Broccoli!! Broccoli!! Never come out of Lae market without broccoli! And passion fruit, carrots, eggplant and potatoes 🥰 oh and they'll even cut up a pineapple for you, kulau to drink, citrus fruit..there's people there who can help you carry your market goods for a little food coins. Taking photos and the mothers all wanted their photo taken with their produce!

Always remember to lock your car doors or get someone to watch your vehicles while entering the market. A place where you can find fresh foods, vegetables and fruits for good prices.

Lae Main Market is the only Main Market for the entire Lae City. The Market had different sections that sells varieties of garden food, vegetables, fruits, Seedlings, livestocks etc... It's very quiet and peaceful. The nearby surroundings also have supermarkets where you can do your shopping too.

Late city is a great place. There is a lot the city can offer in terms of services. There are lot of breath taking sites if you go out of the cities limits. Places like the the siassi islands, coastal areas from Voco Point all the way down to Sialum and Wasu.

The best market of fresh varieties of vegetables from highlands to coastal. You will also find meri blous and bilum of various kinds. Neck less, hear rings and baskets are also sold there. Just a comment, the management need to emphasis on the fish market, we're at coastal but there's very little number of fish sold.

I would give it five stars if the securities allow people to go in without a mask on. But generally it's a good market which you can find all types of vegetables, fruits and nuts, meri blouses and etc...

For a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, from lowlands to the Highlands, Lae main market has it all. Be early for the freshest. For the budget conscious, you can get a bargain in the afternoon.

The best place to get fresh local produce in Lae. Only problem is how crowded it can get and also the thugs that hang around the market to pickpocket. The best thing you can do is go with someone who knows the market there.

Unbeatable prices, large variety of fruits, greens and even smoked seafood. One of the best fresh produce markets in PNG. Very safe.

Variety of local produce from Morobe Province as well as other parts of the Highlands. Always packed on the weekends. The infrastucture may need some upgrade though.

  • 1/5 Emmanuel S. 1 year ago on Google
Not so safe enough. Especially if you are new to the place. But the fresh produce sold are the best. Beats other markets I've ever been to.

Much improved from my last visit 2 years ago. There were now raised tables for the display of foods which I think makes the market look more organised. The variety there is still unbeatable. Some areas outside still had puddles of water which could be fixed with pavement. Be wary of people who would take advantage of unguarded bags, there are many lurking around. The bus stop area has not been improved in any way but I'm sure there should be plans for it, as the whole city has been getting a facelift. I was however surprised to see that ripe banana prices was now K1. such as in Pom and Lorengau.

Where you can find a variety of fresh fruits and veggies on sale. However, not quite impressed with the organization of the stalls and the movement of the general public.

Lae Main Market is one of the best in the city. You will find variety of vegetables, fruits and range of garden produce. Fresh down from the Highlands of PNG and within Morobe. Besides food , you can find handcrafts, flowers, etc....

Gotta watch your pockets and bags when doing marketing. Check your car doors as well before you enter the market area if there are any valuable items in the car, at least have someone watch the car. Anything can happen. Be cautious!

A very busy bus station in Lae, traffic is very bad and slow and the buses drove into very big pot holes.

  • 5/5 Allan Y. 1 year ago on Google

Lae Main Market is one of the biggest markets in the country which produces affordable local products. I will give Lae main market if only the management controls the Bus bay traffic and the uncontrolled street vendors.

Lae City Market has everything your kitchen need. Garden food prices are reasonable and sellers provide the best of quality healthy garden food. There is a craft market, small kaibars (food bar), shopping centers, ATM and Bank, PMVs located in the same area and bag carriers if you ever need someone to help with your market bags, and many more. There is also a police station located inside the market with police men present everyday.

Where you can find all garden produce at affordable price. The set back though is the market spacing, being too crowded for one to move freely to buy produces.

  • 4/5 Brittany N. 8 months ago on Google
Great, Affordable fruits and vegetables. Just be cautious of the people outside the market incase they pickpocket you and if it rained the morning or the day before you decide to go to the market, wear shoes.

The market is managed by Lae city Authority. Lae main market is a very good place to buy fresh vegetables, all the Highlanders are selling their fresh vegetables in the market.

Lae Main Market is one of the central market of Papua New Guinea. It is always full with vegetables from the highlands of Papua New Guinea and all kinds of marine products from the it's near by coast. The prices are cheap and is the busiest Market centre in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.
