Had a emergency and they came through fast. I was amazed on how much information they are will to teach. My Doctors are in and out fast pace production line. They did not, he explained everything to me. The office personal get a 15 star review for making us so comfortable for on Sunday when she did not have too. It makes you feel special when someone dose that. Thank you Rouse EyeCARE Center. Thanks for making us feel special and important!!

Rouse Eyecare is a fantastic center to get your optic needs. They are friendly and cooperative on appointments. They listen to your concerns and help resolve any issues. You feel valued at this office.

The staff is very friendly, the exam was alright, seemed rushed and I sat waiting for a very long time in the back. I’ve had better exams at a Walmart. Now about the glasses, they pick out frames for you, all very expensive with most affordable frames hidden in drawers. They upsell progressive and transitions lenses like used car salesman. They convinced me I needed progressive lenses even though I told them I don’t need my near vision with my glasses and do my reading without glasses. I gave the progressive lenses a try, good luck if you operate machinery. I took them back and requested single vision lenses. What they don’t tell you is your initial cost to the lab is non refundable and even downgrading to a basic single vision lenses I did not receive any compensation for the price difference. Progressive lenses were a lot more expensive than a standard single vision lenses. My family will not be doing business here in the future.

Lesson learned for sure. Granted, everyone is nice polite and/or professional. That being said I went in for my first prescription a couple years ago. I ended up spending a RIDICULOUS amount of money for my glasses. Which i rarely wore. So I ended up buying glasses from eyebuydirect and love all the glasses I have gotten from them at an enormous price difference, around $600 less. I figured I would try again. Went in October November for my prescription. When going through the exam she kept saying the usual which is clearer. The times i told her both were Blurry and she was a little impatient and said just tell me which one is better. During the picking out the glasses, they definitely try to get you to buy buy buy. You are never just shown trays of glasses you can pick from like you do in other stores. They go and pick a couple or few and you honestly feel pressure to settle. I got my glasses and noticed they seemed a little more blurred than my previous prescription. I figured it was just because they were new and I needed to get used to them. I don't normally wear my glasses because my vision isn't that bad and can still see everything. The glasses create better clarity. After trying them for a while they still were blurry so i tried my older pair and they were definitely clear. When I called them i got the explanation that because I'm not wearing them for 2 weeks straight they really won't do anything. (Paraphrasing) she said they can look at them and make sure the prescription is correct though. Now why am i going to wear glasses that i did wear for a while for 2 weeks if they are Blurry. Not going to be coming back. I will just chalk it up to a VERY expensive lesson learned.

First time trying out this place for frame and lens. Glad that I did. The person I interacted with is Mia, Lead Optician, she is very good. She's been in the field for a while and her skills technically and also customer care shows through. There are people who have been in their field for a long time, but do not know what they are doing; however, in Mia's case, she is very good. Would recommend. You'll notice a big difference in terms of people who are skilled at their job versus people who are not at other common glasses stores.

This place is a total scam ripoff. I was told an eye exam was $275. They began the exam and when I told them I wanted both a contact lens and a glasses prescription, they then told me a contact lens prescription would be another $189 on top of the $275. That the $275 only included a glasses prescription. I asked the office manager why another almost $200 just to get a contact lens prescription. “It’s just what we charge.” I walked out and on my way out I saw the doctor and asked him why he charges another $189 just for a contact lens prescription. “That’s our policy.” Walked out after wasting nearly an hour on forms and the beginning part of the exam.

Dr. Rouse is fantastic. Mia Pinto, the lead optician, is AMAZING. She was great to talk to, has an excellent eye, and helped me find glasses I'm excited about wearing. Thank you!

Most thorough exam I've received in the last 20 years, and who knew shopping for frames could be so much fun? Melissa is the BEST - truly great at helping us pick the perfect pairs.

First time visiting an optometrist in my life and I can say it was a very nice experience. Dr Rouse and his team made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. I really appreciated they took their time to pick the perfect glasses for me. Thank you so much

Nicely Dressed Older Man who's blue car was right outside the office (possibly a DR) come outside to investigate my car because I parked to close to him and he was concerned I scared his tire. Offered my information and he declined but instructed me on how to drive and park better. Poor experience for a community member who will not recommend this office for a friendly face.

With a difficult and heavy prescription I’ve struggled with getting glasses that I can wear driving. The glare and distortion were terrible. Outside of the house it’s been contact lenses the whole way. Last year I booked an appointment with Rouse, ready for the battle of “you have to pick if you want to see near or far” and how terrible the frames are going to be to fit my heavy lenses. For the first time in 35 years I was fitted with a pair of glasses that I feel safe driving in and that I can wear outside of the house. I believe they are digital lenses and the difference is like comparing a new iPhone to one from the early 90’s. Total lens package was actually cheaper too. Amazing staff, beautiful store, great selection. I won’t be wasting time again with any other EyeCARE specialists. Thank you Dr & Mrs. Rouse!!!

The staff here is awesome! They are all SO sweet and helpful! :) Dr. Rouse was great, he was very informative and punctual which I really appreciate, I was never left waiting on anyone for more than a couple minutes tops. 10/10 recommend them!

I just moved to the area eight months ago, and Dr. Rouse and his staff came highly recommended. And the referral was right on target. Dr. Rouse gave me a thorough eye exam, walking me through the high-tech tests he performed while patiently working to determine my contact lens measurements. I am a high myope with a history of retinal tears, and Dr. Rouse was able to do a thorough exam and help me select new multifocal contacts. The staff was incredibly skilled and kind. I am beyond impressed with the professionalism of this practice.

The eye exam was fine, however, I wasn’t given an option to dilate and the doctor just did it. My experience after the exam was the worst experience I have ever had! The lady wanting to help me with glass and contacts was aggressive and very rude. She would not take no for an answer when I said I didn’t want them to order my contacts and did not plan on buying glasses. Her response was “I guess you want to give your business to 1-800-contacts instead of a small business.” All I have to say is after that experience ABSOLUTELY! I will not be back and will need to find another place for my children.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Rouse and his amazing staff! I scheduled an appointment here because I had been having issues with my eyes for a couple of weeks. My Vision in my right eye was especially bad. I originally went to a different doctor who told me I had dry eye. However, I had a feeling there was more to it than just dry eye, so I made an appointment with Dr. Rouse to have him give me an exam and see if he thought the previous doctors diagnosis was accurate. Dr. Rouse took such good care of me from start to finish! He really cared about what I was going through and listened to all of my concerns. After completing a very thorough exam he determined that I had a lot more going on then just dry eye. It was serious and he knew I was scared. He told me to trust him and to know that “he’s got me”. I do trust him. I’ve never had a doctor tell me something like that before and it felt so reassuring to know that I was in such great hands and that I was finally going to get the answers I was looking for. He explained everything to me in detail about what was happening with my eyes and then immediately referred me to Sound Retina so I could be seen right away to start treatment. I was so scared and couldn’t stop crying but him and all of his staff were so kind and showed me a tremendous amount of empathy for what I was now faced with. For that, I will always be grateful and as long as Dr. Rouse is practicing, he will always be my eye doctor. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Dr. Rouse is very good and takes his time with you during the eye exam. He has a great personality that makes you feel comfortable. To be honest, if you are on a fixed income, their prices for glasses are too high and you may find you want to take your prescription some place else but this is a good eye Doctor!

I needed to use my yearly benefits and after switching insurances, Rouse was the only one in my network with availability before the new year. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Those are the only nice things I have to say and the reason for 2 stars. Once I was taken back the technician, not the doctor, performed the majority of the eye exam. I am used to a technician doing the pre-exam tests (i.e. puff of air, hot air balloon machine, etc.). Eventually the doctor did see me and performed the rest of the exam (actually looking in my eyes). He was very judgmental when I stated I had been to PearleVision in the past. He also did not explain anything he was rambling off to the technician while he was examining me. It felt very business transaction, like I was an object he had to look at and not a real human being. During his exam he put numbing drops in my eyes without telling me what it was and with no warning. I have gotten the picture taken of my eye (paid extra for it) in the past to forgo the numbing drops as they make me dizzy. I didn't even have a chance to decline them, he did it so fast. On top of that, I still had the picture taken, so there was no need for the dilation. At checkout to order glasses, the person helping me (Melissa) scolded me for wearing contacts too long saying l'd get an infection if I continued what I am doing. I've worn contacts for close to 15 years and have never had a problem. If she wanted to educate me, that's fine, but it was completely unnecessary to scold me like a child in front of other people. She was also told to educate me on Clear Care and did, but then never told me where to get the container or solution (not a huge deal as I won't be using it anyway). I also paid way more at this eye doctor than I have at my any other eye doctor (chain company or private practice). Needless to say, I should have trusted the negative reviews I read prior and gone elsewhere. I should have known that they had openings for a reason. I won't be returning.

Want to highly recommend Dr Craig Rouse, optometric physician in Lacey. Here's why: We had an eye emergency-of course, on a Sunday morning. A poke in the eye, resulting in Intense pain. Urgent care visit, confirming that part of the cornea was scraped out, received antibiotic scrip and told to contact ophthalmologist on Monday. Also received list of "eye care resources." After an hour back home, with pain increasing, started calling eye drs on list who provided "off-hours emergency care." Kept getting office closed message with "hit this # for emergency care," we did, and they all all returned to initial office closed, hit this # for emergency" message. Even the "big" local eye dr office. Until we called Rouse Eye Care Center. He answered himself, met us at his office within 20 minutes, examined eye, provided pain treatment, drops to keep eye lubricated, and a stronger antibiotic, and scheduled a Wed am follow up visit. Wow! Pain stopped immediately, used antibiotic and lubrication eye drops, and eye was healed by Wed am visit. Woohoo!

I had the upmost pleasure going to and starting a new relationship with Rouse Eye Center. The hospitality is above excellent and the family feel is just always warm when you enter. Dr. Rouse is a straight forward and very patient with your concerns type doctor. Great technician that you feel so comfortable with that I thought she was the doctor. Great team and it shows as soon as you step inside.

My daughter and her bf were on town visiting from Virginia and he had an eye emergency. They were seen within 15 minutes and given his antibiotic eye drop. And we were on our way. Thank you!

As a former Dispensing Optician for Dr. Rouse, I was enabled to learn and grow more at this practice than any other practice I worked for before or since. His passion for knowledge is infectious. His commitment to health and wellness is unparalleled. If you need a true comprehensive eye health exam, this is the ONLY place you should be going. You will NOT be disappointed.

I don't think this is the right place to go to get your eye checked. They work professionally, will make you to go there again and again. In my view they perform unnecessory test by scaring you to make money. They do have all the equipments, so I see that they need to make money as a small business, but should tell the patient in advance of the cost. You will walk in for a normal eye exam and they find a way to bill your insurance (not in 100's) more than that.

This was my second time here, I came in for a contact lenses fitting for the first time ever and the office staff were extremely nice and remembered me from my first visit! Doctor Rouse and his nurse were very thorough during my eye exam and answered any questions and concerns I had, super kind and very enthusiastic! Everyone made me feel so welcomed and were very patient, helpful, and encouraging the entire time I was there attempting to put on and take off the contact lenses. I was even a few minutes late to my appointment today and they were still happily able to take me in. 100% recommend Rouse Eye Care Clinic for anyone looking for quality eye care.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at the clinic. During my visit, I was given an expired bottle of Refresh Tears eye drops. When I returned to the clinic to request a replacement, the doctor's assistant shockingly informed me that it's acceptable to use expired products and that Dr. Rouse has previously provided expired items to the patients.
