Small museum (inside of the castle), but really cool especially if you scuba dive to the site of the wreck.

Small Museum packed with fascinating artifacts... The Shipwreck Museum houses the remains and cargo of what was once the oldest shipwreck ever discovered and raised. At almost 2,400 years old, the Ancient Greek trading vessel and its cargo provide a rare insight into life during the time of Alexander the Great. Kyrenia Castle alone is more than worth a visit, so if you're here, be sure to take an hour to tour this little museum,

The museum is inside the castle. There is an actual piece of the ship lifted from the bottom of the sea, with other items used back in the old times

The museum is not big, but visiting it might have some educational value for kids and adolescents. There are the remnants of the ship and a few amphoras. Frankly speaking, I deem that there is nothing special to stay inside for more than 15 minutes.

Very nice museum of shipwreck, not too big, but air conditioned and nice exponats. Inside castle, no extra ticket needed.

The artifacts themselves are very interesting including amphoris and other tools from the shipwreck as well as the remains of the ship. The exhibition itself is very badly kept. Some of the wax statues are spoiled by bird droppings and its been months if not more since the whole museum was last busted. A replica of the shipwreck exhibited here can be found in the Athalassa Museum in Agia Napa in the Southern Part of the island.

The museum is inside the kyrenia kalesi. They have original items that the wrecked ship carried about 2300 years ago. They also house the ships wooden hull but the entrance to see this is small and get a bit crowded as they have one door for entry and exit.

The Kyrenia Shipwreck stands as a truly remarkable artifact of the ancient world, offering a profound glimpse into the historical maritime trade that flourished between Cyprus and Greece. This ancient Greek shipwreck, among the oldest in the world, is a treasure that embodies the enduring connection and exchange of goods between these two regions. However, it is with a heavy heart that one must acknowledge the unfortunate condition in which this invaluable piece of history currently resides. Housed within the confines of a castle, the shipwreck has suffered from inadequate care and maintenance. The neglect it has endured since the tragic events of 1974, coupled with evident signs of unprofessional handling, is deeply concerning. As a globally significant heritage artefact, the Kyrenia Shipwreck deserves nothing less than the utmost care and attention from experts in the field. It is imperative that this historical treasure be moved to a specially designed facility equipped with the ideal environmental conditions and preservation techniques before further deterioration occurs. Regrettably, the under construction of the impressive Nicosia New Museum will possess the necessary resources and capabilities to provide a suitable home for the Kyrenia Shipwreck. Yet, the issue of territorial disputes appears to hinder progress, as the Turkish Authorities reluctance to cooperate jeopardizes the preservation of this invaluable piece of history. In summary, the Kyrenia Shipwreck deserves an unreserved 5-star rating for its historical significance and the profound insights it offers into ancient trade. However, the lamentable condition in which it currently exists warrants only 2 stars, highlighting the urgent need for professional care and a suitable, purpose-built environment for its preservation. It is my hope that international cooperation and consensus will prevail, ensuring that this extraordinary artefact receives the attention and care it so rightfully merits.

Fascinating little museum located inside the castle. The museum is dedicated to the discovery, recovery and preservation of a merchant ship, over 2000 years old. Full of items from the ship's cargo and also contains a large part of the wooden hull. Well worth visiting the castle just for the museum.
