both their signature beef rendang and beef rawon were sold out. We polished the plates. we exceptionally love that Harris and his family treat their guests with so much sincerity and hospitality which made the experience even more pleasant :)

I never make reviews, but as many other points out. This is no ordinary place, aside from the food being amazing, the family running this place is the most down to earth lovable people. We had a great chat during our dinner that made us revisit the next day for another amazing dinner. If you find yourself in Lombok, even if it’s far away, take the trip to sandbox, trust me, it will be worth it!

If I could give it six stars, I would. The owner is so friendly and the food was amazing. We ordered the babalung (short ribs) which the owner and his wife bought specially from the market for us. The meat fell off the bone and the Sambal has just the right amount of spice. For some dishes you may want to order a day in advance but this is due to the owners own high standards and the use of only fresh ingredients. He is totally trustworthy and the food was worth the wait. He and his wife make everything to order and this is the best Indonesian food I have had on the island.
