Small castle very nice located with a gorgeous view. We did not have the most expensive room, and even though it was big with an amazing view. Laguardia is a small beautiful town, also worth visiting. Staff super friendly, at the reception (Javier) was extremely helpful, showing our way to the room and offering to carry the luggage. Dog-friendly place.

We had a wonderful stay at this grand old palace in Laguardia. Javier, the owner and our host, had endless energy to provide wonderful service. He set out a lovely, multi plate breakfast. He encouraged us to go up to the top of the tower for a spectacular view of the valley. He speaks French, which allowed us to communicate freely

Charming is the word to describe this hotel and the owner Javier. The property is beautiful, clean an cozy and the rooms are spacious. Amazing views and the town is lovely. They serves up a good breakfast. But it is Javier that makes the whole experience so much better.

We stayed for a couple of nights in September 2022, whilst doing a Rioja wine tour, on our way from Barcelona to San Sebastián. The owner was absolutely delightful, very welcoming and friendly, even opening the restaurant especially for us, as we had arrived a little later than expected due to a train delay. The meal was excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Even though we were the only four people in the restaurant, they didn’t hurry us and we left feeling grateful and very satisfied. The hotel had old fashioned elegance which was utterly charming and we were made to feel very special at all times. We would definitely recommend the hotel particularly if you enjoy the old fashioned feel and we would all happily stay again.

Fantastic place, the favorite hotel of our trip to Spain! The owner was incredibly kind and I loved seeing how passionate and proud he was of his castle. The rooms are beautifully updated and unique, and the view out of the windows is breathtaking. Also, LOOOVED the attached restaurant. I've had the absolute best cheesecake of my life here. We tried the cheesecake at 3 other locations in Spain on our trip and this was the best. UPDATE January 2024: Really miss that cheesecake

Beautiful converted historic building in a perfect location. Large comfortable rooms. Wonderful breakfast and nice restaurant for dinner. The host was welcoming and helpful. I can’t recommend more strongly.

Wow. What an incredible Hotel. We only stayed here for one night but the AC was cold, rooms clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and above all the service was bar none. Señor Javier was easily one of the best highlights of our trip to Spain. My Fiancée and I came in late from walking around the town and he was kind enough to set up a table on the terrace for us with a bottle of wine and a dessert I’m sure he made himself. If you’re anywhere near Rioja, do yourself a favor and book this hotel.

We were in a pinch and required a nights stay in Laguardia Sept 8 2023, Javier the host was magnificent he stepped in and took care of us. The Fabula room we stayed in had the most spectacular views of Laguardia. The breakfast was exemplary and was hosted by Javier a true gentleman. Thank you Javier

We booked the Amor & Locura room and were very happy with it. It is tastefully decorated, has a free standing bath and great views of the Rioja region. But what really made the property great was Javier who is extremely warm and helpful with everything. It is hard to believe that it is listed as a 2-star hotel since it contained things such as turndown service with chocolates and cakes. We also stayed at the "5-star" Marques de Riscal which we found unfriendly, impersonal and lacking in many areas. We wish we had simply stayed at Castillo El Collado the whole time.
