Absolutely terrible owner. Trying to cancel the membership is excruciatingly difficult. You have to give them 30days notice after the day you decide to quit. And you can't even call them to cancel, they make you go crawl over there and hand them piece of paper that says that you want to cancel. Doesn't matter it's because you're moving or signed up for another Gym. They milk you for an extra month. Just raping you one last time. They claim it's how all the franchise does it, that's BS. I've been to snap fitness in different states and was able to cancel no problem. First time i signed up, the owner complained how they don't have enough members, you know why? This is why you Cheap old man. You hide this little clause in your contract and rape people one last time.

Dirtiest gym I've ever been to. Needs a deep cleaning. Machines are dusty and bathroom is nasty. Doesn't seem like the owners care how bad it is. The one in Round Lake in so much better and cleaner. I'll stick to Round Lake for now.

expensive for how small the gym is and how outdated the equipment is. Was a member of this gym in high school 10 years ago and not one thing has changed. Gym is also dirty dust everywhere and roof leaks when it rains in a few spots. Only reason I still continue to go is because it close to my house and no other gyms in Grayslake

If you're interested in weight training look elsewhere. They don't even have a real bench press. Barbells be damned. For $29 bucks a month you would at least hope they had all basic weightlifting options.

There are two other Snap Fitness locations not too far from this one, and as such I would only recommend this one if it is very close to you. Even if it is, don't expect much. The equipment has never been updated for the most part, which means the treadmills offer little more than a worn-down rotating belt. They are uncomfortable to run on. The TVs attached to the treads and the ellipticals get about 10 channels, and the big-screen TVs aren't placed at effective angles. The other equipment shows its age, and some basic things like the clocks and scale are not reliable. The place could be cleaner. The primary problem, though, is the owner. He is unresponsive and uninterested in concerns members bring to him, and is too busy combating your perceptions of the gym with his claim that it is a beautiful place to work out. He should visit a few other Snap gyms and get a reality check, though I doubt that will change his perceptions. Join if you must and if it's convenient to your location, but be prepared for aches and pains that go beyond what you'll pick up from the run-down equipment.

I had an errand to run in Gurnee so I went to this gym instead of the very nice and clean Round Lake location. I asked the staff member about cleaning as I hadn’t been to this location before, they have like 2 spray bottles (With SIMPLE GREEN) and paper towels for wiping stuff down and the associate was super rude about it. He was like “oh yeah it’s all there” I’m like oh…had to find them on my own as he never even got up from surfing the internet to at least show me how they have their cleaning stations at up.He just said “we’ve been here since 2008” and I told him yeah I can tell thanks for your help…the equipment was old and not In the best working function, and the gym itself wasn’t very clean at all. The sub par conditions and the rude attitude of the staff have me giving this 1 star. There are several other snaps in the area and I definitely would go out of my way to avoid this one.

The gym feels like your dad's basement gym, very small and not much good cardio equipment. They require 30 day advance notification to cancel so basically they'll charge you the whole current month and the whole next month (for me an extra $100) when you cancel. They aren't very gracious about it, either, friendly though they may be when you're signing up for a membership. Not recommended.

I called to cancel my membership on April 1, 2020 but they kept charging my credit card for 3 months. When I called the owner with an evidence, he was extremely rude and refused to issue refund despite my evidence. They are very unprofessional, their equipment is mostly malfunctioning and they do not maintain anything. The roof also leaks and it is very unsafe. They just run your credit cards and don't care about anything else. They never pick up the phone even during daytime and want you to chase them down if you have to resolve a billing issue. They also have some hidden charges so beware. I had terrible experience with this location!

I believe this Snap Fitness is going out of business please check before you arrive.

We started our daughter when she was 4 months old. She's now 9 months old and we still go. Jackie the instructor has done a great job of making myself, my daughter and wife all feel very comfortable with the water. Our daughter enjoys the water and overall swim class. Sean and the other instructors make sure classes start and end on time. We really enjoy the program!

We love the British Swim School! Our 14 year old son has been in swim lessons off and on since he was an infant. He has extremely low muscle tone and has never been able to get the hang of the strokes and the rhythm of the breathing. During his first lesson at the British Swim School, I saw him using skills he'd never been able to accomplish before. It's only been a month and he's already starting to swim almost the length of the pool! He is so proud of himself and we are amazed at his progress. Jackie, Sean, Robert and Chris are very supportive of our son and all the kids at the pool. It's been a great experience and we're excited to continue!

Worst owner ever. Will charge you one more time after cancelation. Did not want to take a look at cameras when i forgot my watch and never got it back. This guy never wanted to help in any way. NOT RECOMMENDED

I got to make this review a very simple the owner is a total jerk.

How is this place still in business? Look at all of the awful reviews on Google, Yelp, and Facebook. They all say the same thing... rude, unprofessional owner/manager. I have had the exact same problems as everyone else. They continue to charge for months after being asked to cancel. The person on the phone was absolutely rude, unprofessional, and generally quite awful.

This gym is not 24 hrs!! Came on a Sunday night to find the gym closed but with the open sign on, tv on and no attendant 👎🏼😏

Gone in 5 times now during “staffed hours” to cancel my membership and no one has been there any of the times. Other snaps will not let me cancel since I signed up at this one. They also will randomly charge me $55 instead of $35 for no reason. DO NOT waste your money here. Go to zip fitness for A LOT cheaper and better equipment.

Of the three local Snap Fitness franchises, this one is usually the least crowded and their use of limited space is done well with the usual variety of machines. The repairs to some of the Cybex machines' pulse monitor handgrips are MacGuyvered together with electrical tape, but they still function fine. I understand the logistics probably don't work for this location and it's just a minor thing, but compared to the other two, this Snap uses paper towels instead of real ones for cleaning the equipment after use.

I started my daughter on swimming lessons 5 weeks ago,and I have to say that she loves it!! I’m very happy with all the instructors they are so nice and so patient with all the kids ,even my daughter is only Spanish speaking they do anything it needs to teach her I definitely recommend British swimming school! 😃😃😃

We love the British Swim School in Round Lake Beach! We have had such a great experience there, especially with our instructor Jackie! She is patient with the kids, really great with families and you can tell she loves what she does! Our son has been in swim lessons here since he was 6 months old and he has learned so much and gained a lot of confidence in the water.

Thank you British Swim School for giving my daughter a chance to experience new things about swimming she really enjoyed her self going to every session she learned a lot from all of you guys👌👍Thank you once again!!

I love snap but this location could use some improvements for maintaining the cardio equipment. Weight machines are in good condition. Small gym but gets the job done.

British swim school in Round Lake Beach is great! The swim instructors are awesome and really care about my kids learning the correct strokes and are very personable. My son is 12 years old and never had lessons prior to this and is now swimming and knows different strokes and is loving it! My daughter is 18 and has never had swim lessons as well. Growing up so she was always nervous about going to the pool. She would always hang out by the wall cause it made her feel safe. She was nervous about coming but the instructors made her feel welcomed and she ended up loving it! She learned a lot in a short amount of time!

My work schedule changes from week to week, and I love the flexibility of rescheduling a make up session. I also enjoy the flexibility of going to different area pools to be able to make up a session. I started taking lessons 2 months ago and am still surprised at how far I've come in such a short period of time. Thank you to all the instructors and managers!

My daughter started swimming last year she is having fun and learning, also she is not fear any more for being at the pool

When we signed up our son for swim we wanted him to learn how to swim for his safety. Little did we know that it took off from there! He loves swimming so much we are continuing his classes even though we know he is safe to swim. He has really excelled his skills for swim and we couldn't be any happier! The instructors are amazing. The manager is ALWAYS a breath of fresh air. Very friendly! I'd recommend British swim school any day! Thank you!

Couldn't be happier with our son's experience here. Went from a kid who didn't like water to a kid who counts down the days til his next lesson. Tried several park district programs before this and he learned more in two lessons at British Swim School than he did in two years at two different other programs. Great instructors and program. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing experience at this school. So far, I could not be happier at the progress zoe is making. We took lessons at the Park District in Grayslake prior to this school, but she did not learn a thing. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed it. But the learning speed at this place is absolutely fascinating. I did not think that 3 year old can swim this much!

Manager Tony is very disrespectful

Not ideal. My home gym in Lindenhurst closed due to the pandemic and this is the next closest snap, so I was hoping this could work for me. However, their equipment is not cleaned or maintained, I have yet to see even one member clean or wipe down any equipment. The bathroom was gross and I'd refuse to change in there again. No power rack in a gym is unexceptable, imo. It could work for you if you only need machines, cardio and free weights and are not worried about cleanliness but I'd look elsewhere as I think this place is a poor value overall. The place could be fine if a little effort was put into cleaning and maintenance. The amount of dust on the equipment and mats is unsettling.

Thanks to all the nice folks at the British swim school of Round Lake Beach. Everybody is patient, especially as my little one is going through his tantrums phase :) but with the kind guidance and help with the swim instructors he is progressing everyday. Great people and great learning for kids.

We have had a great experience here! My son was nervous about swimming and after just a few short sessions he was excited to go to his class. I love that they have evening appointments and all the staff are very friendly!

My son really enjoys swimming at the Round Lake beach location. He had moved up 3 levels since he began swimming 9 months ago. He is already learning strokes I never learned in my childhood swim lessons. I think the small class sizes and energetic instructors really make a difference! He really gets excited every time he earns a new cap.

We are very happy with our swim school, friendly and positive environment and swimming instructors are just awesome. My son really enjoys every class and learn how to swim. Swimming pool is always clean and warm.

Not a bad gym just don't expect much but a place to work out.

We go twice a week and our experience has been really good. The instructors are friendly, patient, kind and do a good job of building on skills week to week. My youngest has sensory processing issues and they've done a great job of building/stretching her comfort level each week while making it fun. Both my kids have gained tons of confidence in the water, and are so proud of their new skills. We're all very happy!

Our son has now been attending classes for 6 months and we’ve definitely seen an incredible improvement with how comfortable he is in the water. He’s 5 years old and had no prior experience with swimming classes. I was initially concerned that he needed to start with the basic/intro class... thinking we’d be wasting $... but he quickly learned the basic skills and the instructors were great with advancing him to the next level(s) at the right time. Asia is amazing! Kids are constantly moving in/out of levels so at times our son will be with kids more advanced or vice versa but Asia is always great at tailoring the session to each child.

My son joined 3 months ago and learned so much in such less time. He looks forward to the classes and very much motivated to get to the next level. Close to home with very friendly staff. Jackie is the best teacher and Sean is very friendly and always around to help. Thanks Sue.

My Son loves swimming so we decided to enroll him at the british swim school to learn how to swim and proper safety on the water. The teachers are so friendly and always make sure kids are safe and learning while having fun!

British swimming School taught me how to swim with an amazing form and speed I used to be the slowest but now I'm one of the fastest.

We’ve going here for few months, it is a great experience, Jackie has been working with my boys, she is great. Sean is also always very helpful with scheduling.

Nathan has been going to British Swim School in Round Lake for over a year now. He just started swimming again after a year break because he wanted to come back. He has learned all the basics and working on his backstroke and butterfly, but he just wants to keep coming back to class every week. What I love most about British Swim School is it’s flexibility with time. You can make up for absences anytime .Sean is very accommodating and Asia is a wonderful instructor.It’s like paying for a semi-private class for a reasonable price.
