I expected to experience authentic Southeast Asian dishes here at Satay Brothers but all dishes in the tasting menu failed me, except for the satay skewers. At first, my reservation was for 6 people, but 1 of our friends cancelled in the very last minute. With a party of 5, we were still made to pay for the 7-course tasting menu, which is $45/person (definitely not worth it). The papaya salad is the most popular dish but I felt like the sweet, sour & salt ratio was just not right. It was the worst papaya salad my friends and I had had ever. (4/10) The stir- fry veggie tasted like it was not seasoned at all ?! (2/10) The satay skewers were the least disappointing dishes although it tasted just like any other average skewers. (6/10) Other dishes like the ribs, fried chicken, rendang (braised beef), and stir- fried noodles were so so (4-5/10). They were not terrible, but not something that I would come back for. Btw, the ribs sauce was def overcooked. I felt like any homecooks could do even better than Satay Brothers’ kitchen. None of them worthed the given price.

The laksa was so good! The baos were even better! The whole vibe and aesthetic of this place is perfect. We got there at 4:30 and they told us that they had a reservation for 6 at our table, but we were completely fine with it! It was more than enough time and they still made us feel like home, no rush and friendly service. When I return to Montreal I will be going back!

Great for larger groups — arrive promptly, because their set menu takes a while to get through (and is a lot of food). House beer is decent, and their food is incredible

One of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. The food is authentic and delicious. The decor and ambiance fell like you’ve been transported.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday and they were very busy. Had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table. It was worth it since the food is amazing as always. The service was also great. Our waiter had a great sense of humour and made us enjoy our experience even more. Thought I can handle the spice in the soup but was too spicy for me in the end. Shouldn’t have mixed in the extra spice they provide in your spoon. But the flavours were so good if you can taste them over the numbness of your tongue from the spice :p

The water had a weird smell to it. Food was ok tasting. Service was good but I like to have the option to tip vs have the waiter including their own amount and impose it when the terminal arrives. Especially if they add a 20% tip. Was not impressed by that. Place has a nice vibe and was not too loud.

The music was extremely loud when we visited. Impossible to make any conversation even with the person sitting next to you. Food was alright, would have enjoyed it better if we could've talked to each other. We made a reservation for 11 people and one person didn't show up. They split the 11th person's charge evenly over our bills; even though they only brought food for the 10 of us. Unfortunately, I would not go again.

We were just walking along notre dame, we were hungry, we checked Google Maps for a different place, saw the high stars and we found a gem! A very chill and hip atmosphere, great service and amazing food! Explosive flavours, interesting drinks and cool périple. We ordered all kinds of plates and are only half way through and I’m writing this positive review. We will be back! Back again for the amazing soups! Sooooo good.

Great atmosphere, full of interesting art works on the walls and ceiling. The staff are very nice and the food is great and not too expensive with many options. They use no single use use plastics. They also have round tables which is great for a small group.

The food was delicious. The dense and spicy chicken soup is perfect for a cold winter day. The ribs was well marinated. The sandwich looked like a normal sandwich but was surprisingly tasty! The only issue was that we were sat in a very ill lit corner of the restaurant. It was very difficult to see the menu or even the food. The picture were taken using nightmode, it was a very very dim corner. They certainly need more lights there.

First time trying Singaporean restaurant and was definitely impressed by its unique flavours. The ambiance and service were fantastic, and the staff, were all dudes dressed in shorts and t-shirts, giving a relaxed and welcoming vibe. The chicken satay was absolutely amazing, the other dishes and cocktails were good as well. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing place. Great staff and ambiance. Music is a bit too loud but very good. Everything was delicious. Papaya salad and pork buns are a must. Highly recommend to share the plates. We shared 5 plates and the desert plate for 3 people and it cost us under 40$ before tax and tip. Place gets packed everyday, reco to get there before 7:30-8pm.

A friend of mine who is a chef in Toronto recommended me to this place, and it did not disappoint. Food tasted amazing. The chicken skewers were so flavourful and tender, that peanut sauce was killer! Service and ambiance were phenomenal, and I truly enjoyed my experience here. A definite go-to in Montreal.

Great vibe. We ordered a combination of veggie and meat dishes. The tempeh satay and tofu bun was delicious. Fried rice was also really good and different. The laksa and chicken satay were good, but not great. Overall, ill certainly be back for one more try!

I would give this place 1000 stars if I could. Incredible food (our favourite was the shrimp skewers), but more importantly- incredible vibes and amazing restaurant staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and music was on point. Thank you Alex for the best restaurant experience ever! Please come to Toronto. :)

A delicious menu that can be the top of many lists but the sandwich is worth the extra effort. A beautiful mix of seasonings dances on the tongue as you savour each bite of this abundant beast. Very well cooked meat and perfectly crispy bread is enjoyable rain or shine. ( Thanks to the tents at Atwater market we were able to enjoy it in the former)

A must for those who love Asian food but crave something different from the traditional flavors found in Chinatown. I suggest coming as a group and ordering many dishes to share. The umami is through the roof and can feel heavy if not paired with white rice. My personal favorites are the pork belly steamed buns and the laksa.

Love the atmosphere and chill vibes here, chills vibes did not mean inattentive service. The service was better than most restaurants I’ve been too. A must try’s are the bao’s and ribs. The pork belly in the bao is so tender and juicy. Delicious food and drinks at this place. A must try while in Montreal.

Interesting concept. First come, first served for seating since no reservations accepted ... although there were 2 large groups celebrating occasions which makes me wonder if reservations are accepted in those instances. After a 30 minute wait, we were seated at the very back at the restaurant. Last table in the house, thankfully not the one with the wall blocking the view of the rest of the restaurant. Must have is the chicken satay as well as the pork ribs. Papaya salad is good but missing something. The rice noodles were great as well as the pork buns. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Waiter was on the ball in making sure to sub what was possible to accommodate our allergies. Only disappointment was the spiked lemonade, not enough alcohol for the tall glass it's served in. Tasted more like lemonade than anything spiked.

I loved this place! The service was fantastic, the vibe was great and the food was amazing. We had a group of nine including some tired kids and the manager welcomed us and seated us as quickly as he could. Stand out dishes for me was the Papaya Salad, the Kimchi Fried Rice, the Satay Fried Chicken. Loved the atmosphere with the 90s hip hop.

Had a wonderful time there. The service is amazing and the plates are very good. Some of the dishes are a bit expensive but the quality totally makes it worth it. We were only two so we were placed at the bar, which was a little loud but nothing that prevented us from enjoying our night. Thank you for the experience !

The atmosphere is really great and the food was amazing. It was well seasoned and very flavourful. Our waiter was incredibly useful and explained to us the concept as well as recommended us dishes. We were 3 and we shared the meat satay, steam buns (our absolute favourite), fried rice, a papaya salad (very limey but good) as well as rendang. It filled us up and we were very pleased with the experience. Would definitely come back.

Amazing food that is truly authentic to South-East Asia. Great place to come if you're willing to try new things. The buns were amazing and we had the green curry pork fried rice. Definitely recommend.

No resos for groups under 6, and I recommend getting there early. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Thursday and it was packed, we waited roughly 15-20 minutes for a spot for 2. They let you order drinks while waiting though, which is a great start. Must try’s on the menu are the satay skewers with peanut sauce, the fried pork and shrimp rice rolls (not pictured, but we both agreed it was the best thing we tasted!), papaya salad, and the regular pork steam buns. The shrimp buns were part of their specials, but it’s not as balanced and tasty as the pork buns. If you’re stuck between the two, go pork. For the noodles, I would go for the mussel and chorizo noodles instead of the shrimp and cuttlefish. But really, everything on the menu is excellent. We also have our amazing experience to thank to our server Carl, who went above and beyond in the service. 100% recommend!

A cute resto bar place. We ordered Laab Lao and Papaya Salad. The Laab was good but the salad was extremely sour. In fact, it’s the only flavour we could taste. The wait line is long so make sure to get there early if you don’t want to wait.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place. The service was some of the best service I have ever had in a restaurant. Warm and welcoming. My wife is disabled and they did everything they could to make sure that she was comfortable. The server gave us great recommendations and we chose the papaya salad, bbq pork buns, chicken satay, the fried rice and the coconut milk braised beef. The food was delicious and hot and it came out so quickly even though it very busy. We looked around at the other customers and all we could see was smiles and people having a great time. I would give this restaurant six out of five if I could. Do yourself a favour and eat here.

This place is absolutely incredible for large groups! We had our holiday work party here and the service, food, and vibe were exceptional. The group menu was 9 courses and extremely affordable, especially considering what you get. It was a great way to taste their wonderful dishes! Will definitely return.

We went on a Wesnesday night and we waited like 5 minutes. Let’s talk about this place! A.ma.zing! A MUST try in my opinion! The vibe is so nice, the place is well decorated and everyone is enjoying. You have to try their buns! I wish I took more pictures of what we ate, but we were digging into our plates, literally. Lol.

I went to this place with coworkers and after my meal plus 1 Sake my bill was $75.00 . Service I rate 8 out of 10 atmosphere 8 out of ten and the food 7 out of 10. This place was lively and beautifuly Layed out. The food was fresh and served either nice and hot or nicely chilled which was excellent. The flavor of the Thai papaya salad was good although I think it could have been marinated a bit longer to allow for the full flavor of spices to come together. The skewered chicken was my favorite along with the peanut sauce. If you have some time to stop by and want some freshly prepare cuisine with a Asian flair try Satat Brothers...you wontt be disapppointed.

The lamb skewers is full of fat and laksa is not quite well cooked with shelled shrimp. The bun and ribs are good. Papaya salad is good too.

visited montreal and my family told me I needed to go here and wowza, food incredible, music amazing, wait wasn’t too long and everything came out to us fresh and fast!!!! we had some spicy margaritas that were good but didn’t steal the show in my opinion. the pork bahn mi was super good but needed a bit more sauce and chicken satay was better than the lamb! lol

Very tasty satay. The side peanut sauce was on point as well. Don't hesitate to inquire about the special fried rice of the day. It's a great option for a side or dish to share. Also love the fact that you can cash out using the QR code on your table without having to flag a server. Great idea to add fluidity in service and let people decide when they are ready for the bill.

Just had their steam pork buns. Disappointed. Small the price. Pork was dry. The sauce doesn't make it moist. It's okay but not worth the detour.

Busy hipster joint. Fair selection of beer, with a couple locals. Great pork buns. Soup was tasty, papaya salad was ok. Service was good, quick and nonchalant. Price was a little high given the area. Worth checking out for a lively evening.

Amazing food! We had a few appetizers and drinks. The food is a 10/10 But the Staff was a show stealer Carl and Julia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I happened to mention that I have shell fish allergy I had 4 servers coming to my table informing me about everything in detail about the food(ingredients) and checking on me. I will come back for the staff and the food again and again and again❤️
