Ground Reality of VIMHANS: This hospital was initially run under a wealthy man called Dr Chaudhary. This is all I know about the owner of the hospital because his real identity is kept even by the doctors and staff members. Fishy enough? The doctors usually make the diagnosis one step ahead according to a friend of mine who interned here for 3 months. For example, if the diagnosis is just depression with minor psychotic episode then they’ll label it to be Paranoid Schizophrenia, which is a severe mental illness. When my friend asked why aren’t they making the right diagnosis then the replay was, “so that if the patient gets sicker then we don’t have to rediagnose it” … Standing ovation to the doctors who don’t make the right diagnosis in the first place and keep the patient as a gone case from the very beginning. Nice way to fetch money out of their client’s not patient’s pocket because awareness around mental health is still almost till across people coming from far off villages and this is pretty much how this hospital runs. The doctors usually keep on giving medicines unless and until the patient has to be admitted again. Initially, they’d say that the medicines would continue for a few months then a couple of years more and then be lifelong. Wow… How much more can one scare a person who visited them to ask for some help? Dr Bali is keen to get her patients admitted even if there’s something as minute as having suicidal thoughts which is pretty normal. She’d ask questions like: Do you feel like dieing unless and until these words get imbibed in your psyche.

It's the best mental care in India. Even the one of the best in physician. Great ambience. Clinical staff is experienced. Other staff is also very helpful. Food court serves great food and it's hygiene as well. Rehabilitation facilities for mental and depression care. Some of great psychiatrists are here to treat and cure patient. Great Cleanliness . Never ever seen such ICU services and facilities. Even the reception and account staff is very helpful and friendly. Emergency facilities for patients are instant. It's also got bank of Baroda branch in hospital vacinity.

Very bad hospital with worse doctors. Arrogant, uncaring doctors and have no compassion for patients. My father is a patient here, and the doctors don't even bother to physically check the patient. Sitting 6 foot far from the patient, they just analyse them via conversation. They believe everything the patient says, and don't even bother to cross-question or doubt that the patient maybe lying. I tried calling them later, and the doctor was too arrogant to help over call. Don't consult the hospital if you care about your loved ones, because this hospital and their doctors don't.

I found out about Vimhans as it was one of the top hospitals for mental health. I had checked reviews online that mentioned that there is waiting so i called prior to avoid waiting as much as possible. The lady said that if you can pay before there will be less waiting. I did that but still ended up waiting for 1.5 hours. I asked the management why are people who timeslots 1:30 going in now.. he was like time lagta h. So i was like why would you give so many people time if it takes time for doctor to see patients. To this he answered if we give 30 mins to each patients how will we get appointments ? Poor time management overall. Now coming to the doctor, Sanjay Pattanayak— no doubt he is very experienced but the way he spoke to us was insensitive. He made personal remarks about us and made judgements that went beyond medical issues. He went on saying that you guys know nothing about the medicines. Well thats your job… not mine. In total his experience is overshadowed by his casual and arrogant attitude On top of this the fees at this poorly administered hospital is exorbitant for the service they are providing.

I ought to share two recent personal experiences of VIMHANS Hospital, its infrastructure / facilities and its personnel. The hospital is clean and well maintained. Its disable friendly. For my personal consultation I went to Dr. Mausami Sinha who is well qualified, knowledgeable and an aredent listener which is a must quality for a psychiatrist. Under her guidance I overcame my depression for which I am highly grateful. My second experience is with my child who is autistic and for that I went to the paediatric occupational therapy unit and consulted Mr. Ashutosh Upadhayay on the suggestion of child psychologist Dr. Monalisa Palit. I am highly disappointed by the conduct of the occupational therapy staff and occupational therapist Mr. Ashutosh Upadhyay. He doesn't answer questions properly, seems to avoid questions. He is also very unprofessional . Once i saw him holding my child's hand and sleeping in that position. And when the intern attendant saw me peeping through the gap in the door, he alerted him . And after that, just seconds later, I saw him awake. Also he takes a lot of leaves. Once he took so many leaves that he completed 12 therapy sessions in 2 months, and that too our sessions were held only on odd days i.e. three sessions per week. My 6 month's precious time in my child's growth was wasted due to his negligence and careless attitude. There is no monitoring screen outside for parents to watch. You leave your child to them and stay in oblivion as to what is happening inside. They are functioning like there is no accountability. They have tied children and their caregivers to them as they don't change therapy programs according to child's growth and abilities and as a result, at least in my case, my child after showing initial signs of improvement, his growth remained stagnant. So I withdrew my kid from there and instead took him to another home based therapist and after that he showed immense growth. On the other hand, speech therapist Ms. Deepika Mahendru is very knowledgeable, helpful and dedicated. I felt that for my child she made accurate and spot on observations. This review is not to demean anyone or increase anyone's credibility , instead its my own personal observation and experience. It is an honest attempt to guide parents and caregivers and concerned professionals/ personnels to up their game and provide necessary compliance to parents because, we, as parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children, our time is precious, our children are at a crucial developmental stage of life, so any lax or delay or careless attitude of yours can cause immense harm to us and our children. The money will eventually come back but the wasted time will never. Also the money is not the big issue here; it is the service that we expect from you that matters. As professionals you have to be careful and uptight in your service and guidance to us. Please keep all this in mind before fooling parents and wasting their time, money, emotions and expectations.

I have good experience Vimhans Hospital. I visit the hospital for psychiatrist department there is a very good doctor Sonali Bali very soft spoken and very sharp minded. Infrastructure of the hospital is very nice and staff is very cooperative. Very neat and clean hospital if i talk about toilets I would like to give them 5 star for the cleaning of the toilets it is outstanding by cleaningness. Pharmacy is not so good because they do not provide discounts.

This hospital is a horrible combination of poor efficiency like a govt hospital and high cost of a private hospital. You need to wait 4-5 hours on average waiting to see the doctor even with an appointment in advance. They push to admit you inside in-patient care just to inflate the bills. Doctors go on holidays even when you’re admitted under their care and see you via video calls once just for the sake of it. They don’t diagnose carefully and over diagnose to scare patients and families. They don’t explain properly, just give pills for everything and want to keep you hooked on the meds even when not needed. We changed 3 doctors Dr Shivani Aggarwal, Dr Mausami Sinha and Dr Sanjay Pattnaik but the consultation experience was still poor. Last 2 docs i.e. Dr. M Sinha and Sanjay are still decent but are not reachable enough. The management is the worst, they cram too many hourly appointments for greed and keep patients waiting forever.

It used to be good but now it's operating standards have gone down. Every appointment is taking 5 hrs including travelling and waiting at hospital. They don't even care to be hospitable to patients and provide them water. If this is the level of service for people struggling mental healthwise God knows what they will provide to others

Got admitted twice for surgery but the nurses and staffs are not at all professional and cooperative. They don't respond to call bell and at the billing counter the lady is sitting just to get money from the patients. After telling her that i have an insurance and this is a cashless procedure she started asking about my policies and she made me to pay cash, although it was later got refunded ( Thanks to prystn care) Hospital infrastructure is good, if you take a private ward it is luxurious but the services are poor when it comes to nurses and resident doctors.

It used to be a great hospital for Neurology, Mental Health and Brain related treatment but since the time it has become Vimhans Nayati Hospital it has become pathetic. Services are ridiculous. From the time you enter the reception till the time you come out, the experience is not good at all. The guy at reception was inefficient and useless. He couldn't even copy from the written form. He was totally stupid. There was only one Neurologist in the entire hospital at that day. You can't even consult anybody except only one doctor. That's weird. I visited Dr. Sairam Natarajan for my issue and he was behaving like a patient himself. He was treating everybody the same and repeated only thing again and again like 100 times the entire time I was in the room. Whatever I ask or say he kept repeating "kuchh nahi hua, theek ho jaega". I informed him about my dizziness and he said It's seizures. You have Mirgi. And suggested me seizure medicines for 3 years without even seeing anything. There was one lady who was sitting next to him he kept saying the same thing. The doctor couldn't even talk properly and I think he needed a treatment before he treat other people. It is really very dangerous to have doctors like him in the hospital who don't know anything and treating people with mental issues. I seriously think he had some issues. The hospital is charging ₹1200 for consultation for a treatment like that when I didn't even have that problem. I consulted another doctors in AIIMS and other hospitals and every doctor was saying the same thing that I don't have seizures or anything like that. I didn't have anything serious and Dr. Sairam shouldn't have prescribed me those medicines as those are harmful for me. This hospital is treating their patients very casually with doctors like Dr. Sairam Natarajan. Pathetic, Ridiculous and Disgusting. Never ever come here to a place who don't even care about their patients other people for money.

Recently went to Delhi Vimhans hospital for my mother's gallstone surgery through Pristyn Care and I would like to speak out loud that this was the horrible experience for us. Right through the bookings and up to discharge, we faced a lot of issues with Nayati medical staff and Pristyn Care. The caretakers were just there for completing their shifts, they were not in sync with what patients are being treated and what they need. They were even wondering why there are more patients getting admitted because they have to serve them now. Before the surgery we were told that we would be informed as soon as the surgery is done. The surgery was of around 2 hours but when we did not get any call even after waiting for 4 hours, we went to OT and found that the surgery was already done. We were already troubled by the surgery and they did not even informed us about it. In this time, our doctor also left hospital when he did not find us there just because we were not informed. We made a complaint of this. It didn't stop there, after surgery when my mother was taken back to her ward, she asked to go to washroom and strangely there were no nurse or helper to help my mother. They had just one helper on almost 10 admitted patients and that too was having lunch. After around 20 minutes - you can see how much this time is when we have an urge of bathroom and my mother was in pain. Nobody came and then me and my brother called out the medical staff about their service. They said they have asked someone to come and help. We asked for the helpline number and they pointed us to a signboard with Complaint and Helpline number of hospital. To our biggest surprise, the person on the helpline number started yelling at us. He said call Pristyn Care because you are not our patient. He was just furious without any reason. When we told him about the issues he said he is coming there. And after coming he started yelling again on us. He was some youngster with no respect and understanding of what patients and their family is going through. All the time he was saying that your are from Pristyn Care, you call them. I wonder for washroom also we need to call Pristyne?!! Not only that, the Pristyne person also called and said why are you doing hungama in hospital and started yelling. I made him understand in his own language and then someone else picked his phone and apologized. After that, the same person called me again and said sorry. If you are reading through, I warn you and suggest you not to avail services from Pristyne or Nayati as we had a very bad experience. Anyone can contact me for all the details. Thanks, Ravinder Verma

The reception (general) staff misguided me saying I need to see a psychiatrist first when I only wanted to see a psychologist directly There is no fault of the concerned psychiatrist and the concerned psychologist here. But, the overall management at VIMHANS is terrible. There is no sync between the departments here I contacted VIMHANS to seek CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) for managing my OCD. I am already on medication so I only wanted to see a psychologist. But, I was told that, since I am a new patient I need to first book a consultation with a psychiatrist and only after that I will be referred to a psychologist I said no problem, at least I will get a referral and paid 1700 rupees The psychiatrist referred me to a psychologist (who happens to be the best at VIMHANS and specializes in managing OCD) but the psychologist is not taking new cases. I said I don't mind waiting for 1-2 months but at least give me an appointment. I was refused. I feel my 1700 has got wasted because I could not get the desired referral (that is written on my case sheet). I am told I can go to "any other psychologist" In the end, if I had to go to "any other psychologist" then why did I pay 1700 for the psychiatrist consultation to get a referral as I was told earlier? I could have gone directly to a psychologist.

Third class service if your patient is in panic no one will be there to handle it as Dr patnaiks mob.number isn't there and if you will call to the hospital they will say talk to the dr. We can't do anything and they aren't allowed to give you the number of the doctor as per Mr Ravi and there is no junior Dr available at night on the behalf of Dr patnaik on call I just wanted to know the substitute of the medicine which Dr has prescribed and it wasn't available anywhere (may be except vimhans) so according to our conversation he was saying leave them without the medicine till the doctor will be available.. services are getting worst day by day of vimhans.. won't recomend this place BETTER TO GO TO THE SARKARI HOSPITAL

Worst is Dr. Nitin only there to collect money and when I tried talking to him he was like not really interested. Just wrote medicine and that’s it! I do expect more than this from a psychiatrist. He is senior Dr. But Is worst than any junior very rude and arrogant behaviour with a patient. Extremely bad experience

Had a corn surgery on leg at VIMHANS via practo, though the experience with practo surgery was not good, but really liked the hospital facility, their staff and cleanliness. There is alwasy scope of improvements, for example, one night I stayed there, they were cleaning the ward from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM, disturbing the sleep, this should be done in the normal working hours.

Absolutely no respect for patients time. 1st visit, the wait was 4 and half hour. 2nd visit, 2hours. After taking prior appointment. Considering that patients here could be suffering from anxiety, a little sensitivity would be welcome.

Dr. Sanjay Pattanayak may be good but he is not at all accessible even in an emergency. To take appointments one has to toil and talk to a really rude woman. When I requested her to streamline her processes, she simply blocked me on the phone. Avoid this hospital if you can because you won't get the support you need.

My father got admitted for knee replacement surgery at Nayati Vimhans Hospital. The orthopedic team comprised of Dr. Vaibhav Jain, Dr. D Mohatpatra and Dr. Deepak Thakur is very experienced and fabulous team. My parents were very much happy with the entire experience at the hospital. The entire staff was very helpful and courteous and maintained the cleanliness in these unprecedented times. I would like to recommend this hospital and this fabulous team to everyone who's looking for any sort of orthopedic surgery.

I had come in this Hospital through "Practo Care Surgeries" basically Practo Care Surgeries" is a commission agent company/mediator between hospital and patient, while anyone search Hospital for treatment they find a page of Practo on Google, once anone fill his/her details in this page they receive call from Practo sales team, they listen patients problem and assured each and every halp and all the commitment and tells patients that they have tie up with best hospitals and take full responsibility but as per my experience "Practo Care Surgeries" hired good liers in company like Simran Notani, she gave me several commitments before admission but after my surgery there are huge difference between their commitments and actuals like Hospital expenses, pre and post expenses, responsibility of Practo etc, now situation is that Practo Sales Lier person Simran Notani has not been receiving my calls since hospital discharge, because she knew after approval from my TPA HDFC "Practo Care Surgeries" will get their Commission so would request to disband all the contacts with Practo Care Surgeries otherwise image of Vimans will also be tarnished, let patients come there own in your Hospital rest Good services, cleaning, good supportive staff. I would recommend People do not trust "Practo Care Surgeries" they are only commission agent between Hospital and Patient, they committ a lots of things but - एक बार फसने के बाद आप उसे तभी बाहर आ सकते हैं जब आपका ट्रीटमेंट हो जाएगा और उसके बाद प्रैक्टो केयर में सिमरन नौटानी जैसी कहने लगेगी कि यह आपकी टीपीए और हॉस्पिटल के बीच का मुद्दा है। Thanks be careful.
