My
partner
and
I
decided
to
go
out
for
dinner
and
drinks
for
Valentine’s.
This
was
our
second
experience
at
Lovechild
and
we
had
pretty
high
expectations
as
the
first
visit
and
food
was
nothing
short
of
spectacular.
We
arrived
at
4:30pm
and
there
was
already
a
line,
but
thankfully
we
were
able
to
be
seated
right
away
when
they
opened
at
5pm.
We
ordered
three
appetizers,
the
hamachi
crudo,
poached
pear
endive
salad,
and
the
triple
cooked
French
fries
with
horseradish
cream.
The
fish
was
clean
and
beautifully
sliced.
There
was
a
crunchy
topping
that
was
not
mentioned
on
the
menu,
but
it
was
delicious
all
the
same
whatever
it
was.
The
salad
left
something
to
be
desired.
There
were
hardly
any
walnuts
to
be
found
and
that
the
beautiful
Bohemian
Blue
sheep’s
milk
cheese
was
used
so
sparingly.
Too
sparingly.
For
the
fries,
if
you
love
wedge
potatoes,
these
were
meant
for
you,
but
a
slight
warning
on
the
horseradish
cream.
It
may
just
completely
clean
out
your
senses.
Quick
side
note:
the
service
was
immaculate
and
the
server,
attentive,
and
very
friendly.
For
our
entrees,
we
decided
to
get
the
Mezze
rigatoni
and
the
sautéed
trout
with
warm
potato
salad.
We
had
ordered
the
pappardelle
last
time,
so
we
expected
the
other
pasta
dish
to
be
up
to
par,
but
it
was
just
a
very
ordinary
dish.
It
needed
more.
More
pasta,
more
sauce,
some
fresh
herbs,
and
served
with
warm
bread.
The
trout
on
the
other
hand
was
perfection.
The
capers,
the
lemon,
the
sear,
and
crispy
skin.
It
was
a
delight
to
devour
that
plate.
Lastly,
disaster,
I
mean
dessert.
We
decided
on
the
citrus
crème
brûlée
and
the
Portuguese
donuts
served
with
lemon
curd.
The
crème
brûlée
was
and
is
a
classic
that
included
a
couple
pieces
of
biscotti
on
the
side.
My
partner
went
ahead
for
the
donuts
while
I
enjoyed
the
custard
and
tried
the
lemon
curd
and
that
is
when
things
went,
well
sour.
I
tried
it
myself
and
I
completely
lost
my
appetite.
It
tasted
spoiled
and
unnatural
and
I
was
not
able
to
finish
dessert.
We
asked
for
our
server
to
take
the
curd
away
and
even
though
we
did
not
ask,
she
also
took
it
off
our
check.
Our
first
experience
I
rated
Lovechild
five
stars.
This
time,
it
was
three,
so
I’m
giving
four
stars
between
the
two.
