Excellent place to visit in Halifax! We went on a Sunday afternoon and the atmosphere was very cool, live music, delicious food and very good customer service. We ordered a fish appetizer, a seafood pasta and a fish and chips, everything was delicious. The prices are pretty good for the area and they have different beers and local ciders to try.

Stopped here for beer and nachos (Irish nachos, potato based rather than tortilla) on a weekday afternoon. Service and food were just ok. I think it would be better to come at night when there's live music playing since it seems that they have nightly entertainment.

Everything was a little bit pricey, the portions were small. We got the Caesar salad and ground beef sandwich. I was not impressed with my food (small portion of Caesar salad with small chicken were $24 I total), but seems like my partner really enjoyed his food. The temperature of the beer was a little bit too warm. Pop costs too much ($3.50 each / no free refills) However, I do like their service! People who worked there were super nice. I also love the atmosphere so much! Great location too. I totally understand that this is not a cheap bar but was expected to get a good food & beer tho. It’s very average but I’ll def pay for their good service.

We’ve been in Halifax for a week and keep coming back to this spot. The live music at night is always fun and the food too! It’s got a large patio outdoors and the service is always great. We’ve had the mussels, liver and onions and the ploughman’s platter. All delicious! Great local beer available as well.

The Old Triangle offers many types of beer and a great ambience. Had fish & chips. Chips were good. The fish less so. Too cold at first. But it was quickly heated again. The Propeller Pilsner was tasty.

If you're looking for Fish'N'Chips in Halifax, you'll find the classic at Irish Alehouse. In a rustic atmosphere, air-conditioned, with live music, our evening was a complete success. Plenty of portions, nice and greasy and simply good.

Great Ambience with live music performances(Plenty of seating space) and reliable, friendly service. The vegetarian burger was unfortunately not as good as my friend had hoped. Although I can definitely recommend their Footballs Club Sandwich. Dipping it in the hot sauce definitely made it not-so-crispy(to be expected) but the taste was fantastic. The cocktail was great, albeit very slightly on the expensive side. Can recommend if you’re looking for a nice-relaxing time with good food.

Service was good, waitress kept checking on us if we needed anything. Little bit of wait time since it was crowded on Friday night. Wings are a must try(5*). We ordered chicken n beef burgers, they were large and fulfilling in portion size, taste wasn’t so out of the world. I didn’t like the roasted potato sides personally. Overall, a bit expensive compared to few other places but the vibe is good.

Stopped in here for a bite to eat. Had the eggs Benedict which was delicious. I also loved that they brought me coffee in a French Press. The waitress was lovely 😍

We got to Halifax late and happened to stumble upon this place. We are so happy that we did. It truly feels like an Irish pub and we had the pleasure of a live fiddle player who was amazing to hear. The service was quick and friendly. Their food was rightfully so the highlight. Their fish and chips were so tasty and the fish was cooked to perfection with light battering. Their fried chicken sandwich was just as phenomenal. I will say I regret subbing the fries for Ceasar salad because it was drowned in sauce. Other than the salad though, I have no complaints. We had their gingerbread cake and my partner barley wanted to share with me, it was fantastic. I highly recommend having a meal here and enjoying the environment.

Had a few drinks and a plate of sweet fries to finish off our night out. The pub was kept quite clean. Our server Spence was funny, witty, friendly and quick given how busy it was. The food was hot, and the drinks were okay. The band, or artists, "Tristan Legg" were definitely the low light of the night. They singled out our table unceremoniously in an attempt to be humorous however it fell flat. Wouldn't come see them again, definitely ruined my night, and my friends night. However, beyond the live music, our night was great, and I will for sure be returning to the Old Triangle for a pint in the future.

Food was amazing, pizza 🍕 was average but overall it was nostalgic experience at Old Triangle. The location, architecture and interior is also good. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Every time we go, the food is fantastic, the staff are all incredibly friendly and the drinks are cold. Music is amazing and all around just a great place to go whether it's a dinner date, birthday, anniversary or just getting together with friends. Truly a staple in our city

An impressive list of whiskeys and scotch available on a well presented book with reasonable prices, unfortunately flights are not updated and you’d have to rely on the QR code menu. Stopped in on a Sunday evening: Live music is a great touch. Decor needs updating and appears to be a mash up of different furnishings old and new.

It was the happening spot on a wet, foggy Saturday evening. Rugby was on, so it was a lively gathering 😀. Had spaghettini and it was goood 👍🏾. Just the right amount. Then had the Guiness Ginger cake with whiskey caramel sauce and served with 3 dollops of cream topped with blueberry jam. I never eat dessert but had to try this one and it didn't disappoint. Great pub and food. My partner had the Pan fried haddock with mash potatoes and the same decadent desserts.

We were in Halifax for the day on a cruise and popped in here for some Poutine and a local beer which were both excellent. Service was excellent as well as the staff attended to what looked like a busy lunch service with the cruise ships in ports. Will return here if ever in Halifax again.

Exactly what you’d expect from an Irish pub!Fun atmosphere, friendly service, booze and hearty food. We had a group of 4 (with a baby) and everyone had a good time. ☺️ They didn’t really advertise a lot of beers so can’t comment on the selection. But the propeller galaxy IPA was pretty good! In terms of food, I was quite happy with my fish and chips. Not the biggest portions, but tasty. Great chips and slaw too. Lastly, I think the “snugs” (ie private rooms) are really cool and would be fun for a night out with small group. Maybe next time!

Made reservations for 6 people - table was set up & ready when we got there. One downside was, I booked here because we checked the menu online & my sister wanted the seafood linguine that was advertised for $20. She was very disappointed when it was No longer on the menu! She settled for steak. Others ordered pan-fried haddock, fish & chips, chowder but I think I ordered the best meal of all! I had the lobster & shrimp crepes … Mmmm .. Delicious!!! Waitress was very friendly. There was entertainment but it started at 8pm & we left before that. Another downside, we brought in a birthday cake for someone in our party (purchased at Sobeys). We asked for a knife to cut it & were told because of Heath relations the waitress wasn’t sure if we could serve it to ourselves. She checked & a guy came out & said something similar about not being able to because of health inspector. Then as long as we could prove it was bought somewhere - then all of a sudden it would be ok for us to enjoy it but there would be a $2 / person plate charge. I guess the health inspector would be ok with us eating our cake as long as it was on the restaurants plate! We took our cake back to our hotel & enjoyed it there instead.

I can’t stop thinking about the Caesar salad from here. It’s pricey ($18 I believe with no chicken) but the croutons alone make it worthwhile. And the chefs mix in the perfect amount of dressing. Honestly the best Caesar salad I’ve had in Halifax so far, and that’s saying a lot! The atmosphere and service are both good too. Hard to have a conversation without yelling though; it can get quite loud in the evening

Friendly staff, amazing food, great atmosphere and awesome live music! Couldn't have asked for a better place to go during our stay. We met some amazing people here and shared great laughs. We had the fish and chips (best I've ever had,) the Ulster fry (my husband was thrilled to have a true taste of home with the black and white pudding,) lobster roll (twice,) and the seafood crepe was to die for. We also tried the Newfie fries, did not know that was a thing but man are we happy to know now. Aidan and Justin were great as was all the staff we met. Thank you for everything (and sorry we ordered so many Baby Guiness.)

Very cool atmosphere, feels like you're in an Irish pub. They even have little side rooms for your group to squish into for a cozy experience. For us, the food and service were average but would give the place a second chance. There were a couple of mice running around, so that detracted from the experience for a couple friends. 😉

Great bar that reminds me of a local pub back in Montreal! It's a little loud but then again it's a pub with music and people are having fun. The food is decent although my burger was a little dry and the Dublin pasties as well was dry. Drinks had been good so nothing to complain about that. The live singer was nice to hear ! The portions are just enough for me and my partner enjoyed her meal as well! Prices are dencent !

So good we came back twice! The food and service were absolutely incredible. We had the fish cakes, pastie and the pan fried haddock and everything was absolutely phenomenal. The mashed potatoes are cooked perfectly. A good selection of beers available. Our server Emily was an absolute gem and was super fun to chat with. We came back and tried the Guinness cake which was insanely good. Portion sizes are massive for everything. Definitely worth the stop!

A group of six of us went on a Friday evening and luckily they were able to accommodate us upstairs. There was a live band playing downstairs which was a bit loud to eat by, so it was nice to be upstairs and be able to still hear one another. Standard pub fares and bit pricey for what was on the menu. Good place to grab a drink and pre-pandemic, they had the $10 lunches.

Went here for a supper with friends. the atmosphere was nice and laid back. The service was good also. Ordered the Brok and Roll for a drink (gin cocktail) and it was great. Had a hint of melon and pineapple. Not too sweet either. From our meal we all ordered the burger week burger, Old T Deli burger. The flavour of the burger I didn’t mind, what my minor issue with it was the advertised picture on the burger week site was not close to what was served. It was a bit of a bummer because the product didn’t meet the expectation. That was the only reason for not eating this location as 5 stars because other than my personal issue, it was a great location and would recommend!

We were sat in the patio and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I had the fish and chips, and it was one of the best in my life! The food was juat incredible! Service was very good too, the only reason I took one star off is because the food took a bit too long to be prepared. However, it was all worth it because it was delicious!!

OMG -- everything was SO delicious! I had the shrimp & lobster crepes, my husband had Irish Stew, and our friends had steak and haddock, and we all were raving about how delicious it was. (My only suggestion would be that the shrimp in the sauce should have had the tails removed.) We are only sorry that we were here too early for the music.

Good drinks and food! Our lunch was delicious. My burger and fries were awesome. My husband got the lamb shank. It was good and fell off the bone nice. Although it was quite salty, we still enjoyed it.

A pitcher of good Irish ale and some savoury pastry and stew? Sounds great, and it mostly was - I tend to like a bit more seasoning, so I felt a little let down on the flavours, but the textures were great. But the Guinness gingerbread cake was unbelievable and probably justifies a trip on its own. The chewiness and sweetness with the whipped cream and haskap topping is to die for - don’t leave without trying it!
