Always loved having this place across the street from my house to take a walk anytime especially during the summers. So peaceful and plenty to see.

Wonderfully quiet place for a walk with a nice restored prairie. Pockets of lead plant, rattlesnake master, blazing star, and side oats that are a pleasure to experience throughout the year. Sunsets are a sight. Good parking and pit toilets available near the parking lot.

A nice enough Conservation District site, but for something as rare as a hanging fen, I'd expect a little more information on-site. We had to do some sleuthing to make sure we knew what to look for. If you're not that big of a nature nerd, the site has a short trail and some decent views, but there are better walking sites, especially if you aren't looking for obscure geologic formations.

Nicely done prairie restoration. Would be great if they expanded the trails for dog walkers.

It's a very beautiful and small trail. It's great if you have kids, are just getting started, or want something a little simpler. Everyone on the trail is really nice too

I hope they pave a little more trail. Maybe hook up to bike trail? The fen is beautiful.

April, the water is moving at a good clip, if you can find it. I got lost because I'm an idiot and couldn't figure how to read a map, pay attention, stay on the trails or your feet might get wet.

An incredible beauty hidden in a Lake in The Hills suburb. This area is a host to so much history and diversity and I was so fortunate to be able to live so close to it
