Would not recommend for their day beginner learn to surf. Their surf camp might be better. CONS: - Coaching was minimal, not very involved, with mixed instructions. - Communication was subpar. After our lesson, we were given lunch and told nothing while the instructors proceeded to surf for the next 3 hours (more on this later). PROS: - Good food provided: oranges and chips as snacks, homemade veg curry for lunch. - Good surfing location My biggest gripe with this 60 euro day experience was that following our lesson, while we were eating our lunch the instructors went out to surf for 3 hours. When one of the instructors came back to the beach after about 1.5 hours or surfing I asked how much longer the instructors would be so I would know what to expect and I was told "not much longer", only to wait 1.5 hours longer. Nowhere was this precedent set when we inquire about the details of the day prior to signing up. It felt like a waste of our time (we are traveling and only in Portugal for so long). The second issue was with the lessons themselves, the lessons seemed very minimal and instructors clashing in terms of their instructions. The instructors did not seem to care much about the students. After our lesson, another group (NOMAD Surfers) rolled up and began their lesson. They seemed much more organized, and involved. I would suggest booking with them rather than the Surf Experience.

So much fun, so good food! We were there in November, our double room was freezing cold and the bedding was a weird blue microfiber something material 😂 but very clean. We got an heater then from the lady, then it was fine. We had such a good week, surfing, sun bathing and finding friends 😊 I just had the feeling that the german Surf teacher Kim, did not like me, as she ignored me sometimes when I asked her something but well - they have plenty other teachers to ask questions to 😊 I will come back!

Have just got back from an amazing week with these guys. We stayed in a really nice little appartment which Surf Ex sorted for us - just a one minute walk from the main surf house. You can tell that they have been running this camp for years as everything is so well organised: really easy booking - great airport transfer (thanks Katha) - and super friendly hosts at the surf house to show you around as soon as you arrive. For us (couple in our 30s), they got the mix of surf/social spot on: two big surf sessions with top instructors (we were normally with Bella or Mark who were awesome) - Lunch on the beach (the food for both breakfast and lunch was brilliant , we had something completely different every day for the whole week) - then in the evening the staff at the house run a really cool little bar on the roof as well as sorting a restaurant booking for those in the camp wanting to go out together. Can not recommend this place enough - we will be back!

Day surf experience from an interm pov Gear: poor quality, tops are mouldy and smell bad (probably never dried), boards were pretty sliced up Instructors: some were good but majority gave no instructions other than ‘paddle’ even towards the intermediate surfers. One instructor in particular disappeared to surf himself during most of the session Communication: barely any, didn’t know how long breaks were, how long the surf session was, etc. Food: delicious so good thank you Value for money: not worth it at all. Honestly just an expensive lunch. I’ve had much better lessons in Portugal.

The Villa was great, food excellent and the Surf instructors very good with a lot of experience and good educational skills. So what are waiting for catching good waves? I had a great time in the surfcamp with very ‘handsome’ People!

The Surf Experience was great, they transport you to the best beache on the day and include a delicious lunch. All the coaches are really good. Bella was safety concious and provided helpful feedback like Mr Miyagi. George helped me a lot to catch my first green wave ! If you want to learn to surf I'd recommend The Surf Experience if you're in Lagos.

This review is about the service, not the lessons themselves. I've made a reservation a few days in advance. Because I didn't have Paypal Tony agreed to payment in cash a day before the lesson. I was running 30 minutes late, so I informed him on time. He replied that it was ok. 10 minutes before arriving I sent another message, which he replied with "ok". When I arrived he was gone. His colleague called him. Turned out he sold our places to 2 girls who passed by the shop. This was highly disrespectful - I was truly disappointed.

Cannot recommend this place enough- I do a ton of surf camps internationally a couple a year this one is hands down my favorite. Stayed in a private room for 5 days (it’s 2 min walk from the main hostel w a great view of the square below). The food is incredible the staff is unrivaled and the vibe is everything a surf camp should be. The instructors are unmatched. Great roof top area and great location in the old town. I think the best spot for a first time surf ever has to be welligama Sri Lanka- but this is an amazing euro surf spot you’ll go to praia figueras every day spend 3-4 hours surfing come back and group dinner w the crew every night (breakfast and lunch provided). Lagos is an amazing town. I booked five days literally last minute (48 hours before) and they had a spot for me. Can’t say enough about this crew- legends of stoke lore w the best vibe. Thank you for such an amazing get away and I learned a ton surfing with you guys George you are a legend and Thais your hands are anointed by the lord you slay in the kitchen

Thank you Tony’s and team! Had 4 full days of learning to surf, meeting new people and socialising in Lagos and it was one of the best weeks on our 5 months abroad. The instructors are super friendly, helpful and patient. The packed lunches each day and dinner parties were incredible (thank you to in-house plant based chef Thais). Felt the 4-day surf experience inclusive with accom was very good value. I would probably stay off-site next time due to the fact the bunk rooms were so hot with no aircon and the showers were a bit sandy at times. Will be recommending to all my friends!

Newly renovated, unique interior filled with young people with passion who enjoy what they do and positively infect the good energy. It can't be described... you just have to experience it yourself.

We didn’t stay at the hostel but did day surf trips with these guys - everyone working here is so friendly and welcoming! The instructions are good - we had Sanna who was really good, gave feedback but generally just an amazing person with lots of energy! Loved and would recommend 👍🏼

Had a blast surfing with these guys for 4 days in October. Annika and Mark were super supportive and the surfing sessions were great, I really felt I improved in such a short time span. Loved the social dinners in the evening at the house. Highly recommend The Surf Experience!

I booked a three-hour lesson. We met at 08:30, picked up the equipment and then drove to the West Coast. There we warmed up together and were then assigned to individual instructors. I had my very first surf lesson and was very happy with the teacher and the instructions. The surf instructor took time for us and explained everything calmly and went through all the steps with us again and again. The booking package also includes a delicious lunch. Gladly again! Thanks for the nice experience. 🏄🏼‍♀️🌊

Organization: I usually expect that I will get some information during the check - in. I didn’t get any info regarding the leaving time for surf, breakfast, how it work with lunch, on the beach etc.). You have to ask, ask, ask. Missing a bit communication and organizatiom from staff. Food: The food was in general fine but the breakfast was small. Surf Instructors: Not so sure how to evaluate as the instructors didn’t look motivated, more annoyed in the beginning. I didn’t progressed as I expected but last lesson ( probably thanks Mark) it was the best lesson what I had in my life. If it would be from the beginning like it, I believe that I would be much better. I want tell big thanks to Jorge. He really tried to make it nice and motivate people! I think that most people had this opinion. Surf House: In generally ok, just walls are very tiny and you hear everything. You can solve it with ears plugs. The group is still rotating, so you can meet a lot of new people what is nice It was in general nice experience
