Went for the newly opened thermal spa. Great experience in nice facilities. My only minor negative was that they can be hard to get on the phone. We had to make a change to our reservation the day before and it took several calls and in the end we just needed to get the resort staff to have the spa call us back. Still a great experience on-site. Local beer and wine, and wonderful staff. Do look forward to going again in the fall and winter.

This property is beautiful and the customer service was 10/10. The spa section is small and maybe lacking a bit of extras. I really enjoyed the self serve tea station outside and the cold walk river. The hot tubs and saunas were beautiful and good temperatures. The saunas could have used some essential oils; there was a bit of a stink. Some background music and something else for the senses would have been nice. Changing room was small and the frosted shower doors were not private enough (could see a lot of body silhouette). I believe they are still adding and expanding, I would definitely visit again.

We ended up staying here unexpectedly and the staff were so helpful, understanding and accommodating in helping us find a room for the night. The room we stayed in was perfect! Included breakfast was A+! Everything was clean and modern, the grounds looked really nice and well maintained. I hope to stay here again next time I’m in the region!

The spa was excellent! Lovely staff and a beautiful spot! We stayed right on the water which was awesome! For what we were paying the cleanliness of the room was not up to par... the bathroom stunk and had mold in the shower.. stained sheets on the bed.. the breakfast was very lackluster as well

It's such a beautiful place. The shoreline is accessible and very nice, and the sound of the waves add to the serene vibe. The spa in the center creates a perfect atmosphere to unwind and they sell yummy nutritional drinks.

This place could be great if they upped the service level. During our stay we didn’t get housekeeping (we were meant to do this was an error), and a staff member idled their car for 15 mins right outside our window one evening so we got to listen to that instead of the ocean waves (the sound of the waves was lovely most of the time!). Our room was right in the middle of the resort with people walking by and talking - I assume they could also hear us, which meant we didn’t feel we had privacy. Obviously this wouldn’t be an issue in one of the cottages. The water pressure was awful and at one time disappeared almost entirely leaving a scalding trickle - apparently this is because the spa would be using the cold water (!) at that time. On our second night we were kept up by the chirping of the smoke alarm. These things happen of course, but overall it was another thing that meant our stay was not as comfortable as it could have been. Rhubarb restaurant was also closed both nights. That’s not the resorts fault of course but was a shame. We enjoyed the spa thermal pools experience a lot. Fab location - but likely won’t return.

My wife surprised me for my Birthday with an afternoon of a massage and use of the Artic spa. The massage was excellent. The hot and cold pools and the steam huts were invigorating. The facility was spootless and well appointed. I was impressed with the level of attention given by the employees. Very attentive and extremely friendly. They also had limited beverages and appetizer available. Over all a 5/5. You won't be disappointed. And to boot not far from Halifax in beautiful St Margaret's Bay. Cheers.

I like that they have amenities like a nice restaurant and lodges... but how are they charging 75$ for 3 hour hydrothermal experience that has limited things to do (and adding a walk on the beach, come on)? My recommendation if you want a real experience of hydrothermal spas that originated from Norway is to go to Sensea Nordic Spa, better bang for your buck

My husband and I just got married at Oceanstone this past week and it exceeded our expectations. Mackeighla and the whole team were amazing. Mackeighla went out of her way to make sure the day of the wedding went smoothly. It was like having your best friend or a family member taking care of everything on the morning of. She was attentive, positive and one step ahead always. We had complete trust in her and knew she was going to make our day beautiful (which she absolutely did!). We couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque location for our wedding. All of our guests couldn’t stop raving about Oceanstone or how incredible the venue and the waterfront cottages were. My husband and I stayed the night after the wedding as well and it was such a peaceful and beautiful way to spend our first night as husband and wife. We will absolutely be celebrating our anniversary at Oceanstone for many, many years to come! The morning after the wedding our family went to the spa and was completely pampered. The spa team was absolutely phenomenal, and again went above and beyond to make our day extra special. Turns out the cure to a wedding hangover is to spend the morning at the spa! It was extremely relaxing and rejuvenating. Thank you so much Mackeighla, Natalie and the whole Oceanstone team for all of your help. You were incredible!

Staff was friendly. Had a hard time finding the office, more signage would have been helpful. Hot pool was nice, the saunas were hot. The cold plunge was nice. There are multiple fire pits to relax around, but they are very close together. We only did the hot and cold aspect of the spa, would love to try the accommodations.

The service was great, staff was amazing however one of the hot tubs was more of a cool bath tub temperature and the cold pool was very small. The food and drinks were way too overpriced for what you get. Very small portions and mediocre food. The change rooms were also too small with only 2 toilets/private changing areas. I will not return.

This hotel (in my opinion) has potential but needs a few things addressed. Rooms are not as clean as they should be. We found/saw over 20 spiders hanging all over the place, lots of webs and dust throughout the room. Cleaner was in 30min before us and would have seen this. We didn't get to use the spa but it looked very nice. We wanted to try the restaurant on site but was closed due to staff shortage. Beautiful surroundings

The hydrothermal spa is awesome, and the restaurant is great! We stayed in the Ocean Vista suite. I would not pay the high price to stay here again. We did not sleep well due to the machines stored below the suite. They were constantly turning on and off, keeping us awake throughout the night. The cleanliness of the room can also be improved. The suite smelled of mould, and there were spiders all around the ceilings. We also found balls of hair around the floors of the suite. We opted to shower at the spa rather than the room as the shower was not clean. For the price, the rooms need some work.

An intimate experience that suits small groups of friends or a couples retreat. Staff were professional and welcoming. The grounds and location are beautiful. Everything you need (robes, towels, sandals, lotions, shampoo etc) are provided or sold there (warm socks, toques, bathing suit). I enjoyed the complimentary peppermint tea from the hydration station. After three hours of hot/cold repeats, I felt amazing and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Rhubarb restaurant. Weather was about 6 degrees, sunny and no wind. It was a perfect spa experience and so close to Halifax. We will be back and will add on spa services! Thank you!

I'm giving this resort and spa 5 stars. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with kindness and understanding. Every single woman was kind to me throughout my one night staycation birthday wellness retreat made me feel like I was in the exact place I was meant to be. I started my stay visibly upset over narrowly escaping a collision on the highway with a large truck and was super stressed about possibly being late bc I had also taken a wrong turn. They comforted me and assured me I was ok now and safe, and showed me to an amazing meditation space to just sit and reset for 5 mins until my massage practitioner came to get me. I came for the 90 minute Voyager Journey massage and I must say it was elegant, luxurious and an over the top level treatment and I even came away with my own dry body brush! Jaimie was wonderful, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect person to care for me that day. She was exactly what my soul needed and I am thankful for her. I then proceeded to the hydrothermal spa area and thoroughly enjoyed the circuit. From the hot pools to the cold plunge to the sauna and salt hammam, it was easy to sink in to the experience. I quietly swung in the egg chair while some snowflakes landed and melted on my skin. I loved the instrumental background music, and especially the smell of a wood fire burning! They even offer cocktaiks and food if you would like. The one suggestion I would make is to have a towel/robe drop inside the changerooms as you end up feeling a bit awkward walking around outside the changeroom holding your wet things looking for a place to put them. I mean, it's not upsetting, just a little suggestion. This place should not be compared to any other as it sits in a class of its own in amenities and wonderful, wonderful staff. After that spoiling and treatment, for my afternoon I was checked into the quaint Dovekey cottage by a lovely, warm, friendly woman nMed Jennifer. As soon as I opened the door, I started a fire right away! I ordered the Hygge add on package which I highly recommend as the Tidal Bay wine was wonderful and all the gifts were lovely and it is so nice to walk into everything being there already for you! The cottage was adorable!!!!! The view of the ocean and the sounds of the waves were simply soul soothing. I loved all the antique furniture mixed with new. I loved that the fridge had milk and creamers instead of those little packets of coffee mate, it's a nice little touch. I ventured off to finish my night at the Rhubarb Restaurant which is a skip away on the property and was was equally as wonderful. Hot buffet breakfast was a great touch and I had a nice chat with the young lady that was on duty, Emily. She made me laugh as she regailed me with stories and it was nice to see our youth working so hard. Well done everyone! Thank you for making my birthday so rejuvenating and helping me to relax and sink in to a little slice of healing heaven.

My mom, brothers fiancé and myself spent the morning here and it was absolutely fantastic! AMAZING staff, all very friendly and accommodating. Not once did we feel like it was crowded. Very clean and provided us with everything we needed. Already can’t wait to go back! Only thing we missed that are at similar spas, was the facial bar! Other then that, this is now our go to spa :)

Easily, no question, better bang for your buck at Sensea Spa. This spa is about half the size, check-in direction could have been clearer… what bothered me the most was the very loud talking and laughing from other guests. When I brought to this attention of front staff after giving my input on the experience, the response was that talking was “not discouraged”. Now I understand talk at a low voice, whispering – sure. But what we dealt with was people coming in and out of the saunas laughing, yelling loudly, no respect for individuals around them. An experience to a hydrotherapy spa should be a place to relieve stress, relax, put your mind at ease – I felt absolutely none of that on my waste of a three hour stay. In fact, I felt tense and very disappointed after leaving. Needless to say, Oceanstone – do better. I will not be returning. 100% waste of money and absolutely do NOT recommend.

Tried out the new Thermal Spa! Overall it was very relaxing with some nice touches, including the free water / tea station and the robes that are included. They are media and device free which was really nice. We were also able to walk out to the beautiful beach. I wish there had been another cold pool. We love the resort, so next time we hope to be able to get a room and reservation at the restaurant!

We stayed here in February, so definitely didn’t get the full experience of the Oceanside resort. We stayed above the rhubarb restaurant. The room was very nice- tidy, well laid out and clean. It was pretty small though, and felt a bit like a nothin’ special hotel room. The cottages looked much nicer. If you were going for drinks because there’s an event, these rooms would be perfect!! The restaurant was really lovely! We went down for drinks in the evening (great service, and great drinks) and again for brunch (Sunday brunch- great again) The grounds I think have a lot of potential we didn’t get to fully experience - part of that is just Nova Scotia tourism in the winter. We also were there while it was under construction. Once construction is complete, we may return.

As wedding photographers in NS, we see A LOT of venues. But Oceanstone is by far one of our favourites! It's in a stunning location next to the ocean and near Peggy's Cove and Polly's Cove for extra portrait action, and it's legit the perfect size. There are beautiful little cottages you can rent for getting ready, and it's an amazing venue where you can have everything in one place and not worry about travel or accommodations. It's absolutely worth it and we love it every time we get to come back to shoot here. 10/10 recommend as your wedding venue!

Got married here last weekend and cannot compliment it enough. They made the planning so simple and all the food and accommodations were top notch. Would strongly recommend! We'll probably try staying here every year for our anniversary as well!

Really nice place to stay. Pricey. Loved the cabin at the end. Everything was great. Only comment I would have, is about breakfast. I found they really cut corners on breakfast. Juices are from a bottle. Syrup for pancakes were in a small plastic container, and it was Aunt Janina, not even maple syrup. The rest was ok, at best. Just expected a bit more for that pricetag. We usually made breakfast at the cabin, bought eggs etc. I would usually go in, grab a to-go container, grab a few things we wouldn't have at the cabin, and go back and eat breakfast on our deck.

We stayed in the captins house and wow what amazing views and quiet. The staff here where also amazing. Keep up the awesome service you provide. 1 thing I did notice is that the office was very hard to find for you initial first visit, but found out it was the big yellow building. Other then that amazing thank you

Beautiful spot..loved our stay. Only issue was the firepit at the Dovekey cottage where we stayed. It is way to close to the trees to safely have a fire. Trees need to be trimmed and you need to make the area bigger. We had a lovely stay though and will be back😊❤️

Amazing ocean view! We stayed in the ocean vista suite, private balcony and local wine and beer made our stay that much better. The suite itself was extremely clean and new looking. Easy check in/out is very convenient and the complimentary breakfast served buffet was delicious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating especially the lovely lady we had serving our breakfast. We had an amazing stay and we are looking forward to the next time we visit.

Attended a family wedding here. Gotta say it, wow! Property is spotless and well set up. As is common in smaller resorts there are differences between rooms and buildings. Our room was huge, many are smaller. All are comfortable. Food was outstanding. Service and staff were outstanding. The only complaint I heard was no hooks for the towels right beside the shower. That's enough to drop the rating, what, 0.01%? Lol. Highly recommended!

Exceptional resort. Honestly the best hospitality, views, food and comfort. Family of 8 stayed at the captains house, perfect size, great price point for the million dollar view. Will be going back for sure.

Our stay was great. Beds were comfy and room was immaculate. The complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The Rhubard Restaurant was fabulous. A great weekend away. Would definitely come here again.
