WOW! I was amazed by this beach. Just a few minutes drive from Lagos you'll find a very rocky waterline. By taking the boardwalk down, you can reach the beach and by a cave the beach next to it as well. Only downside is shadow in winter months. Due to the low sun angle, the entire beach was covered by shadow early in the afternoon... If you take that in account (winter only), it's a must visit

Very scenic beach, but quite narrow so it gets busy very quickly. You can access 2 other small beaches from there. The water gets deep quickly.

Nice beach! From the main beach there is a tunnel where you can reach a second one. Water is cold (as usual for ocean). Generally the beach is crowded. Worth to go. Under the sun for almost the whole day. I recommend not to be close to water cause the level of the ocean is slightly rising during the day. Recommended.

Amazing beach and surroundings. Go from the parking to the left. There’s a little trail that will lead you to beautiful sights. Enjoy!

This beach is very good because of many reasons. It's guarded so safe compared to other beaches which are not too short. Also it's very wide so much space even on a crowded day and if you need shade there are two sides that cliffs that block the sun just if you need it. You can reach by parking at the street and then walking there you go down by stairs it's quite a walk but with a pause even Grandpa can go there. There are tunnels in the walls if the rock which make it possible to go to the bordering beach which is smaller but nice to have. Very cool place to spend your time on a hot summer day.☀️😍

Beautiful small cove beach, with dramatic cliffs surrounding it. Long stairs run down the cliff from the parking lot to the beach (let me stress 'long'). There is a small beach kiosk at the end of it. As the beach is deep down surrounded by the high cliffs, it is protected from wind, but the sun only gets in when it is high on the sky, getting in shadow early. This is not my favorite type of beach for a beach day but it is definitely worthwhile to visit it for the views. The Camilo beach includes a connection to the next cove (connected by tunnel) and allows a quick access to the praia das Bonecas coves to the south, or further coves towards praia dona Ana, with short swims. All tiny dramatic coves. Not wheelchair accessible.

I enjoyed the view and experience of this beautiful place. The waves are amazing even in the morning. If you're lucky, you could see some dolphins. Try out deep sea diving around here. You'll love it. Plenty of things to do. Great place to visit.

Beautiful beach. With more than 200 steps of wooden stairs to go down. There’s tunnel connect to another small beach next to it. But no facilities. Very little places actually to lie down. The beach is full of seaweeds and kinda smelly , so actually it is impossible to swim .

Great little beach. Get early so you can grab a spot in the sand: it gets really busy around 10:30-11:00. Great spot for snorkeling: loads of fish big and small, amazing spot to swim around the rocky coast and see fish swimming happy!

Praia do Camilo is a stunning beach with crystal clear waters and breathtaking views. The beach is surrounded by picturesque cliffs and rock formations that add to its natural beauty. The sand is soft and the water is perfect for swimming. The beach can be accessed by stairs, which add a bit of adventure to the visit. Overall, Praia do Camilo is a must-visit destination in Lagos, Portugal. Highly recommend it!

The beach is incredibly beautiful but if you visit this area in August be prepared to share it with an insane amount of people, especially during the peak hours. Also, when we visited Praia do Camilo the whole beach was full of seaweed so most people didn’t even try to swim.

The landscape is unique and breathtaking, however I wouldn't recommend visiting in August. The beach was packed (and we arrived slightly before 9:30 in the morning), and the water was almost completely black because of the algae. If you are here in August, I would advise getting in early to enjoy the sights and then going to Praia Mos instead.

Two small crowded beaches connected with tunnel so not swimmable for us but worth a visit as the surrounding scenery is fantastic. We were here at low tide in the morning so the beach was not under water and there were still few people. Warning signs about falling rocks from which there is no protection are ubiquitous. But the collapsed sidewalk at the viewpoint above beach proves that warnings sometimes come true.

Praia do Camilo is a coastal gem in the Algarve region of Portugal. Nestled between towering golden cliffs, this secluded beach is a hidden paradise. A steep staircase leads to the cove, unveiling a pristine stretch of sand and crystal-clear waters. It's a picturesque setting for sunbathing and swimming. The dramatic rock formations and sea caves nearby add an element of adventure for explorers. A visit to Praia do Camilo is an unforgettable experience, offering both natural beauty and a sense of serenity. 🏖️🌊🌞

Huge construction happening that forces everyone to park in a dirt parking lot. The parking lot has no guidelines so everyone parks how they want. Not to mention huge potholes in the parking lot that ruin cars. To get any shots of the beach, you must go early in the morning since there is huge overcrowding of people. If you want to get a shot of the beach from the top, you won’t be able to since there is trees overgrown and no one cuts them. Once you go down the stairs that are in need of repair and very unstable, you reach the bottom with an intense disgusting smell of seaweed. There is seaweed everywhere that forces hundreds of people into small spaces. No care for the beach that is just awful. You would think someone would clean it up for the tourist but no. Anyone that says the beach is great hasn’t gone lately. If there is pictures posted lately without seaweed, they cropped them out of the picture. Skip this beach! Not worth the parking, dust, overcrowded stinking seaweed and not to mention the seaweed!! Not recommended

More so than the beach, I recommend walking along the path/cliffs lining the beach and look down from above. The view at sunset was stunning and one I won’t ever forget!

Stunning view. The beach is like a 'wild beach' ,there are no sunbeds and also no public toilets. The view takes your breath. On the beach is a bar with drinks and a few snacks. It was totally worth it to climb so many stairs.

Gorgeous beach!!! Lots and lots and lots of stairs. Very popular, so if you want a spot, go early! There is a bit of parking up top. If that is full, there is a larger parking lot off of the roundabout.

Super beautiful beach with a beautiful wooden staircase leading down to it. It was crowded when I went but if you continue walking further to the left, there’s less people.

Extremely beautiful place. To get there you can go by hiking through the mountains or by Uber. From the Lagos city to there is around 3,5€ , 4€

We came in Jan and it’s windy and cold!!!! But still beautiful!! There are many little yellow flowers that makes the scenery even more heavenly!!! And there is very little people around!!! We came early so we had the beach all to ourselves for a while until less than 10 other people came! That’s the benefit of coming here in off season Definitely bring a hat if you come in winter months!!! It’s very windy. We walks all along the wooden bridges and it’s beautiful and amazing!! There are Bolt cars all around. Take a Bolt here and back - very convenient!!! There is also a cafe right here - so you can take a drink amid your walk!

Spectacularly beautiful, but gets super crowded in the summer as it's so small, and the water was impossibly cold. But very nice look at 😂

Beautiful, cliff enclosed beach with stair access…we were able to easily climb down and enjoy. Expect a fair amount of tourist company, since beach is so accessible. There are two areas separated by a low walkthrough tunnel. Photo ops here are magnificent with the sandstone pillars and arches.

Beautiful beach. Get here for sunrise if you can wake up early enough. You won't be disappointed! It's the best spot to watch the sunrise in Lagos. During the day the beach gets very busy so it's worth getting there early to get a spot.

Impressive place! The relief coast of the ocean is interrupted by picturesque beaches. There is a walking path along the coast made of wood. Very comfortable to walk around and enjoy the views. I came here at dawn, at this time there are still few people and you can enjoy the beauty.

Beautiful beach surrounded by tall cliffs. Boating and kayaking are popular.
