(Translated by Google) Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah is a Kuwaiti cultural institution that was founded in February 23, 1983, and includes a private Kuwaiti art collection, owned by Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his wife Sheikha Hessah Sabah Al-Salem, the general supervisor of the House of Islamic Antiquities. Dar Al-Athar is located in Kuwait City, specifically near the American Hospital, on the banks of the Arabian Gulf Street. Dar Al-Athar is temporarily based in the American Cultural Center, while the Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyya building in the Kuwait National Museum is being rebuilt. The house was established for the purpose of displaying and managing the Al Sabah Collection, which is a collection of Islamic art that has been permanently loaned to the State of Kuwait, under the auspices of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature. The collection preserves all aspects of Islamic art, and includes 20,000 masterpieces belonging to a world stretching from China to Andalusia. Beautiful Islamic art collection in a very nice setting. Probably the best museum in Kuwait. The shop seems to be closed due to low visitors flow. But the museum visit can take from 45 minutes to 1:30 hours depending on your interest and is very informative. A section presents temporary exhibits on loan.

If I would recommend a cultural center to visit in the Capital area, this is the perfect example. That Cultural Centre is going to give you a breathtaking experience of pure nostalgia around the historic buildings of Kuwait and how it all went in the present day. The entry fee is free.

A building with some so much history. We had excellent guides who explained the medical history of Kuwait along with the advancements. The building still has the original parts in some areas. The memoribila is well curated. They also have a section that is curated by kids. Regular sessions and plays here throughout the year

Beautiful building and patio to walk around in the shade. Good information on buildings throughout Kuwait city. I also liked the paper cut-outs that you can take along as a souvenir

The Amricani Cultural Centre, also known as Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyah, is a remarkable institution that holds a significant place in Kuwait's cultural landscape. Established with the aim of promoting Islamic culture and heritage, this center offers a diverse range of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and events. The center's exhibitions are known for their high quality and insightful presentation, covering various aspects of Islamic art, history, and civilization. Whether you're interested in calligraphy, ceramics, textiles, or other forms of art, the Amricani Cultural Centre has something to offer. One of the standout features of the center is its commitment to education. The lectures and workshops conducted here provide visitors with a deeper understanding of Islamic culture and its contributions to global civilization. The knowledgeable and engaging speakers make these sessions not only informative but also enjoyable. The architecture of the Amricani Cultural Centre is worth noting as well. The building itself is a blend of modern design and traditional Islamic architectural elements, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere for visitors. The center's serene surroundings further enhance the overall experience. Whether you're a local resident or a traveler exploring Kuwait, the Amricani Cultural Centre offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the richness of Islamic culture and heritage. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to broaden their cultural horizons and gain a deeper appreciation for the contributions of Islamic civilization.

The quality of the exhibit is impressive. The English is superb. There is plenty of information to take in about what they have on display. The galleries themselves are quite small and two hours should be more than enough to see everything. Sometimes the progression seems a bit haphazard. Only real complaint: the sound on the videos they had about the works were turned down so much a few of them were inaudible.

It's a VERY good place. You can pretty much understand what's the stuff you are looking at with the information provided and dates. It's very quiet usually there and you get to know alot of knowledge of this country :)

Loved the place. There is a museum with artifacts on display some of which are on loan from the royal family. Gift shop attached. There is also a architectural museum highlighting architectural developments around Kuwait , this is a must see for any architecture student or fan. There is also a well library too for children which is a rarity in Kuwait. The DAI also arranges for a ton of events spread out between this centre and its counterpart in yarmouk. Love the concept and the work they do.

This review covers the children library. This is a small library staffed by volunteer staff. The book collection is excellent and spans Arabic and English material. There is a friendly atmosphere that puts everyone at ease. Our children, aged 4.5 and 3 absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back

I was surprised when I see this exhibition with a valuable pieces of Kuwait history. I have only one comment about the height of the theater seats it were uncomfortable at all very high not on the standards we couldn't sit there for a long time to attend the seminar that was there.

My daughter registered in a volunteer program for students at the library, on the start date we arrived on time as per the instructions we received, unfortunately we waited for long time after a long drive in the very hot weather and there was no one to welcome us, or waiting for us, or knowing about anything related to the announced program on social media! We felt very frustrated, my daughter was ready and eager to start, we left because the lady who handles the program forgot about it! In addition there was another student waiting for an hour before us 🙃

The museum is very nice, frankly. Entrance is free. It takes about an hour and a half. It contains antiquities before Islam, the Islamic period, and Roman antiquities. It is very interesting and beautiful. I highly recommend visiting it.

Such an amazing space and the museum is very interesting. I’m amazed we have such places here in Kuwait. The only downside is that the location is tricky. Also, no proper parking.
