The Bell Memorial Tower monument for the Halifax Explosion is beautiful and impressive. The entire city of Halifax was destroyed in the blast of the two ships in 1918 and this area of Halifax was hit especially hard, being the nearest to this ships’ collision. The bells chime on the anniversary and it is beautiful. Located inside Needham Pak, it is one of the things that makes this park so special.

Beautiful park full of playground equipment for kids, space for pets, and deets about the Halifax Explosion for historically curious adults. Must see for locals and visitors.

A Grand tribute to a solemn event. The Bells are supposed to ring hourly but I couldn't hear them throughout the city. Despite being locating in the HydroStone District on Fort Needham Hill, one of the highest points in Halifax, the trees have, unfortunately, grown quite high which limits the views from the memorial. It is recommended to visit the lightshow at Dusk! There is plenty available in the area, such as public washrooms and an off-leash dog park. Nearby is the Africville museum and Fairview Cemetary with Halifax Harbour explosion victims and Titanic voyager graves.

The tower is in a very nice place to go for a walk, take your dog, or play sports. It has a few access points and a small parking lot. But street parking is also available within couple minutes. The park is in the heart of the city and is surrounded by lots of houses and streets.

Spacious and peaceful park. It preserves the history of Halifax. Do not come up from the shipyard, the slope is dreadful.

Great open park with several structures, erected in 1985, to commemorate the 1917 explosion. There's plenty of stairs to get to it from the parking lot; or you can take a steeper hike from the north.

Beautiful urban park dedicated to those lost in the largest non nuclear explosion in human history in 1917.

This is one of my favorite parks in Halifax. The memorial monument, along with all of the other little commemorative touches, are all executed extremely well. Genuinely impressive attention to detail. There are also clean public washrooms, a sports field, and a very nice little playground. This is a great place to come if you want to play fetch with your pup, or throw a frisbee around. It's also a fantastic picnic park. If you live in Halifax, or if you're just visiting, I highly recommend you pick up some snacks from Julien's or Lemonade in the Hydrostone, take a nice stroll through the park, and enjoy your meal, over one of the best views of the harbour in the city.

Silent place, peaceful and pay more your attention on the big explosion history. When the bells ring on, may you can think about how much strong this city is.

Nice site. Great park space and free parking. My only complaint is that the city has stopped clearing the trees from the path leading towards the explosion location at Pier 6.
