This
was
another
spontaneous
discovery
while
driving
in
the
city
of
LaHabra,
CA.
It
was
Friday
evening
around
dinner
time.
My
wife
and
I
were
actually
headed
to
another
restaurant
when
we
were
passing
by
this
great
restaurant.
It
was
already
dark
and
the
green
neon
illuminated
the
night
in
this
area
so
bright
you
can't
drive
by
without
noticing
this
place.
I
also
noticed
through
the
windows
there
were
quite
a
bit
of
happy
people
inside.
So
we
decided
to
try
this
place.
What
I
first
noticed
was
nice
mural
artwork
on
the
exterior
walls.
The
hand
painted
art
continues
as
you
enter
this
place.
The
atmosphere
was
warm
and
inviting.
The
music
was
not
too
loud
and
just
loud
enough
to
hear
without
having
to
raise
your
voice
to
conversate.
The
lighting
was
just
right,
too.
We
were
quickly
greeted
by
the
host
with
a
smile
upon
entering
and
like
any
great
restaurant,
we
were
asked
to
wait
until
seated.
The
wait
wasn't
too
long
about
15
minutes.
They
have
benches
outside
to
sit
on.
We
met
a
young
family
while
waiting
and
asked
if
they
been
here
before?
They
said
they
come
all
the
time
and
said
the
seafood
is
great
and
everything
they
have
had
has
always
been
good
👍🏼.
We
heard
our
name
called
and
were
seated.
The
chips
and
salsa
came
out
quickly.
We
always
pay
attention
to
the
chips
and
salsa
whenever
we
try
a
new
place.
If
the
chips
are
fresh
and
hot
🔥
and
the
salsa
is
good,
then
most
likely
the
food
will
be
too.
The
chips
and
salsa
were
good.
We
finished
the
entire
basket.
Salsa
had
a
great
flavor
with
a
little
kick
of
heat
on
the
backend
and
not
hot
when
you
first
taste
it.
Nice.
We
ordered
guacamole
for
our
appetizer
to
go
along
with
those
great
tasting
chips.
The
guacamole
was
creamy,
it
was
good
too.
I
personally
enjoy
a
more
chunky
guacamole
but
it
had
a
great
flavor
nonetheless.
We
were
waited
on
by
Kevin.
He
was
friendly
and
helpful
and
explained
the
menu
to
us.
This
is
a
family
owned
restaurant
and
Kevin
shared
with
us
how
he
used
to
get
to
the
restaurant
everyday
after
school
and
sit
next
to
where
we
were
seated
to
do
his
homework.
Then
help
out.
He
grew
up
in
this
restaurant.
They
have
4
locations
Hawaiian
Gardens,
La
Habra,
Norwalk
and
Paramount.
My
wife
ordered
a
Shrimp
Cocktail
and
I
ordered
the
Tampiqueña
plate.
The
shrimp
cocktail
in
a
Mexican
restaurant
is
seved
chilled,
in
a
dish
with
freshly
chopped
vegetables
and
in
a
clam
juice
broth.
It
was
full
of
flavorful
shrimp
and
chunks
of
fresh
avocado
🥑
with
just
the
right
amount
of
fresh
cilantro,
onions,
cucumber
and
diced
tomato.
The
Tampiqueña
plate
had
great
aromas
with
the
steam
rising
from
the
plate
as
it
was
served.
The
bold
colorful
plate,
the
fresh
green
onion
stood
out
on
top
of
the
nicely
grilled
steak.
The
steak
was
juicy
and
full
of
flavor.
I
cut
off
the
first
piece
of
steak
and
asked
my
wife
to
enjoy
the
first
bite.
I
knew
by
her
expression,
I
was
going
to
enjoy
this
meal!
The
refried
beans
were
topped
with
melted
chesse.
The
rice
had
great
color
and
tasted
perfect,
it
was
light
and
fluffy.
The
orange
colored
rice
had
a
few
vegetables
mixed
in
it
just
like
my
grandmother
used
to
make.
The
steak
was
hiding
a
chesse
enchilada
underneath
it.
The
entire
dish
did
not
go
to
waste!
No
doggybag
was
needed.
I
finished
the
entire
plate.
I
ordered
corn
tortillas
which
I
totally
ignored
until
I
was
done.
I
took
one
tortilla
out
of
the
yellow
paper
it
was
rolled
up
in
and
it
was
still
warm!
🔥
I
used
it
to
mop
up
all
of
the
leftover
sauce
on
my
plate.
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
this
meal.
While
we
were
waiting
for
our
food
to
arrive,
we
kept
seeing
all
kinds
of
wonderful
dishes
being
served.
We
can’t
wat
to
come
back
and
try
other
dishes.
Great
food,
great
friendly
staff,
nice
warm
atmosphere
make
for
a
perfect
meal.
Kevin
did
say
it
is
really
busy
on
the
weekends.
So
plan
on
waiting
when
you
come.
But
it
will
be
worth
the
wait.
