We have many choices in our area - and at this price point, the quality of the food and service should have a high level of attention to detail. I gave one-star for several reasons: 1. When our party of four was led to the table, the Hostess did not wait till we were seated to hand us each a menu - she threw the menus in the middle of the table and walked away. 2. Then, another Server came by and placed all bread, parm, oil and olives on top of the menus, we had to remove all this to get to the menus. 3. Our Server was great - he said he was new, but was knowledgeable about the menu items, courteous, and friendly (he should get 5 stars). 4. Our food was sub-par. In particular, the spicy red sauce was too spicy (uneatable) and the pasta was undercooked. The appetizer bruschetta was tasteless tomatoes, no garlic and topped with huge "globs" of fresh mozzarella. We have dined here in the past, with less than stellar food and service. But, others have rated it so well, we thought we'd return for another try. We still love the atmosphere, decor and intimate feeling of this restaurant. Again, so many choices in our area - non of us would recommend this venue. We won't be coming back.

Nice, but not as nice as in the past. Service was a little spotty and a few dishes were overcooked — not our experience a year ago. Still, a nice experience with family. My favorite this time were the arancini and Tagliatelle al Bosco.

Has a lot of potential. Seems there's a staff bickering and arguing problem - not everybody is on the team, some unhappiness. This 100% comes directly from poor management/leadership by example and ownership. Things were slow, really slow, even though no customers when we arrived. Waiter kinda ignored us, at times, enough so it was two hours instead of 1.5 hours for three of us. Food was above average to good, select items were excellent. Again, it has a lot of potential.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Sometimes it's delicious other times mediocre. This night, everything needed salt. So bland and super al dente. Service was just okay. The waiter never cleaned the breadcrumbs from the table like at similar price point restaurants. We did that ourselves. After eating, we waited a significant time for the waiter to come and clear the table and bring to-go boxes. Again, sometimes the food and experience is great this just wasn't one of those nights.

An ok place to have dinner. Food was good, but not amazing. Wait staff seemed to be stretched very thin, our server was non-stop flustered, but still very friendly. The grilled calamari had delicious flavor but were too chewy. Lobster ravioli sauce was a bit more fishy than I would have liked, but the ravioli itself was very good.

This would be a good restaurant for us to visit in the future since we do not live too far. Food taste pretty good, and I like Italian food. 5 star. We visit them at least once a year for anniversary. It is a special place.

The food was not quite to my taste but it was my fault. I ordered something I never tried before and it wasn't my thing. Food quality is excellent. I will definetly return.

My bf and I came here shortly after moving to the area. The service was good and the food was even better. You can taste that everything was made in house including the pasta. The atmosphere was great, but maybe a little bit loud for a date night.

Wow , guys this is probably the most authentic Italian around , the branzino fish i havent had any better it cant be any better !!! Definitely a+ place

Great local spot near Lake Barrington Shores & Tower Lakes. Have eaten and drank many of times. Martinis (and any of there drinks) are of a higher quality level. Quality Italian Faire. Quality white table Service! Depending on what your looking for In Ambiance, they have various sections at this fine dining establishment. Looking forward to stopping by again, with friends & my Bride. Mangia & Cheers!

We are new to the area and we're looking for a more upscale restaurant to go to. We visited zaza's on a whim and were blown away with the atmosphere, food and customer service. Lou, who is the restaurant manager was so attentive and came to our table and talked to us to tell us a bit more about the restaurant. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to work our way through the menu🙂

Insalata ZaZa, rigatoni w/ vodka sauce and sausage crumbles, and pear bread pudding... Very good!

One of the best Italian restaurants in the area, Great wine and amazing capacious. The artichoke app is a definite must

I highly recommend ZaZa's.....unless you hate great food and top service. Grace is the perfect server. Bright and highly positive. We all loved the halibut and desserts. I'd write more but I'm watching a movie. Just go!!!!

We were from out of town. Chicken Parmesan is my go to dish when ordering Italian food and Zsa Zsa hit a home run! Delicious! Very good Bruschetta, Bread and Desserts. Good service. Strongly recommend reservations. We had one and walked right in on a busy night. Total experience for 3 took a little over one hour.

Food was astonishingly of poor quality. The bruschetta was water logged and the crab cakes were way over done, but it was all served cold at room temperature. Can't say that chef knows what they are doing. The steak was not bad though. Think twice about visiting this place.
