Beautiful church. We got married here at the end of August so it will always hold a very special place for us. Lovely detailed church inside with beautiful art work. Outside has recently been restored and it looked just perfect. Lovely square right outside also.

There are two profound visual and sensory experiences that I will always associate with my visit to St Mary's, Lagos. Firstly its façade - though plain - made glorious by the vibrant, violet blossom of the jacaranda trees that frame the approach to the church. Secondly, within its darkened interior, the extraordinary impact of a crucifix, illuminated within an alcove above the high altar. Painted behind this life-sized representation of Our Crucified Lord is a group of winged angels, basking within beams of pink, purple and orange light that cascade around the curvature of the recess. It is an optical experience that one of my travelling companions described as "trippy"! On Saturday 23 September 2023, I was privileged to attend the vigil mass here, which was a wonderful experience. Worship music was led by a young male organist, accompanied by a choir of about six ladies, soprano and alto. A young lady with a beautiful voice acted as cantor, and the mass was celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Nelson Rodrigues, who, judging by the smiling faces seen all around the church during the course of his animated address, is clearly well beloved of his flock!

It's a small church you'll find on your way truth Lagos. Inside of the church looks almost like every church, except for the small chapel made from paper. (We visited the church in February so I don't know if it's still there). So inside you'll find a tribute to jesus and you'll get the opportunity to pray.

Great church service. We went for a mass and it was a new experience to hear it in Portuguese.

Beautiful Church in the heart of Lagos that holds daily Masses and opens the Church to the public for the rest of the day. Sunday Mass is at 11:30am and 6pm, will definitely be attending here.

Beautiful church near the beach and downtown area. It was nice to celebrate Mass in Portuguese. Outside the church is a lovely area with trees and benches.

Nice church near the castle. Wish we could see the Christmas market as well. It is just being setup.

Try to get to Mass here.. Its a really moving experience..

typical old local church, not really a grandeur, but gives u a feeling of serenity, solitude and simplicity. On the square just outside the church is usually something going on, like live music and some dancing when we passed by one night.
