Just
finished
an
8
day
stay
here.
Summary
below:
First
Impression,
1/5:
The
road
to
the
resort
is
terrible.
Not
a
complaint,
just
something
to
be
aware
of.
On
arrival
you
are
given
an
orientation
where
they
guilt
you
into
attending
a
timeshare
sales
pitch
the
next
day.
They
literally
tell
you
"We
will
give
you
the
keys
to
your
room
after
you
sit
here."
[Queue
the
timeshare
pitch.]
In
exchange
for
"half
price"
massages
(half
price
of
outrageously
priced
massages)
they
want
a
$20
"deposit"
and
a
promise
to
attend
which
I
gave
just
to
end
the
meeting
so
we
could
get
into
our
room
and
relax
after
a
day
of
traveling.
Talking
with
others,
the
duration
of
the
sales
pitch
can
extend
anywhere
up
to
3
hours.
No
thanks
not
on
my
limited
time.
Amenities:
1/5:
Gym,
gift
shop,
spa
and
pools.
There
is
a
hot
tub
but
its
for
members
only.
Gym
is
nice
-
lots
of
equipment,
clean,
and
no
one
else
was
in
there.
Pools:
Scenic
pools
are
well
maintained.
Get
up
at
the
crack
of
dawn
to
reserve
your
chair
as
seating
is
limited.
(Seriously
-
by
9:00
a.m.
or
earlier
on
weekends
there
are
no
chairs
left.)
Gift
Shop:
Upon
arrival
we
realized
we
forgot
sunscreen
and
went
to
the
gift
shop
After
conversion
we
were
made
to
pay
nearly
$40
USD
(600
MEX)
for
a
$10
bottle
of
sunscreen.
I''ll
get
a
picture
of
that
before
I
leave.
Still
cant
believe
it.
Spa:
The
Spa
charges
$200
USD
and
up
for
massages
(unless
you
spend
several
hours
in
the
timeshare
pitch).
For
us
these
are
outrageous
prices
which
we
won't
forget.
Location
5/5:
Beautiful
setting
by
the
beach,
however
be
aware
it
is
at
least
$30
for
Uber
to
Sayulita
and
more
than
$50
to
PV
-
one
way.
The
location
is
remote
and
its
pricey
to
leave
and
return.
Room
Quality:
3/5
A
small
issue
is
the
only
english
channels
are
the
mainstream
news
channels
and
some
sports.
Our
first
room
(Canada
building)
had
an
overwhelming
smell
of
mildew
which
was
attempted
to
be
masked
with
sage
oil.
We
requested
a
transfer
to
a
different
room
and
they
did
without
question
which
was
greatly
appreciated.
Unfortunately,
there
is
a
faint
mildew
smell
in
the
second
room
as
well.
It
may
just
be
a
feature
of
this
place
so
close
to
the
ocean
or
the
fact
they
had
a
hurricane
last
week.
It
also
might
be
due
to
the
mold
forming
on
the
backside
of
the
curtains
(see
photos)
Aside
from
that,
the
rooms
are
well
serviced
and
have
a
nice
layout.
Service
5/5:
Aside
from
the
timeshare
incident,
all
service
staff
were
exceptional.
Extra
special
service
from
Alberto
at
the
buffet
and
Roger
beside
the
infinity
pool.
Food
5/5:
We
did
not
get
a
chance
to
hit
the
restaurants,
but
the
buffet
was
excellent.
There
were
quality
ingredients
and
large
selection
of
choices
every
day.
Outstanding
food
overall.
In
the
final
analysis,
this
was
a
much
needed
r&r
trip
which
met
our
needs.
The
staff
in
particular
were
easily
the
high
point.
Very
friendly
and
helpful.
However,
we
will
not
be
back
due
to
the
timeshare
welcoming
party,
the
mold
on
the
curtains,
and
the
ridiculous
price
we
paid
for
sunscreen.
