We had a family lunch at Happy Rajah with visitors from Switzerland. The service was efficient and the food was tasty. There’s a great selection of starters, mains and desserts. They also serve alcoholic beverages for those who may want some wine or cocktails with their meal. The portions are decent and are served in lovely bowls. Parking is set off the road, behind the restaurant.

Butter Chicken was epic. Unfortunately if you sit outside you are in line with the road and it's noisy

Great Indian restaurant in the area. Lovely Indian food. I came twice in 4 days. Sunday night was very crowded and we had not booked, so we had to walk around for one hour waiting for a free table because we wanted to repeat there instead of others besides. It was worth going.

We went to Happy Rajah 2 times during our vacation and the food was delicious both times. We tried the cheese garlic naan, the butter chicken and other delicious curries. As a person who doesn't like very spicy food,I was delighted to find only mild options in the menu. The staff is also very kind and helpful. Very good experience overall

We’ve been to this place twice, and both times we were very very happy with the food. We ordered mango lassi as drink, one of the best I had so far. Butter chicken was really done good, we ordered it in both occasions. Onion bhaji is not in the list but we asked and got it. Whatever we ordered was successful. If we stayed longer in this area, we would definitely come back again. Found another branch close to our next stay, and we will definitely visit that one as well :))

I couldn't wait to share my experiences at your restaurant, and I have to say that I've been over the moon with my visits - twice to be exact! Your mango lassi is not just a drink; it's pure magic in a glass. I've sipped a lot, but I must say it's one of the best I've had. It's the kind of drink that instantly transports you to a tropical paradise, even if you're just sitting in your restaurant. the butter chicken - it's like a superstar in the world of Indian cuisine, and your chef clearly knows their stuff. I couldn't resist ordering it on both visits, and each time, it was nothing short of perfection. The onion bhaji may not have made it to your official list, but you were kind enough to whip some up for us when we asked. Thank you for indulging our culinary curiosity - it made our day. Everything we ordered was a big hit. Your kitchen truly knows its way around flavor, and it's no surprise that your restaurant has become a go-to for us. Sadly, we won't be in the area for much longer, but guess what? We found another branch of your restaurant close to our place Your food has a way of leaving a lasting impression, and we're excited to create more delicious memories at your next branch. Thanks for making our dining experiences absolutely delightful.

We’ve been in Mauritius for 10 days now and have been trying out as many new places to eat as possible :) Happy Rajah is by far our favourite! The food is exquisite, the staff incredible, friendly and professional, and the atmosphere lively and buzzing. The restaurant is always busy so booking in advance is a must to avoid disappointment. We were made to feel so welcome and are so appreciative of our lovely evenings spent there. I highly recommend a visit!

This restaurant is very pleasant and well decorated. The team is top-notch, very friendly and professional. Nevertheless, I was a little disappointed with the dishes, which were tasty, but were served a little chilled. I ordered a mango lassi, which didn't really have any mango in it. It's hard for me to make these remarks, as I loved the warm welcome from the team. I still recommend going there and trying it, it's a good experience.

Lovely overall vibe, delicious food and decent prices. Topped with good service and a dedicated parking, this place is one of the best picks in the area. A reservation is recommended.

Good choice of starters, delicious tandoori main dishes available. Service is very motivated, overall very professional restaurant, seems always to be very full. Better to reserve a day in advance, even though we were lucky to get a table for 2 just walking in.

This place will blow your mind if you go in the perfect time of the day you will feel a good breeze the food isn’t too spicy. Also the kulfi isn’t that sweet so it shouldn’t cover up any bad tastes but I’m not saying that it’s bad.

Unfortunately, we did not make a reservation. On our arrival, the staff and owner did not seen happy to see us because we had no reservation. Luckily we got a table but the waitress was not happy to serve us. Not even a smile and were a bit rude. Drink was good but food not at all. Lots of improvement needed. Very important if you are white skin people sure you will get a good welcoming but if you are Mauritian oriental people sure your welcome will not be the same. That how they made us feel .

Amazing Indian food! We got takeaway, was greeted by friendly staff and received fresh and super tasty food! Next time we'll go for sit-down 😁

Both Happy Rajah Tamarin and Grand Baie are excellent - deliciously executed and wholesome Indian food at a reasonable price (and consistent). Portions are generous and the food is very flavoursome - would recommend reserving a table. Mango lassi, dal makhani, baingan bharta and paneer tikka were standout dishes and staples for each of our visits.

Decent Indian food with friendly staff. We started with the chicken Kabab, pani purri and pakora. The chicken and pani purra were great, I would skip the pakora. As for the main dishes we went with butter chicken and vegetable rice which were good. We also ordered dhal which went well with the rice. The mixed salad was terrible it consisted of cucumber and carrots that are thinly sliced. Not a bad place if you are staying near by. They have a parking beside the Resturant but need to enter from the side street. Ratings: Chicken Kabab: 8/10 Pani purri: 8/10 Pakora: 5/10 Mixed salad: 3/10 Butter chicken: 7/10

Uncommon place with “better than what you can expect” Indian dishes!! ✍️⭐️⭐️⭐️ «I was born to eat this plate…» was what came to the mind of my Réunionnais friend, to summarize the food experience 👍 Not to mention the servers who would check if everything was OK at our table every 12/13mins ✅ Excellency would be the word of the evening if you were to dine @Happy Rajah p.s: The food will haunt you until you come back for a 2nd time ✌️
