I opted for this establishment based on my late-flight arrival and its position slightly further away from the main hub of the city. The property has a nice exterior/interior and seemed like a nice family home. It is, however, a fully-functioning family abode, so expect children and work/school routines to be present. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. There wasn't a wardrobe, or anywhere to hang clothes though 🤔. In conclusion, I would say that this homestay is for very particular clientele - i.e. people who might think (as I did) that it would be beneficial to choose somewhere a little closer to the airport/bus station, when realistically, Bishkek is small enough for this not to be an issue. For the price paid and the minimal breakfast - there are a multitude of more advantageous accommodation options elsewhere - so I wouldn't necessarily recommend Kurak Homestay unless you have specific location needs. The owner, though busy, was pleasant and spoke English well. 🙏👍

Very hot and stuffy rooms, even at night due to the all-present mosquito nets, you have to use the air conditioner all the time. The whole house is not ventilated at all. Wi-Fi does not work in the rooms. There are a lot of moments about renovations around the house, the bathroom is clogged, doors creaked everywhere. If we talk about human things, they are very greedy people. They steal knives/forks from the plane. The whole kitchen is overflowing with them. And overall it’s a clean and pleasant place, although it’s remote from the city and there’s nothing nearby.

The owner is very nice, helps with any questions and gives tips for the rest of your vacation. This is the second time here. He even let us into the house even though he wasn't there himself. He speaks Russian and English very well. This is a good way to establish contact.

What a good time we had here at Kurak Homestay. We did a cooking class where we learned how to cook local, kyrgiz food...and it was delicious! Another experience was creating whool carpet, which they also offer here in the Homestay. Besides this it was a really familiar feeling with the 4 little girls. Thank you for this amazing time! I would recommend this place to everyone who is looking for an authentic experience in Kyrgistan.

We stayed with this lovely Kyrgyz family for two nights. We really liked this accommodation. The room was clean and spacious :) the room also had air conditioning. They were really nice and helpful :) I definitely recommend this place to stay!
