Room is clean and staff is friendly. Didn’t get what I ordered but it was just for three nights so I said nothing. 3 stars because it’s very loud the whole time and there is no parking in front of the hotel or directly there.

We booked a night at Hostal Simona, because we spontaneously decided to stay in La Romana. The pictures looked fine and the price was fair (AND included breakfast). To my surprise, the hostel was much better than expected (in my opinion, it's rather a family-run hotel). I'm a bit picky about accommodation, but the room left me speechless. So nice! Simple but furnished with taste, much brighter than at the pictures, very clean, equipped with AC, TV and fridge; with private bathroom with HOT water. The lady at the reception was super nice, very helpful (and spoke perfect English). She even offered us a cup of coffee during check in. I was sad we couldn't stay longer, but I hope to be able to visit soon again. I can definitely recommend this place.

Wonderful hotel with all the amenities and location that Amy visitor to la Romana could ask for. Centrally located, excellent staff cater to you personally. The owners are always on site and very helpful.

This is a family owned hotel, so as soon as you enter the place the staff makes you feel like home. The breakfast is awesome and filling for person. With local fruits and natural juices done at the moment. We love it.

The entrance is a bit hard to find as it is more of a house than a hotel. The staff was really nice to us. In regards to the rooms, everything was clean. The fridge inside my room was rusty as hell, that's the only problem I had. I felt like they didn't do much to enhance the place. But for the price i can't complain, totally worth it!!

The room was very nice, a good breakfast included, a little expensive, drinking water would be appreciated and some ice. Personnel is friendly and helpful, although recommended their own services like taxi and restaurant. Taxi very expensive. Not very private as you have to enter through a office room. My room was on a very busy street, noisy.

Stay away from their TOUR PACKAGES! The stay and the cleanliness was fine all around during my few day stay. The breakfast was well worth in getting as well. The problem became when my own plans to see El Alto de Chavon fell through and I had asked the front desk assistant if there were other places I can buy a package from and she had offered me one that they had. She called it a “Tour” and I had told her I came all this way to see El Alto de Chavon and as a lone traveler female I did not like being by myself in tours. Long story short I arrived and it was not a tour there was no guide I was just given a map. There was miscommunication between the taxi agency who brought me because I had to wait over 1.5 hours to get picked up. I had told this all to the staff and it was not received well in their end they got defensive and I called the manager who said she will get back to me with a solution. She added that if I put in a bad interview they will essentially not help me. I have not gotten my money back or a response for over 2 months going on 3 now. Stay away from their packages they are NOT worth the MONEY and STRESS.

Not much of a hostel, more hotel. The rooms are clean and a bit quirky. This seemed like some sort of an old house converted to hotel. The lady's at the front desk made all the difference, they were kind and honest with their opinions. English is spoken here, which is rare to find in the DR outside of Punta Cana.
