To get a vantage view of downtown LA, this is the location. The best time to take a photo of DTLA skyline is during the golden and blue hours on a clear day, especially after a raining day when the sky is clear. When the full moon comes out, the photo with DTLA skyline in the foreground is the most beautiful. A long lens is a must for this type of epic photography. I used 300m telephoto lens where I can zoom in to the moon and the buildings in DTLA. The best time for a mesmerizing picture is during the season when the moon is positioned right behind DTLA skyline. Normally that’s during the summer time. To capture that image, a lot of patience and lucks are required. But just keep going back whenever you have the opportunity to take photos until you get the perfect shot.

Kenneth Hahn is a go to for local Angelino’s, it’s a great place to have a picnic, to bring the kids, has hiking trails, scenic views, and large areas to just sit back and relax on some grass. I like to come alone and read or take pictures. I suggest going during the weekday when it’s less populated and FREE. On weekends there IS a small fee. There are tons of parking lots located throughout the park. My favorite thing is knowing that there is a Sherrifs dept here, nothing better than feeling safe!

I've had the pleasure of visiting Kenneth Hahn View Point in LA several times, and I can't help but fall in love with it every single time. This place is an absolute gem! Whether you're looking to hike, have a picnic, or simply take in the stunning vistas, Kenneth Hahn View Point has it all. I highly recommend a visit to anyone seeking a peaceful and scenic retreat in LA. It's a true treasure that never fails to leave me in awe.

Parking is packed compared to pre-covid. Now you will find vehicles parked all up the road leading to the top but the park is so large with several hiking trails that you can safely hike away from people. The views of DTLA plus the cute hummingbirds are worth the hike. There's several spots where you can view the city and I recommend to go near Sunset time so you can see how the lights turn on in DTLA before heading out. Dog friendly but on leash. Love this place!

The best view spot of downtown Los Angeles from the westside! The lookout is accessible from the upper park playground continuing on foot thru a scraggly pathway to a level clearing. There’s a gradual drop down towards La Brea Boulevard below, so care should be taken to stay on level ground or take to the trail for hiking. The view is spectacular from the top! For photos I’d recommend a late afternoon or evening view, with sunlight reflecting off the downtown building fixtures and windows for more definition.
