If you get a kick out of browsing outdoor markets in foreign countries this would be a place to visit, but it's indoors. There's a vegetable section beef section chicken section fish section eels squid octopus giant fish cross-sections vegetable section fruit section pickle section hot sauce section and that's all just on the ground floor. One floor down there is a giant grocery store with excellent prices and selection. This building sits beside over 100 tiny little restaurants in Temma so they all come here to get their supplies. but of course the residents of this building shop here and others come from afar to haggle and pick up fresh stuff. the prices are certainly lower than for example Life. It's conveniently located on the JR line and it's very fun to wander around a little side streets of restaurants in the evening. you can get lost, in a good way. (This is also the location of Beer Belly, one of the few beer places in the city shaped like an actual bar and with good beer.)

Forget about the extremely touristy Kuromon market , a.k.a. "Osaka's Kitchen" and come to this place for cheap, fresh groceries.

Local Japanese fresh produces! Prices were quite competitive and qualities were impressive! For those who are interested in fresh vegetables and fruits (and dried seafood), give it a try!

Big market with lots of interesting stalls and selection on several floors of this building. I found the green papaya and regular (not garlic) chives I was looking for which are hard to find in Osaka stores in January. Prices are decent but not exceptionally cheap compared to other neighborhood stores in Osaka.

This is where I shop for fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood and Japanese beef at reasonable prices. There is a shop on the ground floor near the toilet which is favoured by locals for its prices. I recently paid 105 yen for 2 packs of bananas (total of 10 bananas) here!! Also on the ground floor is a fresh fish seller who will discount heavily around 2pm to clear all its stock. Really worth a visit.

This market is an amazing place to buy a HUGE variety of fresh produce, meat, fish etc at very good prices. Even hard to find or unique produce are here! Make sure to browse around the prices at all the shops and first floor and basement before making a purchase. When I want to cook a special meal for friends, I come here for the best value and diversity of options.

Love the nuances of the local market. Tenma area is famous for its night life but its a good place for some good local food and restaurant (also a nice photography spot) if you go there at daytime.
