I just discovered this very cool super tasty Cuban restaurant “Isla Cubana”!!! The empanadas are awesome,the ceviche is great full of shrimp and the Tostones were absolutely delicious! 😊😊😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The drinks are fabulous too!!!🏆🏆🏆

Delicious Cuban food! Mofongo was chef’s kiss amazing, and the plantain chips were also perfectly paired. I recommend the any steak/beef and ceviche. Decor was very classy, but I didn’t feel out of place. Parking is not a problem here.

This place was great! Omg the everything 👌 It was literally all delicious and beautiful! I will note that they had doors open on a hot day and no AC but I love the heat and I felt great. Did I mention how lovely the location. From the pictures, it may look a bit bigger than it is, but still lovely and the servers were kind and attentive.

Delicious food! Went for lunch midweek and experienced no wait. Got to choose our table outside. Split the yuca (vegetarian) appetizer, mango ceviche and the Salmon Al Ajillo.

This was our first time there and it was busy for a Friday night. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time. Since it was just two of us we were able to sit at the bar and have our dinner served there. The bartenders were fantastic and the food was delicious! I would definitely come back again

I have been wanting to go here for over a year. I finally went today. I went in at 3pm so no wait. While I was not greeted immediately they made up for it by the service and delicate food. I got to enjoy my meal on the patio. I ordered The Cubano. It did not disappoint. The bread was toasted correctly. The meat and cheese inside was perfect. Love definitely was present in this dish. Frank was a great server because he left me alone to enjoy every single bite of my meal. I got the strongest drink possible for me on the menu. I think this establishment is fairly priced. It was very clean and a great atmosphere. I will tell everyone about this place. So good! I cannot wait to come back.

Easy to find location. Parking is ample and within eye distance to location. Food was amazingly delicious...from Appetizers to main course and the drinks...way too many list - strong and favorable. The only thing that bothered me was the wait,.. granted, the music was fine the people were courteous and the location was splendid... just waiting for 1 hr to be seated, 30 to 45 min for a drink and Appetizers... I felt was excessive. Make a reservation if possible and be prepared to wait.

Best Cuban food in Orange County. Less than $170 for a party of 5 people (not including tip). I highly recommend the Iron Beer soda, the Cuban coffee with milk, and the Tres Leches cake.

This was our first time here and I could not be more delighted with all the friendly service and the quality of the food and drinks. I'm puertorican and the Mofongo took me on a trip to my beloved island Puerto Rico. I loved the fact that the Chef came to introduce himself to all of us and to make sure all of our food was to our likings. Thank you Chef !! We were also so pleased on how wheelchair friendly it was and how the staff was so accommodating for all of us, that is A+ for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience in your establishment 🇵🇷

We just wrapped an amazing experience at Isla. The staff were very accommodating for our last minute visit and provided us with a high chair for our little one. From start to finish every we tried was amazing and they definitely lived up to the stellar reviews. Highly recommend to anyone in the mood for great Caribbean cuisine and great service. The oxtails were amazing and my wife loved the garlic salmon. Candela was our favorite drink we tried from the menu with Mazatlán being a close second. Despite this place being almost an hour away from home we will definitely be making the drive back to return.

Food was good, but the only interesting thing on the menu was the ox tail (which was much tastier than their lomos saltado). On the plus side, they have a large outdoor seating area with good amount of space between the tables.

Checked out their website and wanted to give this place a try. We ordered the croquettes and chicken as appetizers, their famous oxtail stew as entree, and flan as dessert. The oxtails were to die for. Tender and juicy. Chicken was a little dry though. Our server Ethan was attentive and friendly. Bravo Ethan!

Amazing experience, what you go out for. Ambiance is incredible from the real candles to the beautify adorned wallpaper up to the tin ceiling. The drinks were over the top, fresh and very balanced. Food was fast and exceptional, with friendly, fast service I have not seen in years. Thank you for the experience!

This is an update to my previous review. I reviewed when it was first open. When we arrived the restaurant was busy and about half full. We sat at the bar and waited to order. We noticed that the restuarant continued to fill up and soon had a seating problem. This being midweek we hoped that meant good this. It did, and didn't. Overall the cons for the visit was the wait. It was probably a contributing factor to the seating issue. The kitchen and servers seemed slow. Sitting at the bar usually means prompt service and constant offers of drinks. Neither happened. We waited to get drinks, get food and to reorder drinks. Not a great experience. The pros: Though a bit on the pricey side, the food was well made, flavorful and seemed to be made to order. If you have the time and this type of food is something you enjoy give it a try, but make sure you aren't pressed for time.

The drinks were good. But the food was bad. It felt rushed and it was very bland. I spoke to who I guess was the owner. He had an arrogant attitude and when I told him I we wouldn't be back he said he was ok with that! Tried to make me feel like I was lying. Said he checked the food with his wife. Said it was fine. No customer service skills. I saw other people were complaining about their food as well. I wouldn't recommend this place. In fact run. My girl is Cuban and said the same thing. The owner was oblivious to the problem and didn't care. I'm sure karma will catch up with him. The band was good though.

Our favorite cuban resturant closed down due to covid so we gave this one a try and we have a new favorite, the Ropa Veija was excellent

Cute little Cuban place. The food was delicious 😋 the drinks a little pricey but good. The staff was very friendly and it passed the vibe check. They played great music, made you forget you were still in Cali. It was a little dark for me but they do offer patio seating. We only had an hour and half to eat and drink, so reason for one star less, felt a little rushed to finish our birthday celebration.

Their Cuban sandwich is legit. It's been a long time since I've found a place that can do it right but they definitely got it down. I also got an order of their pork tostones which was really nice. Separate shout out to Oscar at the bar who's really knowledgeable on whiskey and has got a good collection at this place.

Beautiful interior and ambiance, attentive service and water globes were always filled. The food was delicious. We ordered the Morongo with garlic shrimp- beautiful presentation- and the marista de puerco. Ordered rice pudding to go, I was told it was delicious! Several tables were filled almost as soon as they opened- we came shortly after it opened at 11:30am. Saw many people enjoying their meals. Would definitely go back again to try other entrees.

It’s been such a treat being introduced to Isla & friends. I will never forget memories made here! From cocktails that were tailor-made (ask for the Veradura if you appreciate dark liquor balanced with citrus & warm nutmeg) to off menu entrees like the surf and turf pictured here.. SO on palette! Oh, and of course don’t forget to dance in between sips with the ever-wonderful band giving all the sabor you could ask for!

Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation. We were told that the wait was 45 minutes…no go for me. I asked if we could sit at the bar and learned that it was full service!! We sat at the bar and I ordered a gin drink called “La Patrona” ~ that sounded like my signature drink and I really enjoyed it…SO good!! The staff was very attentive. My husband ordered the steak mofongo, he was less than thrilled and said he would never return. I ordered the ensalada de mango caribeña with chicken and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We left at about 8:30 and it looked like musicians were preparing to play. I guess I’ll have to return with friends since the husband won’t be back.

I have been looking for a Cuban Restaurant in my area for such a long time. I love Oxtails like kids love candy😛. I found Isla on the web and I ordered a few different entrees. Omg...they did not disappoint with the flavors. The first time a small incident happened and manager Awilda stepped in and never questioned me. She is so professional and her customer service skills are beyond most of my experiences. The Oxtails are AWESOME!!!! I have eaten there 3 times in one week 🙌.

Pina colada was great! I had the Cubano sandwich, hubby had steak sandwich. Could have more meat on mine . So for us that drive from Ventura county...we'll stick to the neighboring Italian restaurant there.

Tea service and taste of the food is outstanding! I was fortunate enough to meet the owners and manager. The staff is an extension of their kindness and willingness to make your experience absolutely wonderful. I saw while I was eating a couple of dishes being served to other guests, dishes that I must come back and try :')) They looked absolutely delicious! I must add this, the owners care enough about your experience that they personally come to your table to make sure everything is okay along with finding out if there's anything they can do to make the experience any better. This to me is a sign of true ownership! I could not eat another bite so I am forced to go back several times just to enjoy them. On the positive side, it's nice to want to go back to a place you had a wonderfully positive experience at and also look fwd to seeing the Mgr & hopefully the owners again.

Once we devoured everything, we ordered Ethiopian coffee to complete our delicious meal. The lady actually brought out the coffee beans she was roasting for us to smell. The aroma of the beans was wonderful. We were super excited to taste the coffee and I had a feeling it was going to be strong because they serve it straight with no add ons beside some sugar. The coffee really hit the spot!! This place never disappoints!! Yes you do have to wait a while for your food and yes the service can be a little on the slow side but the food is absolutely amazing!! If you have never had Ethiopian food I would highly recommend checking this place out!!!

He was very attentive, courteous and friendly. Our dinner was excellent. Each serving came with white rice And black beans, fried delicious platinum bananas. My husband had Ropa vieja( a type of well seasoned shredded beef) and I had Pork macitas , absolutely delicious. Recommended. To drink a Mojito. Perfect cocktail. Five Stars for Ricardo.
