This place needs to be remodeled, or they just need to get a bigger building. There is so much going on in that tiny little space. Everything is dusty and crowded. The restaurant area needs a deep cleaning, especially on top of the glass where they put the styrofoam containers, it is so filthy up there. The servers use the same gloves to clean, scratch, touch all over everything, and serve food. I don't see how they pass health inspections.

Horrible customer service! Waited standing in line for them to take our order and they kept taking other people in front of us. They had no white rice to serve with the order and when asked if they would be making some soon they could not tell us and just took another person again. Basically, we stood there while they kept serving other people and they never answered us or served us…Terrible service! And extremely rude when we asked they treated us like we were putting them out….do not go here. There are other Spanish food restaurants way better and served with kindness.

I wasn't expecting it to be anything special. Boy was I wrong!! The food was absolutely amazing. It was priced decent. I can make 2 more meals from the very large portion I received. If you you love Latin food, this is the place to go. Great job you guys!!

Great food, the cashiers in the supermarket awesome and professional. The servers in line for the hot and cashier..horrible experience. I expected better service today.. but I was let down. If it wasn't for the cashier In the supermarket with her nice warm smile and voice I would have never to come back...as a Latina we can do better. So I give a star for the food and one for the cashier.

Very packed,no one asked if I needed help. And when I asked a person for help,they knew very little English. Or so they claimed. In the restaurant the cashier was nice but. Everyone else in this place just walked around, you said nothing. No greeting, not even a hello. Smile nothing. I won't be back. 1st time and last. I enjoy Fresh Market much better

Great food, amazing service! I go here for my meats but yesterday after Ian left just about everyone without power they were the only place open and they did no disappoint! It was a madhouse in there but they were all so patient and polite. The sandwiches were one of the best I’ve had. Definitely a taste of home that I’ve been missing since moving here. Will be frequenting this spot more often.

Well, this was a bust! Yes, you can get latino brand food, and yes, they do have a 5 meat choice meat for $20. But that's it. For starters, you can't navigate the aisles without bumping into someone. They are as narrow as they get. The meat choices for the 5 for $20 are sub-par at best. But the most dissapointing fact is that their prices are sky high. For comparison, a Goya can of pink beans, which would cost $1.50 at Walmart will cost over $2.00 at this place. And it's not only the beans. I ran comparisons on every single article I was looking for and every single one of them was more expensive than in any other supermarket out there. Half of what I was looking for I didn't get because I didn't want to continue overpaying for food. So, lesson of the day: If you're shopping for food at competitive prices, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Prices are moderate, but you will find a lot of goods latinos products. That are worth to pay. They have good price in the vegetable section and they are fresh. I can’t say the same with the meats.

Great place to shop and get good tasting spanish food. Hot food is excellent and budget friendly.

Their hot and cold dishes are DELICIOUS, they do catering too! ( comes out tasting awesome) they sell a lot of good products highly recommend!

Terrible customer service since u walk thru the door cashier stares like she hates the store that she's working at and her customers: (obtain more help, smiles and good maners from their customers than the staff it self. Many of their prices are not correctly tagged and the hrs of operations are not 100% accurate and some ppl don't have time to waste on those details. Shopping from now on straight At Fancy's Fruit and Produce which is at same hwy 98 going north not far away or in another Latin Supermarket that knows better how to run a business.

They had a great deal of food items and fresh and frozen meats and fruit and veggies. The employees were very helpful in helping me find select items my parents loved it found a lot of Caribbean products and produce. We also were given a free loaf of bread that was delicious.

I used to love coming here to get chicharrones and tostones. But they changed the cook in the bakery, and we’ll it was stale and tasted weird. 3 stars only because the side they serve food is still flawless and amazing!!!!

I was disappointed with today's visit. French toast was cold, and home fries were overcooked. After the server dropped off my check, she never returned to my table. I had to go the cashier to get a to go box and return to my table to get my leftovers.

Was surprise with the low prices in the meat department...came in to window shop and came out with $70.00 in meats..

Pros: here you can find most of anything you have in Puerto Rico and the 5 for 19.99 on the meat section is absolutely great. Everything is neatly stocked and well grouped. Good and fresh vegetable selection. FOUND LONGANIZA! Con: other than the meat, everything else is super expensive. I understand bringing from overseas is expensive, but I have found many of those brands and items for less in other markets

Very rude cashier that didn't even speak English. She was arguing with me on Spanish over a price of an item that was clearly marked down. So i insisted on the sale price. She told me no thats not the price ! I had to go to managmt to get the sale price. Plz train your staff great customer servjce for a pleasant shopping experience and not to argue with the customer. I went in there to originally use the restroom. And then we walked around to see what was in there. We noticed a lot of meat but they said you can get five meats for 20 bucks. The only thing is you have to pick five meats in order to have one meal because very small portions that is package. The one good thing is I found my lemongrass tea. And it's from Jamaica. It's a Spanish that caters to mostly I believe Puerto Rican and Cuban tiny bit Mexican. There's a little bit of things that you need basic stuff like eggs milk oil basic household items. I don't see myself shopping there very often but I will definitely go back to get the lemongrass tea. Nice and friendly cash shears she realized we didn't speak Spanish and spoke to us in English so I was very pleased with that.

I have been to Universal Supermarket quite a lot, with no complaints. However, I was told that they sold salted pigtails; something we use in a special coconut rice and beans dish. I couldn't find it in the store so asked for help. Much to my dismay, I was shown two white buckets where they had the pigtails and some other fish. This was placed out in an aisle with a loose cover. The pig tails were immersed in some brine blackish water... hard to determine what else could be in that container! Yes, in a location where everyone or anything can go into the containers. It looked quite disgusting and repulsive. I wonder what lurks in that brine, and how does this grocery store pass inspection with such unsanitary conditions? Other places have them either packaged or you ask the butcher. This experience stopped me and my family from going to that supermarket ever again.

Store is getting better and better… New bakery, Mexican bread, donuts and more. New restaurant with good Latin food and juices.

I loved the store,I couldn't believe there meat prices,they had pretty meats,and I will go back, friendly staff too!

Most of what I need is here. They have a new bakery section and a new food buffet with seating. Their food has always been good.

The supermarkets aisle are nice and big, well managed, food items are in place and neat, the bakery offers a great Spanish selection of home goodies and the Rican Dominican restaurant has great food.

The market seems to have everything!! They opened a restaurant in the market. My parents visited me and I bought them here to eat a pork sandwhich... OMG!!! That guy Luis makes the best sandwiches, AMAZING!!!! I definitely recommend both the market and the restaurant... If you want a break Puerto Rican pork sandwhich? This is the place to go!!!!

The food did not taste very good and for the price their charging, the quantity of food they give you is very minimal. I rather drive to Winter Haven Santiago's market and get the Spanish food from there much better tasting and the quantity they give you for the price they charge it's worth the trip. I would not recommend food universe market as for their hot food.
