    After reading all the positive reviews we decided to book with IHG. We got the key to our room and were upset to see the beds looked slept in, one of the pillows had a red stain across it and the bathroom had hair inside of the sink along with pee all around the toilet. Ew! We informed the front desk however they didn’t seem concerned or apologetic. The manager came forward and was not too bothered by our complaint and seemed rather annoyed. She said she would change the sheets and clean the room. As a family of six, tired and hungry from a 10 hour plus drive, we waited in the lobby for the room to be cleaned. Well, it obviously wasn’t a priority as we waited about 30-45 minutes longer. The manager said she had yet to clean the room due to an issue with the pool as it was closed temporarily for guests. We went back to the room and all was changed and cleaned however the room was still dirty. The bathroom fan was full of dust, the counter all sticky, the fridge not only was dirty but broken and no freezer. Instead of sharing our concerns again we decided to clean it ourselves. Not something we planned on doing on vacation. The breakfast was okay and loved the coffee bar and hot chocolate for the kids. All in all very disappointed with IHG with not fulfilling your commitment to high levels of cleanliness and providing a service below your standards. You need to step it up and exceed your promise to provide a stay that cares about your guests well being and doing whatever it takes with making it right and following up with guests.

    Pretty good place. Just returned back after a week's stay. Staff is nice and accommodating. Hotel in clean. Nice options for breakfast. We were lucky we didn't loose power during Fiona Hurricane. If you are looking for a place bit far from city's hustle bustle- this one can suit your needs. I can go to this hotel again for my stays.

    I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean, with a breathtaking view of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting

    stayed overnight to celebrate my son’s 2nd birthday. we chose this hotel because of the pool and splash pad but we were not informed when we came there that the heated pool is not working like it’s freaking cold to swim that time it happened January 28-29, 2022. When we checked out I informed the receptionist about it and I was told that they were aware of it but the maintenance guy who can fix it couldn’t come to fix it because of the storm but they didn’t inform their guests before they checked in and I’m pretty sure that we were not the only customers/ family who were disappointed that time. I just wish that we could have just refunded our money, my son was crying the whole time we were in the hotel because he couldn’t use the pool and he was freezing 🥶 the first time he went there, we all expected that it was a heated pool but it turned out to be not!

    UPDATE BELOW. Idk. When the windows don't get a quick wipe when cleaning the room... It makes me question what other shortcuts are taken. I'll update the review once my stay is complete. UPDATE Overall this place is fine. It's quiet. Location is good. Parking is decent. Staff are friendly. But I have attached a few pics of items that have not been properly cleaned in months by the looks of the dust build up (above the bed rail and the bathroom fan). Attention to detail is a must when dealing with cleanliness and health and the pics shown are literally a 20 second wipe down. We will return and try it again. But for $250/night I would expect a cleaner room. I appreciate the response from the hotel. It's good to see follow up's.

    This is the best hotel. Very quiet area, close to all shopping, etc. We were very impressed with the very hard working, friendly staff. Free parking, free full breakfast, pet friendly, very super clean hotel. The housekeeping staff is awesome. The food preparers keep the eating areas clean while updating the food at the buffet table, at the same time. Fantastic!! What a fantastic team working here. I highly recommend this hotel for the cleanest, happiest stay. Steve G.

    Had a last-minute change in my reservation and the staff of the Holiday Inn Dartmouth was incredibly helpful and resourceful. Will definitely be coming back on my future stay in the city. Clean rooms, cute halloween decor.

    Excellent hotel in Dartmouth. Looks newly renovated with nice clean carpet and new bathroom fittings. Breakfast has a lot of options and despite being a very busy Thanksgiving weekend, the staff was very prompt in constantly replenishing breakfast items. The pancake machine is fun to watch as it makes and drops pancakes on your plate. Generous amounts of fruits , cereal, yogurts, eggs, milk, toasts, cinnamon rolls , sausage and bacon available. The gym is adequate for hotel stays and the pool with its water slide and buckets of water was a lot of fun for the kids. It was definitely a draw because it was always busy with kids in there. Rooms have a microwave , fridge and coffee maker which is very handy. Bathrooms have Dove lotion and soaps, loved that it had lotion because it seems a lot of hotels are doing away with that. The hotel is located next to the RBC centre and is very close to Ikea as well as Costco and lots of eating places. Not walking distance as such but a 5 minute drive away. Everything was top notch and if I'm ever back in the beautiful city of Halifax/ Dartmouth, I will be back here.

    Clean rooms, friendly staff. Appreciated the daily room tidy with towel refresh. That is rare these days. Our stay was during NAIG, so they were incredibly full and busy. They handled it all so well!

    Lynn at the front desk is THE MOST WONDERFUL person they could have chosen to be the face of this location. She went above and beyond for me and my boyfriend during an unusual situation. As a customer service representative myself, I understand the challenges working with the public includes but Lynn is a calm, patient, and infectiously optimistic. THANK YOU LYNN FOR BEING SO AMAZING!!

    Nice room & amenities no doubt! Night Crew from front desk seems to be very rude, not accommodating and absolutely passing ball to others for her responsibility. a) Requested for the wake-up call for the morning- Response was I have no time for that you can do from your phone in room. I totally get that could have been told in friendly manner b) Inquired about the possible extension due to flight cancellation, Response was I cannot do anything, you have to call morning crew after 7 am as I am just her for night. It looks like there are lots of stress for night crew to work.I have lots of respect for the people who work overnight specially in hotels like this.pls do not take this as complain but I have to be honest as how I feel about the situation. Thank you Amanda for the quick response and I was told by one of my friend that we will be able to extend until 2pm which was very nice and accommodating. All the reviews and stars were edited. I worked with multiple hotels for last 15 years so I understand how important those reviews are for the reputation of hotel. Once again for the nice, clean room.we shall be staying here again.

    Cancelling your clients rooms without their prior knowledge is definitely not cool. A hotel can cancel reservations that have been made but lead to poor reviews and customer loyalty. And it is commonly considered poor business practice. The representative lady at the front desk was however very accommodating in booking us our stays at the Best Western Hotel on spectacle Lake drive. That's almost like a Toyota dealership saying yeah sorry we sold the car that you had reserved, but we know of a couple of nice Hondas for sale down the street so you could probably go there and buy them instead. Let me just call them for you to make sure that that Honda is still for sale......

    Just stayed here 8-11SEP22 Great price point & value Super clean in & out Top-notch security & customer service 👏Thank you Kayla👏 Fantastic Hot breakfast & 24hrs coffee/tea bar. Rooms and overall facilities were impeccably clean and their Every staff member -even in passing- greeted us so warmly Wonderful that in-room toiletries were by Dove. Good location about 15mins away from downtown Halifax on otherwise of roll bridge. BTW, Toll costs $1.25 each way Highly recommend and DEF will be considering to stay again on next visit to Nova Scotia

    I was staying with my family (of 5, 2 seniors & 3 adults) & usually I'm the one sleeping on the pull out couch or roll away. We were warmly welcomed when we checked in & they provided complimentary coffee! Our room was spotless & the bathroom was spacious with complimentary Dove Shampoo, Conditioner, & Body Wash with a rain shower head & comfy soft towels. The pull out couch was the most comfortable pull out couch I've ever slept on! I had needed an extra pillow & blanket & the front desk brought them up to the room & the blanket was still toasty warm! The staff was very kind & accommodating! Breakfast was great & consisted of eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, a pancake machine with amazing pancakes, cereals, toast, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, juices, & milk along with coffee! Best Holiday Inn ive ever stayed at, highly highly recommend!

    Large room with great lighting, functional furniture and quiet and secure location (only guest have access to their individual floors). Breakfast was great and hotel had options as Keureg coffe maker in the lobby. Staff was helpful and very easy to deal with. Bathroom was spacious and very functional.

    Staff was great. Hotel is beautiful. Pool area is a treat for younger kids, like mine 3 & 5. Splash pad area was perfect for em. Breakfast was lovely quality. Would stay here again for sure.

    My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The hotel seems very well designed in a very simple straightforward way. Not fancy, but well maintained. Staff was helpful and friendly. We would stay again.

    My husband and I got stuck in Halifax for a night and stayed here. We were quite happy with the stay. It’s pretty basic and for sure a lower-end stay but it was more than sufficient. The hotel is new so it all was pretty clean. There was a coffee & tea station available at all times & a breakfast buffet in the morning. There is a mini water park feature in the pool area as well, super fun. Overall I would say the cost & presented experience line-up well with what you get.

    Great stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly at check in and check out. The room itself was spacious and had all of the usual compliments. The wifi was good. The breakfast was well organized and had a good selection of food. The fitness centre and pool were very clean. The pool has a nice play area for the children. Parking was free and ample. Room key required for accessing guest rooms was a nice security measure.

    EXCELLENT PLACE!!! I went swimming for 2 damn hours i’ll tell you that now, slide+pool was very fun. The fitness room was great, had everything I would need if I actually did workout. These are all very great part but my all time favourite was waking up with BACON,OMELETTES,EGGS,PANCAKES and a damn cinnamon roll. BLESS YOUR SOUL TO THE CHEF! The food filled me with happiness. Room was very clean and used DOVE for body and hair wash which I enjoyed. Will DEFINITELY be staying there again. Great place 10/10

    Two issues made this an unfavorable stay. 1. Our 2 rooms were not ready when we arrived for check in at 3pm and were told 5-10 minutes until they’d be ready but they weren’t ready until 5pm. 2. We requested 3 cribs when I made the reservation and were told they may not be able to accommodate 3 but could guarantee 2 (no problem). There were no cribs in the rooms when we arrived and I had to make 3 calls to the front desk for 1 to be delivered. Each call I made to the front desk was someone who wasn’t aware of the situation. Very frustrating when trying to get the kids to bed on time. I will say the staff was incredible dealing with so many unhappy people trying to check in and not having rooms ready.
