First time dining here. Outstanding service all around!! Their Chicken/Sausage Gumbo was delicious, and perfectly spiced. First time trying Gulf seafood. I guess it's an acquired taste? We're used to eating seafood from the ocean, so all the Gulf seafood we ordered had a very distinct taste to them...all tasted extremely fishy, and something else that we couldn't pinpoint on what it was. If you watch your daily salt intake, I'd highly recommend telling your server to go easy on the salt when the cooks prepare your meals. Love how they also offer military discounts to their patrons.

I got the Cajun Cowboy Ribeye cooked medium. It was tasty. The middle of it was just a little overcooked. The green beans were delicious. I don't know what they cooked them in, but they were so good. The oysters were perfect and tasty. The staff was friendly. The restaurant itself was dark and had a romantic feel to it.

This has truly been one of the best meals i had while in Louisiana. The flavors and the service were on point. I would go back in a heart beat to this restaurant.

Usually the food comes fresh made and great here but today it was sub-par. I ordered the oysters (large order). I received a half order and it was half cold. My fries that came with the order were also like warm. The prices have been raised and now for the increased price I expect not perfection but good quality. At another establishment a few days ago I witnessed a guy telling a young woman that he was paying for his food and expected it to be right. At first I felt bad for the young woman but as I thought about it I had to agree with the guy. Anyway it's not always you get what you pay for but you should!

We had the fried alligator, fried shrimp and the catfish shrimp platter. Food was fantastic. Cole slaw was the best I have had. Also, you need to try the old fashion. Great service.

Omg good! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Everything we got was so delicious! Drinks were good as well. Prices very reasonable. Wish it was closer to home cause I'd be there all the time. There was one thing that was off putting though...the smell. The only way I can describe it is a dirty baby diaper. Seriously, it was awful.

I have eating here many time and always seem to get the fried Seafood combo for a reason, it is pretty good. The best thing is their cheesecake. Light and tasty with an excellent gram cracker crust. Pour some blueberries over the top and a glass of milk on the side, just WOW! Service is always good and expect to be back next time I'm in Lafayette.

On our way home from New Orleans to Oklahoma we decided to try one more place to eat and it was a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing food, wines and service. Our server Lou-ann was super nice, extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations, oh and her French accent is beautiful. Definitely will come back when visiting Louisiana again.

Exceptional service and great staff. They took the time to share dishes based on taste. Btw if you want to try Alligator, try their fried alligator, you won't be sorry.

The food was good although a little pricey. I had the onion rings, jacked up shrimp, seafood gumbo and Acadian catfish. Every dish was very good. I usually am pretty indifferent about etouffee but the portion that was served top of my catfish was really good. Great gumbo too. The jacked up shrimp was good although I wish they gave you a little more. The service was a little slow but the waitress was courteous. Overall, I liked it and would eat here again.

Great local place with many local specialties. Great service, possible wait but it moves consistently. I’ve enjoyed the boiled shrimp and the crab meat au gratin. Large menu sure to please any palette. Well worth a try to taste local food. Very smooth operation here.

Everything was above our expectations. Our server Tim was very professional and he was very helpful in suggesting items for us to try. It was our first time dining at this establishment and we would highly recommend them. The restaurant itself was clean and it was not a long wait time for our orders to come out. Depending on what time you are planning to dine it could be a bit of a wait but well worth it.

Heard a lot of buzz about Don’s Seafood on Google, so we took a detour during our trip to give it a shot. The hour wait wasn’t promising, but the experience fell short anyway. Quick service was a plus, and we decided on our orders promptly. Opted for the Grilled Salmon, but unfortunately, it tasted like something I could whip up at home, only better. The overcooked salmon was a letdown, and the sweet potato casserole arrived cold. Vegetables were decent, but I left wishing I’d ordered differently. Not sure if it was an off day or the crowded setting, but I’m on the fence about a return visit to a place with such high praise.

The food was okay. Not as good as I would’ve expected in Louisiana. Not terrible, just not great. They didn’t seem to want to serve us or seat us right away. And they weren’t busy. The staff were not as friendly as other places I’ve been. But on a good note, their cocktails were great!

I’m here to say Dons Seafood Lafayette was not as expected. The Grill Stuffed Shrimp was over cooked and was not good at all. Everything on the food was cold. Was not a good experience. This place has been slacking in my many years of their experience.

As a former resident of Lafayette, it was a pleasure to return to Don's, in spite of the circumstances (memorial dinner to celebrate the passing of my brother). My brother-in-law made the arrangements for this event; I assumed that he chose one of the limited menus for large parties, but was quite pleased upon arrival to see that the table had been set using the full menu. I had a hankering for fresh seafood and well made Cajun food. The service for this event was excellent - we were a mid-sized party of about 17 people, and they managed not only to keep up with the many separate checks, but also keep the food and drinks coming without being prompted. I ordered a bottle of champagne to accompany my dinner (crawfish etoufee). My server was adorable, admitting that she had never popped the cork on a bottle of champagne before. I was not put off or upset by that (there is a first time for everything); I walked her through the process before her manager came in right before the pop. Each person who attended this dinner was pleased. There were several table appetizers, including hush puppies and platter of fried onion rings. mushrooms and catfish. And of course, Don's signature bread pudding was enjoyed by several family members, as weekly as an a la mode dish my niece enjoyed. Time passed quickly at the event - before we knew it, we had to begin our storytelling and family photos. They did not rush us to leave, which was highly appreciated - we are a family of long goodbyes! Because this lunch was on weekend, the restaurant was almost full. There is brunch, as well as oyster bar and cocktail lounge filled with hungry people and large groups. But our service was consistent and we got the attention we needed at the right time. As a smoker, it was pleasure to be able to sit outside on the front patio - covered with comfortable couches, ceiling fans and television set for the sports fans. There is a fireplace, but it was not lit due to heat and humidity of summer. We were very pleased with the service and food. It is a landmark in Lafayette, and we felt grateful to have been accommodated for such an important family event. I look forward to dining here again on my next visit to Lafayette

After a long drive from Houston this hit the spot! Houston has good food too so we know good food when we taste it. Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and grilled chicken were delicious! Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. We will definitely stop here again next time we're around!

Our server was Jessi. She was fantastic. We were there to celebrate our birthdays and spent most of the afternoon there. She was attentive but not pushy. She was Glad to answer all of our questions about the menu even though she was very busy. She was precious! Oh & the food was good too! The seafood spinach dip & cheesecake were excellent !

In St. Martinville LA to enjoy family time for Easter weekend. This is in the middle of Cajun seafood country! The REAL DEAL!!! 😁✔️ Don's Seafood is one of my favorites. You can't go wrong here. I have a really bad habit of forgetting to take pictures BEFORE I eat! 🤦🏾‍♀️ The orders were called in in advance. It's a good thing it was a 45-minute wait, All good though afterall, it was Good Friday. I wouldn't have expected anything less. 😊 It was worth the wait. The food was fresh and hot. The pick-up service was quick. I'll be back Don's Seafood!

Had a delicious lunch here today and it was wonderful. I send people here all the time (I work at a hotel) but had never eaten there. Now I can send my guest here with confidence that they will have an excellent meal. My server Jacob was attentive & polite. Great job!

A totally honest and unbiased review: The perfect place for any anniversary, baby shower, wedding event or birthday! I’ve been working here for 6-7 years now and when I say customer satisfaction is key here-it’s literally what we strive for. Out of all of the places I’ve worked, Don’s is the only place that will go out of their way to purchase all of these decorations for any event to keep the guests coming back.

Recommended by our hotel desk clerk, and he was spot on. Everything was delicious. The charbroiled oysters and jacked up shrimp were OMG good! Our waitress, Victoria, was super helpful and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better Cajun dinner.

Service was great, shrimp and grits were good, crab au gratin was gross and barely had any crab in it. Blueberry cheesecake is the best I've ever had.
