台風の影響で連休の遠方への旅行を急遽キャンセルして、宿泊2日前に僅かな空きを探して予約。皆生温泉は初めて、口コミの『お料理が美味しい』を楽しみにチェックイン。
予定時刻少し過ぎに到着、玄関前でスタンバイされていた方に○○様ですねと言って頂き、確認の上直ぐに駐車場に誘導。この辺りは気遣いを感じました。説明も丁寧。
お部屋に通されて、入室するなりちょっと後悔。【ザ・古き旅館】、畳敷なのに床が鳴る、扉の開閉に気を使う、昨年末から5回目の温泉宿泊ですが、全くリニューアルされてないお部屋は初めてでした。
大浴場は入替無し。お湯は熱め、湯量豊富、但し他の方も指摘している通り明るい時間帯は露天風呂に行く時、上半身を屈めた方が良さそう?な不思議な造りです。
お食事は、<旬を味わう>境港水揚げ紅ズワイガニと鳥取和牛のスタンダードプラン‥それぞれのお品も程良い味付けで、素材の良さも生かされて、満腹感いっぱい。お給仕のかたのタイミング良いサービスで日本酒も進みます。
朝食は、テーブル上で生ワカメの上で干しかれいをあぶって提供、白米も美味しくてつい食べ過ぎました。
施設に投資するのはなかなか難しいと思いますが(客室のエアコンは更新されてました)お部屋とお風呂の評価は2~3、お食事は4。
