My expectation wasn’t 5 ⭐️ but it still delivered poorly below 1⭐️. When Receptionists change shifts and they don’t seem to communicate basic expectations or changes, I had asked to get a Presidential room and this was all good and well till the next morning when I was told the room is not available. The rooms on ground floor are dirty and the wooden windows do nothing to stop the dust coming in, not sure housekeeping changes the beddings or cleans the surfaces and mirrors. And the bathroom fixtures are outdated, beddings, towels are past their use by date. I actually feel sorry for the staff as they face the brunt of unhappy customers when the management seems to be sleeping. If you charge money, please deliver accordingly. This has an impact on the economical growth in Labasa!

Older building, decor dated. Noisy night from the festival at the park behind the hotel. Given not many choices in the area, this hotel is better than others in town.

Didnt stay at the hotel but had a so called chicken pizza ( large) at restaurant. It was probably the worst I ever tried .No vegetables exept for onion, no spice or herbs , no visible meat , stale base stuck to alluminum tin foil and no crust .At $38 it was a complete rip off and waste of money .

The name is Grand but not so grand as far as clean bathrooms are concerned. Staff is very good ,friendly and helpful. An advise to the management, incase of a huge group turnover, eg weddings, to have a buffet breakfast so that the guests can help themselves and not wait for hours and only 1 staff serving them. On a slow season, it's ok to place orders for breakfast, but not when the hotel is fully booked. Lots of other maintenance issues were raised amongst the guests, air conditioning problems, shower, iron shortage, no hair dryer. One had to ask for hair dryer, then you will be given by a staff if it's available 😉

We had no choice we arrived in Labasa late night. Looking at outside the building it looked good so we rented two rooms both of the rooms condition was like a homeless shelter, The owner being Sugar minister of Fiji nothing sweet about this hotel also when I used my credit card I was charged 6 percent fees on top of the total amount please be careful before you rent this place.

Friendly staff and welcoming. Close to main road and next to supermarket. Rooms are clean but require maintenance and are missing items for hot drinks ie cups and milk. Electrical plugs and switches are loose or broken. Bathroom fittings also loose or missing. Long wait for hot water in shower. Pool ok for swimming but lots of leaves and dirt floating around. Restaurant is good. Food well cooked and popular for dinner. Indian curry specialties. Fresh fish and chips. Good bar for drinks at good prices. Overall ok for a stop but just needs a bit of updating and repair.

The rooms were dirty, toilet was dirty and the surroundings all unclean and people from outside would come in and eat near the pool and spit in the pool.

Disappointing – Dated, Dingy, Dilapidated, Derelict I stayed here for a few nights and was quite disappointed with the entire experience. Apart from one lady at the reception who seemed to be quite knowledgeable, everything else was pretty bad! For starters, I checked in at 3.30pm and the room wasn’t ready. When we were given access to the room, the floors were still wet and smelt of chemical detergents. The sheets appeared dirty, the room was dirty, Power points were broken and there was mould in the bathroom. Additionally, I didn’t have running water in the shower for the duration of the stay. It would only work after I complained. The fact that I had to call reception and complain to get running shower says a lot. In addition to this, the restaurant area was dirty and dusty. I spotted a dirty tissue under one of the dining tables that hadn’t been removed for my entire stay. The complimentary breakfast was less than adequate and surmount to being disrespectful. Two white toasts, one egg, fruits – all served on the same plate together with cutlery. I also tried their omelette which came with hash browns. The sauce was the best things on my plate. The hash brown seemed like really old mashed potato that had been heated on some oil. To be fair, I wouldn’t want my cutlery on the dining table as the table clothes looked filthy. Service quality was poor too. Not a single smile nor greeting which is at odds with the Friendly North that Labasa is renowned for. The hotel seems to be a favourite for the “town socialites”. There were quite a few people in the bar area during the weekend. Once the bar closed, these people would take their alcohol and drink in the pool area. They were noisy in the evenings and would party late into the night making it difficult for guests to sleep. Again, beer bottles were left in the pool are for three days in a row. The hotel seems to pride itself as being owned by a local businessman who is also a government minister. If that is truly the case, they need to lead by example and take action to improve their services. The fact that this is the only available hotel in Labasa should not be a reason for poor quality.

Probably one of the nicest hotels in Labasa . Bathrooms ok . Honestly it'll do for Labasa . Although they do take a while to clean up . Had other guests drinking last night outside area was messy with rubbish didn't get cleaned up until probably after 9am/10am . Located in town so easy walk to get to town

Great experience. Quiet place. Good for families or individuals. Walking distance to restaurants but has a good in house kitchen with food options

Great location for a quick stay. Close to a 24h fuel station and around the corner from the main street. Rooms are clean, decent breakfast included. Dinner at their restaurant took a long time to be served, but overall good location.

Labasa is overall a slow town. Don't expect 3 star experience here. Most things are barely par in terms of experience

It was very filthy around the bar area with cigarrette butts lying around pool areas. Hotel should have a dedicated smoking place so other guests do not feel intimidated. There were few drinking groups of people within the premises who were very noisy. i checked in and checked out within 1 hour. Then checked in at Hotel Takia which was very clean overall.

Basic hotel, old and tired, needs upgrading. Still using towels that are about 10 years old. Its fine for a few nights.

Nice clean large room and good swimming pool. Restaurant needs improvement- there are better options for eating in the Main Street

Checked into the Presidential suite which was so good, very clean and spacious. Had some draught beer at the bar, the bar tender was an amazing gentleman. Also had breakfast and lunch at the in house restaurant, mouth watering and delicious. Planning for a trip next year.
