my mother and I came here for lunch after riding the vintage holiday train. They let us into the bar because it was really crazy packed on a Sunday afternoon. They were nice enough to also, let us put our names down for the table and then they moved us to the table as soon as our meal came. It is a New Orleans style restaurant, with a balcony up top and they play live music on Sundays. They have Lots of smaller tables surrounding a bigger bar. I think the largest table I saw sat six people. You do require reservations to come here so keep that in mind. You can also sit on the top balcony as well. It’s a good spot for people watching. The place is really bright and happy. I love the pink and green colors across the walls and it does feel like you are in New Orleans. We tried the gumbo which was excellent and a large portion, the jambalaya which is really meant for 2 and the bread pudding which comes with an outstanding salted caramel ice cream. For drinks we had the all or nothing and it was pretty strong! All the food tasted authentically creole and was super delicious. Come with a large appetite! The whole meal with tip was $100 for 2 people. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back :)

Barbie and I stopped here for my best friends birthday. The food and drinks were amazing. Specifically the drinks. Absolutely gorgeous ambiance and decor. Outdoor seating on the NYC streets. The oysters were decent. The fries smacked. I will definitely go again for drinks! For more reviews or review request, find me on most platforms as @melissasktheartist 😁

Great food and ambiance with a live band playing from the second floor, and great service. Fantastic happy hour (one of the best I’ve seen!) the pan broiled oysters and Cajun shrimp were outstanding. Great selection of drinks and cocktails. Be sure to check out the speakeasy in the basement - they offer a other selection of specialty cocktails and lively ambiance. Perfect for a date or a nightcap.

Service was great. Very accommodating and prompt. The drinks were creative and so tasty that I wanted to try them all. Food are still great after my third visit here. During my last visit on a Sunday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised that they did brunch. I will be back again with even more people. For my birthday, I was given a list of places to choose from and I chose this place. Glad I did.

One of the best places in NYC for good food, good service and live music. The charbroiled oysters were delicious, full of butter sauce on a bed of lettuce and bread. Excellent! Gumbo was very good as well. The shrimp Po boy es good but could have more shrimps. The The begnets we're good but it could be a bit lighter and fluffier. Overall I've if the better modern Cajun food. Prices were reasonable. There were outside seating and beautifully decorated restaurants. On the mezzanine is where a small band would play. Protip. Weekends there is live music. Check with the restaurant for times. Reservations are needed. It's busy. We went late lunch after 2.30pm and there was no waiting.

This was a very great place to eat and dine in. The outdoor tables were very great to sit and relax in, nice fresh wind and very pretty decorations. The food portion sizing was very good, big enough to share. The fries and chips were crisp, the sauce was well flavored, and everything was delicious. This was very true to New Orleans flavor and food, definitely a place worth visiting. The staff were VERY nice and welcoming and accommodating, making sure that we were well attended to and wasn’t missing anything and afterwards made sure we were all set to go. Would definitely recommend!

Overall rating: 4.2 I’m a bit particular when it comes to NOLA restaurants in NYC. I have been searching for a charbroiled oyster that tastes exactly like New Orleans for the last 6 years. I’ve been close to finding a spot in LES, but the price was outrageous. I’ve been here at night for a drink and it’s very lively and cute. Coming back for food at lunchtime was a bit of a different experience. In my opinion, the Mac and cheese was not seasoned well. Had a nice little kick, but def needed some salt and pepper and maybe old bay 🤔 didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. The charbroiled oysters were good. The seasoning was very good! That said, they could have been broiled a bit more. It was missing the char taste I’ve been longing for. If you haven’t been to New Orleans these are very good. If you have, they’re still good, but they are not it. The space is soo pretty and I feel like this is a great spot to hang with a group of friends. Not sure if the pricing is worth it to me, but I can see why it’s crowded with tourists.

Dropped by on a whim the other day. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, service and the overall ambience. We ended up sharing a tuna nicoise salad and a rack of baby back ribs between two. The ribs came with a side of mac and cheese and coleslaw. The amount of food was more than enough for two. The highlights for me was definitely the mac and cheese and coleslaw. The ribs were still good, but the sides were GREAT. Service was good, no-nonsense. Atmosphere was nice with a live jazz band. I'd definitely recommend anyone looking for a good feed and good vibes to drop by.

I don’t know where to begin on how wonderful my friends and I ate at this restaurant. We seriously underestimated how great this restaurant turned out. Everything we had from the drinks to dessert was extremely delicious. My friend ordered the Hurricane. He liked it very much. I ordered the Summer Sangria. It was very yummy. My other close friend ordered the Purple Reign. She liked it so much that she ordered it a second time. Then came the appetizers. Honestly I’ve never had Creole food so I was really excited to try it and my anticipation paid off. My friend ordered the Gumbo. We all completely fell in love with it. We literally fighting each other for the shrimp. Lol! The Gumbo was so good that I ordered a second plate to take home. I ordered the Jambalaya. Seeing that it was my first time trying it I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the XO noodles. He really liked it. My other friend ordered the Bouillabaisse. She savored it. She loved dipping her bread into the sauce. I noticed how generous the portions are. The Gumbo can be a meal in itself. We all took our leftovers home with us. For dessert we ordered the beignets and the bread pudding. We all agreed the bread was the hit of the entire meal. It was so delicious! Our server was extremely nice and attentive to us. I can go on and on of all the great things about this restaurant. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Everyone should experience it for themselves.

Great New Orleans inspired restaurant with an excellent brunch on weekends. Live music accompanies most brunch times (mostly jazz but with a smattering of other acoustic sets), great atmosphere and big windows to watch what’s going on outside. Also have a great outdoor eating space. Good cocktails (Bloody Mary is a favorite). Definitely recommend the Gumbo!

Love the layout of this place! When you walk in, the bar is at the center, with seating all around it. There's also a second floor that makes you feel like you're really in New Orleans. What really added to the atmosphere was a live jazz band. We only got drinks but the food smelled really good. They have jambalaya! The Jean laffite dragon fruit drink was really cute- highly recommend if you enjoy the smell of lavender. The Bloody Mary really packed a punch but it amazing. Come for the atmosphere and stay for they drinks.

great patio seating, various beverage to choose from, the pink sangria drinks looks awesome. l love my catfish burger, the fish was lightly battered and deep fried. love the green salad on the side. bun was soft, not a big fan of the pink mayo dressing though. fries was crunchy and soft inside. a great place to gather with friends.

A short walk from the Oculus is a 1803 NYC ( Creole Style Restaurant), a not so hidden gem, but it was my first time there. Due train delays we were late for our 1p reservation(1:31p). The hostess told us our reservation was canceled after 30 minutes, and our options were to sit at the bar or outside even though it was not very busy. We opted for the bar, and it was the best decision because the bartender ERIC (A+ service)was phenomenal. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great drinks. The brunch menu was soild with great pitcher drink options ( BE CAREFUL WITH THAT "FRENCH 75" 🫠), the shucked ostyer were fresh and delicious, the Jambalaya was good too. The Crawfish Cake Benedict was ok it had a good amount of oil soaked into the patties, but the eggs and hollandaise sauce were perfect. The home fries were cooked but lacked the fried exterior that I normally expect with home fries. There was a live jazz band play, and Eric also let us know that there is a "Speak-Easy" during the week....will definitely be going back for that!!! It's definitely worth the time if you are in the area!!

We picked 1803 for our lunch. The place is unique with good food. We tried duck breast and Bronzino. Tasted pretty good. Service was timely. The furniture need some updates as the chair was wobbly and uncomfortable.

Really good late night restaurant. Quick service and nice atmosphere. The food was delicious. We got two steaks, the shrimp tacos and the rice with shrimps and chicken. Highly recommended if you’re visiting the World Trade Center in the evening and want a late bite. There is an outdoor space as well.

I hesitate to call this restaurant the best fun restaurant in NYC because frankly there are just so many incredible restaurants in this city, there’s no way I’m going to know about all of them! An every day a new one pops out that makes the decision harder :) BUT honestly 1803 is really really up there in top fun list because they also have live amazing jazz music 🎶 🎼. A casual, fun , environment with good food and great music that can truly turn your night to a happy night and you can really have a good time. 💃🏻 🕺🏻 🎶 🤩

As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're in NOLA! Beautiful decor and live music playing bring extra joy. Its a nice touch of floral wallpaper that brings you into a Bourbon street Cafe. We ordered the Mango Bellini, trust me...it was really good (another round please!) Food was to die for, especially the crawfish cakes.. Everyone should check it out!

Transported straight to the heart of NOLA at 1803 NYC 🎷🍤✨. Delicious Creole-inspired flavors, top-notch cocktails, and a vibe that’s pure jazz. The low lights and the soft jazz music created a very romantic vibe. I can’t wait to explore more at this Tribeca gem! 🌃🎶

Great place to get Creole food. I had the vegan jambalaya and the jerk cauliflower tacos. My partner tried the jambalaya with chicken and sausage. The vegan jambalaya had pineapples and cashews which added a nice flavor to it. The tofu in the vegan jambalaya was the star! We also had the bread pudding for desert and I would definitely recommend it. Overall a great place for dinner.

I loved my experience at 1803. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely and really feels like you are transported to New Orleans. I was there on a Tuesday night and there was live music from the balcony all evening long. The food and drinks were great too. I had their mezcal cocktail which I really enjoyed. The charbroiled oysters are a must order as well as the brussel sprouts. The shrimp lettuce wraps were good as well. The jambalaya is not something I'd order again. The portion sizes are really good for the small plate / appetizers. I will definitely visit them again!

Loved the ambience and indoor decor of the place. Cocktails were great. The live band on the balcony is good entertainment. We got the jambalaya (a favorite of the place) but was disappointing it lacked spices and proper flavor like true creole cooking. Also got the friend chicken meal which came with boneless chicken resembling tenders (was expecting chicken in bones) so that was a let down. The "biscuit" it come with was more of a fresh baked dinner roll. Charbroiled Oysters for the appetizer were excellent . Would def come back for cocktails and the vibe of the place.

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance was cozy, and the soft lighting created a relaxing and intimate dining experience. The menu offered a delightful array of options, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients that burst with flavor. From the appetizers to the main course and desserts, every bite was a delight to the senses. The service was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional, offering insightful recommendations and accommodating any special requests I had. Their professionalism and genuine warmth made me feel like a valued guest throughout the evening. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the attention to detail in the presentation of each dish was impressive. Every plate was beautifully arranged, showcasing the chef's artistic touch. It was evident that they took great pride in their craft. The restaurant's commitment to creating a memorable dining experience extended beyond the food and service. The ambiance was enhanced by tasteful background music, and the overall atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal and create lasting memories. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a truly exceptional dining experience. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual meal with friends or loved ones, this restaurant will surely leave you satisfied and wanting to return for more. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in their culinary delights."

Fried oysters 10/10 Corn Salad-let the chef know he out did himself. So perfect. Jambalaya- wow I’m from Charleston, SC, but that will put some real south in yo mouth Pecans and String beans! No she better don’t, never would have thought of it. Had a nonalcoholic beer I have never heard of before, and it was awesome. Atmosphere, calm, cute, sat out doors, relaxing perfect day Maria, our server. What an angel. Paid close attention without hovering. Will recommend and return. Thank you.

Recently came here for brunch. We ordered the signature gumbo (flavourful, but came with too much soup and not enough rice in my opinion) and the jambalaya (decent as well, although I wish its flavour were a bit stronger/sharper). Overall I liked the food, but I wasn't blown away, and I thought the prices were a bit steep. Other than the food, I liked how the dining environment was open and well-lit. I also enjoyed the live music performed by the talented band. While I really liked the music, I will say it was a bit loud, and made it hard to hear people/hold a conversation.

Pretty decorations on the outside. I walk in and the smell of the food and the drinks is amazing. I only got French fries. Why? My family and I were looking for a place for our kids to use the bathroom on a Sunday. Way more difficult to find in this neighborhood than I ever imagined. They lets us use the bathroom no hassle and I had to get French fries at least because the place smelled so good.

10/10 recommend! If your vegan or vegetarian this place has the options and the flavors. Drinks were great, we slow slipped because we literally had to savor each sip. My vegan tofu jambalaya was delicious and flavorful. Also is a great place to take flicks; indoor and outdoor decor is stunning.

The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the jambalaya and my friend had the gumbo. Both tasted so good and felt very authentic. The ambiance is beautiful. There was a live band on the second floor which looks down on to the first floor. It definitely gives you the New Orleans vibe.

I was really really looking forward to having brunch at this beautiful location and I did a lovely writeup for you on social media, BUT in all honesty the coffee and food were ice cold and the waitress was very cute but could hardly speak English. She was very difficult to hear or understand when ordering or asking for something. The jazz trio upstairs was great!!

Food here is good. We didn’t have a reservation but the hostess managed to get us seated outside after a 15 min wait which wasn’t bad at all for a Friday evening. The ambiance is nice given the pandemic which necessitated the outdoor dining. As for the dining experience, the charbroiled oysters were delicious and unique in taste. The cajun shrimp were also delicious and had a hint of cumin which made these unique in taste as well. My bouillabaisse was tastier as it cooled or toward the end of the meal and the jambalaya also was a hearty and sizable portion. All meals were overall satisfying. The service is lacking since our waiter or server took our order, the food was served but we never saw her for more than two instances when she actually took the order. I would give 3.5 stars. Though it’s busy, she should check at least once to see that everything was as expected. Well she showed up a third time to issue the bill of course. Maybe she’s new.

Great place for a date night or friends & family special dinners. I have celebrated my birthday and special occasions with friends here. This is my third time at 1803 and this place still is the best. I have tried pretty much everything of their dinner menu and they really serve comforting, flavorful and delicious food.

Was recommended to try this place from a friend and it did not disappoint. I had their catfish sandwich with French fries and those fries are definitely made from scratch. My friend and I shared the brussel sprouts which were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Their cocktails are mouth watering and I quickly downed my gin based drink. We’ll be back for that brunch menu!

I was not a fan. The food taste over cooked. I didn’t get any of the flavors I would in New Orleans. However the drinks were amazing and the mashed sweet potatoes was great. I don’t see myself going back.

Came here for lunch and it was really fun with good food. Especially loved the Signature Gumbo, the charbroiled oysters with cajun butter, and the Brussels Sprouts with chili vinegar, honey glaze, sesame seeds. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Grilled Squash Kale Salad (the kale esp. was too tough). They also make a great Perfect Manhattan but I suggest you not have two on an empty stomach (as I did!!).

amazing Creole experience in the middle of NY, great food, great drinks , amazing friendly staff! We had some astonishing mac and cheese, baby ribs and a perfectly executed medium rare angus steak. All accompanied with a dreamy white sangria ! Strongly reccomend ❤️❤️❤️

Had a great time here on a rainy Thursday night. The vibe is straight out of New Orleans. They had a band playing on the second floor, and we started with a few Hurricanes (rum drink out of Nola)! We had the mac and cheese, salads, and some vegan jambalaya and meatballs, and everything was fantastic. Service was A+.

This place is super pretty and has all the vibes, music was dope, great drinks, and the secret basement area is perf for date night. Area for improvement would be the food. Felt like the jambalaya was dry dry. Gumbo lacked flavor. Mac n cheese could be creamier/cheesier.

  • 5/5 Claire J. 2 years ago on Google
Food is awesome and reasonable price. All staffs are so kind. You can see beautiful outdoor seating. Live music is good but so loud. If your purpose is enjoying music, it is goos choice. But if you want to talk each other, you have to reserve outdoor seating

  • 3/5 Sydney B. 2 years ago on Google
A bit saddened. Gumbo is awful. Not New Orleans flavor-inspired. It tastes more like a tomato stew with shrimp in it. Which you might not pick up on if you’re unfamiliar with gumbo. I don’t taste the soul or anything Cajun. I would return for a drink or light, social appetizer. But the chef should make some friends from the bayou and tweak that recipe a little bit.

I was really excited to try this place out. But I think the space is kind of outdated and it’s so small so it gets really loud and you can hear each others conversations. The food was also pretty bland and not exciting. The overall experience wasn’t amazing but it’s still doable to check out.

Loved this place! The ambiance and live music were lovely touches and the food was on point - great raw oysters and wonderful fried chicken. During our dinner a table on the floor above spilled a drink that proceeded to fall on us in the booth below. Not certain much can be done about this but maybe some gap coverage to prevent leaks in the future? Service was great overall, however, and would definitely come back!

  • 3/5 David T. 2 years ago on Google
The jalapeño appetizer didn’t even have a taste, I’d never get it again. Salad was pretty good, it has sour taste and the goat cheese was a really good addition. The desert was also good, but I’d expect it to be same as on the menu, yet it has less chocolate… I wasn’t a fan of that Overall, the food is mediocre, (at lest what I tasted) service is good and place needs to be cleaner. Hope it improves.

My favorite restaurant in New York. Drinks and food are always spot on. I stick to seafood dishes primarily. The Bouillabaisse and Branzino are both solid dishes. It’s really hard to find an establishment in NYC that has both great food and quality classic cocktails and craft cocktails. Usually you get great food and bad drinks or great drinks ana bad food. But not here! 1803 does not disappoint and they consistently offer phenomenal fare and great service.

Came the first time and liked it but that was a year ago. Wanted to come back and try it again but everything was different. The food, the ambiance, the music and the service. I was very excited about their biscuits which I had before and made me want to come back. However, they decided to put cold toast as replacement instead of letting us know they didn't have biscuits and give another option to choose from... when we asked the waitress about it, she never came back to follow up. Food was overall really just ok and honestly not worth the price even in NYC

Stopped by here for a post-brunch bite and drinks and this place is a gem. Their outdoor set up is beautiful and their indoor decor is unique and special as well. The drinks do not disappoint and the key lime pie and Mac and cheese are superb. I’ll definitely be back for a full meal!

  • 4/5 Jacqueline M. 2 years ago on Google
The fried chicken here had the perfect amount of saltiness and crisp - I honestly didn’t expect it to be that good and that’s exactly why I’m coming back here. We also ordered the red snapper ceviche and charbroiled oysters and they are seasoned to PERFECTION. We ate every last bit. For the drinks we ordered several Jean Lafitte’s which are so sweet and really get them job done. My only recommendation for this place is to not order the Bouillabaisse, it literally tastes like wet dog, hence the 4/5 stars. Everything else on the menu is divine though. Can’t wait go back!

This was my second time here and can totally say it was just as good as the first. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share: Fried Tomatoes, Chips & Artichoke dip and Oysters. The apps came out pretty quickly and were all delicious. The fried tomatoes were really nice and crunchy on the outside and sweet and chewy on the inside. Our food came out just as we were finishing our appetizers, perfectly timed I must say. We ordered, the noodles, lasagna, filet mignon and sea bass. Each one of these dishes were damn near perfect, everyone was super pleased with their food and left not a single piece behind. I had the sea bass and it was cooked just right, laid on top of an amazing pistachio sauce with grilled broccoli on the side. It was just the right amount of food to fill you up but not make you feel overly heavy afterwards. I can't wait to come back again and try yet another amazing dish from this place.

Where to begin. The restaurant is themed after New Orleans and their famous cuisine. I attended dinner on a Saturday evening. Reservations are a must! The live jazz band was a beautiful touch to the food that i ordered. I ate the Cajun grilled oysters and Mac & cheese. To state that the oysters were seasoned to perfection is an understatement. The oysters were ordered twice, one for me and one for the table to avoid sharing. The Mac & Cheese was a blend of cheeses that included gouda and bread crumbs on top. I also indulged on the cheesecake that was underwhelming with a 50/50 ratio of pie to crust. Such thick crust took away from the dessert experience. Cheesecake not pictured.
