4
stars
for
potential
and
the
cool
free
museum.
Currently
(June
2023),
the
mall
is
in
the
process
of
installing
a
food
court,
where
they
are
going
to
have
a
"food
truck"
concept
indoors.
Sounds
really
exciting,
and
will
definitely
bring
more
foot
traffic.
The
mall
itself
has
a
very
cool
industrial-meets-modern
architectural
vibe.
You
see
the
historic
bones
of
the
original
cannery,
but
also
see
the
additions
of
modern
elements,
like
glass
windows
on
the
ceiling
and
lots
of
natural
light.
There
are
currently
many
tourist-driven
retail
venues
inside
the
mall
space.
They
are
designed
for
tourists
to
get
souvenirs.
I
bought
a
couple
of
affordable
tchotckes,
like
a
Christmas
ornament
from
Crazy
Shirts.
The
main
star
of
the
mall
(at
this
moment)
is
the
free
museum.
I
spent
quite
a
bit
of
time
in
there
soaking
in
the
history
and
admiring
the
mini-exhibits,
artifacts,
and
photographs.
I
love
history
and
imagining
the
life
of
previous
generations,
especially
since
my
kids'
great-great
grandparents
worked
the
plantations
on
Maui
and
have
history
here.
This
small
museum
packed
a
punch,
and
I
felt
pulled
into
the
past
century
very
vividly.
