Stayed 2 nights to see Halifax after dropping off 1st year university student. I’m a Marriott gold elite member which provided zero extra benefit. Booked using points and was informed they were happy to be able to keep me in the same room for 2 nights. (That was an expectation !). View out window was of ventilation system. Construction happening on street out building. “Room service” was a burger and soggy fries delivered in a paper bag with plastic cutlery and a can of beer for $40. I put the garbage outside my room when done dinner so it wouldn’t smell up the room and it was still there in the morning. TV remote needed new batteries which I requested in the morning but when I came back in the evening they hadn’t been changed. TV info doesn’t match that of the channels. Even though the hotel is on the water, the patio is in shade in the evening so even on a nice day it’s not warm. The hotel is right on the waterfront boardwalk which is nice (which takes 20min to walk from end to end) but I’d recommend staying a block away from the water (eg, courtyard Marriott or Sheraton four points), save some money, and then walk an extra 1/2 block to the many great restaurants along the boardwalk to get the Harbor views and great food on a real plate which is what I ended up doing in the end. I wouldn’t stay here again for business or for personal travel.

Honestly, it's a great hotel! All the staff have been super friendly and it is located directly on the Harbour, it's very convenient for walks to fantastic restaurants, snack shops and beautiful views. Expensive pricing is its only downfall.

The hotel’s location is perfect. The room is clean and nice. Front desk staffs are so friendly and helpful. There were few issues with our flight so we ended up modifying our reservation few times but the staffs were always patient with us. They solved the problem and responded to all of our requests promptly. Well deserved 5 stars. Will come back again!!!

Were do I start. It's on the cheaper side of Toronto hotels for a reason and sadly that brings in a different crowd. Young adults looking for a bargain and wanting to party. Location is great for walking to the game...but if your looking for a relaxing hotel getaway, or you're a family with young kids, you'll be up all night listening to hallway parties and the streetcar passing by. ALL NIGHT. I was hoping the bed and pillows would be comfy at least, but it wasn't. Nothing could make up for two sleepless nights...not even the lake view with the dirty windows.

Location, location, location. That's what this hotel has to offer. Right on the boardwalk, lots of fun and dining options just outside the door, etc. The rooms are typical Marriott rooms, nothing extraordinary - and I was surprised to find out that they don't have in-room coffee makers. I typically only use the in-room coffee maker in a pinch, but just something to consider - you'll be spending more $ downstairs at the upscale coffee shop if you want coffee while getting ready for the day.

The concierge lounge is noteworthy. There's also a walkway to the casino. Staff is amazing. The King room is top-notch. If I need a luxury hotel in Halifax while playing at the casino, I'll be coming here first.

We stayed at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront on a recent trip to Halifax, and we had a great stay. Our room was very nice, the staff members were friendly and the restaurant was amazing. Lovely location. Would definitely visit again.

The location is fantastic, middle of everything. We were a short walk from most restaurants we wanted to try and to the main entertainment in the city. Thought the hotel was underwhelming for a 4-star hotel. Was told that I had a view and a larger suite being the corner unit during check in. However, when I went to the room, I found out that my view was of the next door building windows and the extra space was an extra hallway that didn’t add to my experience. Sleeping area was clean and beds were comfortable but the washroom felt outdated. We had black water coming from the tub that did not resolve after running for a while as told (due to local flood from the morning rain). There was nothing that could be done about it.

Most amenities are included, as you would expect from the top-flight Marriott brand and waterfront location. Abuts the harbor walk pedestrian mall. Pool, hot tub, gym are welcome additions. Rooms are modern, squeeky clean and spacious. Recommended.

We are here for a bus tour. The rooms are standard rooms, nothing outstanding. It's a long way from the airport with no shuttle service. It is close to several restaurants and shopping. The view is beautiful if you have a room that overlooks the harbor. We do not.

We were here for 3 nights. The hotel is beautiful and extensive. The rooms are clean with good amenities. The Casino is attached and a full gym is provided. We had an issue with the shower door, and they immediately got it serviced and offered us a room switch as well. This hotel is located walking distance to a lot of attractions. However, if you want good food, be sure to have a car or take Uber, the food nearby are either expensive or average. If I were to visit again, I'd stay here.

Such a beautiful location with very eye catching scenery. Awesome location. We’ve stayed here on many occasions and will continue to return here. Staff are great and the food is very appetizing. Modern stylish rooms to boot. Two thumbs up.

Wonderful location, adjacent to the boardwalk, close to many restaurants and shops. Also, located close to the ferry terminal providing a quick ride to Dartmouth. Our room was large, but had a limited view of the harbor. The service was very good, especially in the concierge lounge.

I don't write reviews often, but the service at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel was outstanding so I wanted to make sure I wrote a review. We arrived early, and the front desk graciously allowed us to check-in early. I realize that if a room wasn't available, we might not have been able to do so, but the attitude of the person checking us in was very gracious and welcoming. He recommended the seafood chowder in the restaurant which was delicious and also a local restaurant, The Bicycle Thief, which was equally good! At check-out we were again treated in a very gracious and friendly manner which is not always the case at all hotels/B&B's. The rooms were very nice, but because of the friendliness of the front desk, we will definitely consider staying again the next time we were in Halifax.

I Booked a King Suite over Labor Day weekend. Check in and out was painless. The room was clean with no issues at all. The bed was super comfy. I had breakfast in the restaurant which was amazing. The pool was clean and well equipped with plenty of towels. The hot tub was relaxing and the gym had more than enough equipment. Overall it was a great weekend.

My hubby and I have been coming here once a year or more if we celebrate something special or just want a nice getaway. But this seems to be our spot! Staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to everything downtown and is attached to the walking path, so if the weather's crumby, you're covered to get to the shops around the city! Pro tip: order all of the Espresso Martinis and (not photographed here) they make a damn good Aperol Spritz, highly recommend 👌

Stayed there for 4 nights for a bunch of meetings. Great service... staff was super nice and helpful. Judith was so fun to talk to! Rooms were clean. Had a room that overlooked the harbourfront. Food was good.

We booked a room with a king bed months in advance. When we arrived we were told there were no king bed rooms available and we were given 2 double beds. We were with a large group for a wedding and our friends told us they did not book king rooms but got to the hotel before us and asked for an upgrade and got it!! We were at the hotel for 2 nights and we did not receive any maid service! Neither day was the room cleaned or made up. It's definitely the worst service at any hotel we've stayed at. And we travel a lot.

Spacious room with excellent bed, quiet, good temperature control. Room lacked a safe, a major inconvenience. Did not get clean towels and there were food crumbs on the floor. Shower gel had disagreeable scent. Breakfast buffet was limited, not up to expectations from a Marriott. Location is excellent, on waterfront, convenient and walkable to most attractions. Overpriced, would not stay again.

Stayed here for three days. Expected it to be up to Marriott standards. Not even close. Decor was old and tired. Rooms were unremarkable. Service was horrible. Left $5 each morning for staff . They litterally took the money without even making the bed the second day! Pool was a little grimy. Hot tub was scalding hot...much too hot. Had employees hanging out front door who only pressed the 'open' button...and nothing else. No good morning...no service. I had higher expectations from thus well known brand.

We had a fantastic say! Service was top notch and the Concierge level is so worth it. The lounge serves off a menu. Great food and perks!

the restaurant is phenomenal. Sometimes we eat here and we aren't even staying at the hotel. The restaurant has every seating possibility u could need. Watching sports, dining alone at bar, privacy for a date, business meeting, or group of friends. the hotel rooms that attach to the pool are great for kids. hot tub is hot and clean. close to a great walk on boardwalk with lots to do

Oh wow if you're coming to Halifax what a great location. The staff is brilliant our room is clean and well maintained. That said, the style is showing its age but we love it. For the size of the room, time of year and location that the price was reasonable. The price for parking per day I thought could have been included.

  • 1/5 Dawn G. 5 months ago on Google
Unfortunately I didn't cancel my room for tomorrow with in the cancellation date. I expected to be charged a cancellation fee but unfortunately they charge you the full amount for the room. I understand I agree to it but its a tough pill to swallow. A cancellation fee would have been a nice compromise.

This was our first time in Halifax and this hotel was better than most hotels we’ve stayed at. The people working there are incredibly friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is beautiful with delicious food and fun cocktails. I would highly recommend the smoky old fashion. The pool and hot tub is easy to find and very relaxing after a long day of walking on the harbour. Lastly the location is perfect. It’s very close to the harbour and all the attractions happening in the city. Lots of shops and restaurants to explore. It’s a perfect spot to get a little bit of everything, and a perfect spot to come back and rest after a long day of exploration.

I booked a one night stay for 2 rooms for the first time with Marriott hotels and upon arriving and checking in with 4 younger children, we were informed of a parking fee. We paid the fee and had to park alongside the hotel, in their designated parking, instead of the underground parkade, because our vehicle was classified as “oversized”. (It’s a lifted truck) the hotel has a sign right beside where we parked stating it was covered by video surveillance. After we paid, we were handed a piece of paper and we were told just simply place that in your window to confirm you’ve paid for parking and you will not get towed. We placed the paper in our window and went in the hotel for the night. In the morning, we had discovered our truck was vandalized and completely destroyed. I immediately asked for video surveillance footage and we were told there are no cameras where we parked!! Police were contacted and while I was on the phone with the officer, he said, “I know exactly where you’re parked, this happens on a regular basis there!” After expressing my concerns, I was told basically, too bad, on the piece of paper we were given to place in our window it states the hotel is not held liable for lost, stolen or damaged items. I would understand if it was made clear the paid parking is at your own risk, or if there weren’t signs stating video surveillance covering the area we paid to park. I’ll never go back due to the lack of security a hotel is supposed to provide, especially when it’s paid for!

The room was lovely, the view was fantastic. The noise from the ventilation and heating system was louder than car fans going max and did not turn off the entirety of the stay. Staff at front desk expressed zero empathy.

This is a really great location if you want to be on the water, it’s right on the gorgeous Halifax seawall walk near so many restaurants, attractions and right next to the Ferry port to Dartmouth. I stayed here for a conference (7 days) and while the rooms were upgraded ands quite contemporary, the conference floor is quite old school. We were quite disappointed in the food but the actual restaurant in the hotel was really good (great fish and chips!!) My room had a wonderful Koehler rain shower with a big shower wand and it was a daily joy, stand up, big and bright. The room was good, lots of plugs and the free water was much appreciated. The main reason I bumped them to four stars was that the staff so consistently went OVER and above for our conference and when I needed help, it was memorable. I was kind of annoyed the artisan coffee place in the lobby feels like is NEVER open (it’s only open in the mornings) but everyone was raving over the quality and upon trying it, I do agree. They also sell specialty soda. The hotel tuck shop does not have gouging prices, which was nice too. But not a lot of selection. Very nice lobby and highly functional business centre (see my pictures) in the lobby instead of tucked away under the stairs somewhere Nice place, great views, awesome staff.

I have stayed here several times in the past few years including my latest stay last week. Halifax Marriott Waterfront is definitely one of my preferred places to stay in the Halifax area. It is an older hotel, but well maintained and in better condition than most Marriott hotels. Rooms are renovated and furnishings are in good condition. The service is reliable and the restaurant food is consistently good quality. One improvement I would love to see is the addition of level 2 EV chargers in the parking garage to support overnight charging for guests. Thanks for another enjoyable stay.

This was our first east coast trip. Location is fantastic, right at the beginning of the harbourfront strip with many shops and restaurants just steps away. We had a car rental but many of the sites are relatively close so you can get away without a car. Lots of things for both adults and children. I'm from Toronto and I honestly felt that this waterfront was a lot better than the one we have. About the hotel. The staff were exceptional, pool and hot tub were great, breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was very good for the price. Although it seems a little bit more geared towards business travelers, my wife and 7-year old had a fantastic stay.

Great experience at the Marriott Harbourfront. The app made check in so easy and we were able to check in at noon instead of 4 which made our day so much easier. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable! Staff were all very helpful. Loved having the option of being able to text with the front desk and gave a mobile key too!

Great location. Access to extensive and very interesting waterfront trail with commensurate points of interest both historical and current, easy access to ferry service to Dartmouth. Hotel amenities well within very satisfactory standards of acceptability. Inexpensive local public transportation to airport within a five minute walk of the hotel.

I’m in between a 3 or 4 star review for this hotel. It is conveniently located on the harbor with breathtaking views of the town. A close walk to many restaurants and boutique stores. The lobby area is well kept and the restaurant is a great place to grab a bite. The workers are all extremely friendly from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Some things I had problems with is my room had a musty smell. The other thing is the location of the hotel isn’t in the safest area with a lot of homeless people just blocks up at the ferry station. One even got inside the building and was being escorted out of the elevator. Which is quite disturbing if you’re staying alone at the hotel. And apparently this man sneaks in often which is not okay. Also the doors in the back and the second floor are kept unlocked until about 11pm so anyone can get in. Marriott needs to consider changing those doors to key access only and keeping only the main for everybody to enter so they can see who is coming in and out of the building.

True story: the screw fell out of my reading glasses in the hotel. The front desk staff were so helpful in providing a range of screwdrivers, then one of the staff Keisha was awesome, she came over and fixed the glasses for us! Can you believe that! Great staff, great hotel

On. September 03,2022 I was visiting the Halifax waterfront. During my visit my sister had a low blood sugar diabetic emergency where she needed sugar immediately. I rushed into the hotel, after failed attempts with local vendors, to the reception desk and asked the lovely lady working around 730 pm and asked for help. She immediately, without any hesitation took me to where they had candy and offered me anything I needed. Sadly, I didn’t catch her name. I would like the hotel to read this and recognize this employee for her quick action which may have saved a life. Honestly, I wasn’t even a guest at this hotel but if I was I would give it 100 stars. There are hero’s among us, thank you.

I rent two room, but one of my room they did not clean despite requested couple of times, I spoke to the manager in charge Jon before I checked out, and he response quickly he give me $200 refund for the inconvenience. Also they put a bottle of lotion in odd time at night, which I am not sure why?. Over all hotel is good ambience and staff are friendly. I am definitely coming back to this hotel.

Greatest location on the waterfront. Very expensive as expected. Not happy as a guest to pay 26 dollars a day to park. Immaculately appointed. Did not eat here but menu looked top notch. A great walking city! Will return again

A clean, modern and accessible hotel in the best location on the waterfront. All of our needs were met and the hotel restaurant had the BEST meal of our entire trip in Halifax.

  • 4/5 Travis N. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were great. Very clean and felt a little luxurious. The plane company paid for the room as it had service issues causing us to throw off our itinerary. About 30 mins ride from the airport. Staff was very friendly! The food at breakfast was good! And the local coffee roaster was delicious.

We are Marriott Elite members so we primarily stay at Marriott hotels. This hotel overall met the standard but our rooms were way below par including the weird blood stain on one of the pillows. Second, the pool was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure if the filter exploded or what but there were hair balls floating everywhere and black gunk. I even got up and got the strainer to clean it myself and the staff came in and just watched me do it. Do better Marriott.

I recently hosted an event with the Halifax Marriott and was impressed with all the staff and managers who made our experience terrific. I highly recommend the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel if you are looking for a place to host your events or just looking for a place to stay a few nights. Everyone was very friendly and worked well with us, especially considering how big of an event we were having (550+). Malcon Fitzgerald and Candice Perry were the most efficient people to work with. They both went above and beyond and were a dream to work with. I could not recommend them, their services, and this location more.

I am very happy with the gym here. You can see the outside, its spacious, it has lots of equipment. This is the best hotel gym I have seen from Vancouver to Toronto at any price range. Happy with my choice.

Nice breakfast and evening dishes at Club Lounge. Room is clean and comfy. Halifax Waterfront boardwalk is just outside of the hotel. Location is very good. I enjoyed the stays at Halifax Marriott.
