Going to the Como Zoo every summer has become a family tradition. There is always something new to see, you still have to book your tickets online.

Had a great time at the zoo and conservatory. Even when it's cold outside, the zoo still has lots to offer and was awesome for us and our kids. The conservatory was gorgeous as always and even though I don't have a green thumb, it makes me want to put a jungle in my house, haha.

Como park is a perfect place to walk, run, bike, sit, picnic, and play. The park not only has plenty of paved trails, it’s also home to the Como Zoo, Como Conservatory, Lake Como, baseball courts, playgrounds, and a pavilion. Food, drinks, beer and wine are available at the pavilion (hours vary by season). The Zoo and Conservatory are free with donations accepted.

Beautiful park! I loved visiting. There were lots of animals, rides and gardens! The Japanese garden was my favorite. It was so peaceful and nice to stroll through.

This is a great place to enjoy nature year round. Tickets are required ti be reserved online before your visit. Masks are required. Staying in the one way path is required. Its still a nice place to get out to.

Como is a great family outing. It's free, but you can make a donation or sponsor a garden or animal. The animals all seem pretty happy and well taken care of. Plenty of parking and the staff seek very nice, as well.

One of the best parks in Minnesota. The zoo is pretty good and kids will love it. The walking/running paths are awesome. The botanical garden with different trees takes your breath away. I highly recommend people to please donate to this place as the staff and management is doing an amazing job of keeping this place clean and neat.

Such a beautiful place, even in the winter we had a great time. You don't get too cold because a lot of the animals are indoors.

This was actually my first visit to the park . Quite a fun hectic day with my little ones. The Como zoo was funny with the monkeys giving us a little show. I recommend this to anyone.

Como zoo and Como regional Park are places that bring back lots of memories for me as a kid going there as an adult. Most of the buildings in the zoo have not changed in 20 plus years. The only thing that's really changed is probably the animals, people and the rides at the kids. Midway. But not Sparky the seal, he has always been there since day one and always will be alive! Lol. I strongly would suggest going back if you're a local and you went as you were a kid. It brings back lots of memories and is very nostalgic , as well as creating new ones for your own little ones. It is pretty cool how they revamped the Sparky the seals stage amphitheater is probably the newest addition that I noticed. As well as creating an experience for you to walk underneath and see the seals in their underwater habitat, just like the polar bears.

Nice park with paved trails and a lake. The hamm waterfall isn't always running, as it is a not a natural waterfall. Como zoo is nearby and free.

Making your online reservations is easy although it is so popular that it is often book several days out we had a great time even though they had converted to a one-way pass but it was easy to social distance and oftentimes we were the only people in sight which made several animal extremely happy like watching the tigers swim the first time ever I have seen him swim! the poor polar bear looks a little sad though after having his friend euthanized just a week earlier😢 other animals that were entertaining were the arctic foxes who came up to the fence and played with the kids as if they were actual dogs and the mountain lions were extremely close to the fence as well which was another first😊 we were not able to see the Timberwolves because of the one-way route but overall had more attractions open then the Minnesota Zoo

Went on a Monday morning in December. Flowers were in bloom, animals were active and volunteers were many and informative. The sea lion training was interesting and the 5 week old baby giraffe was darling. Very nice zoo with lots of upgrades since I was there last. Plenty of parking and no admission fee were the topping on the cake.

Been coming to this zoo for 55+ years. Always love to see the animals. The baby giraffe Zinnia was so 🥰 cute! Not as much to see this time of year in December. The weather was nice and we had a good time just walking around the zoo.

I took my 6-year-old here last week. We reserved the 10:00 a.m. slot on a Sunday. It was really fun to see all the attractions and given the weather nice to see the conservatory with the high humidity. It makes you feel like you're in a tropical climate for a little bit at least. My six-year-old also enjoys the kid playroom being open again he loves playing with the waterfall/rain feature. Parking is usually pretty easy when it is not insanely busy and having to reserve times to go actually is better in my opinion. I definitely recommend those two visit the Como Zoo.

One of the funnest things we did on our short trip to the area. The free entrance (donations are an option) was a pleasant surprise as well

It's a free zoo, great in the summer but it's pretty plain if you go in the off season. I went 2 weeks ago and all the outside vendors and rides were closed. A little early in my opinion.

This is a wonderful place to visit with family. Three green houses with beautiful plants, flowers and other surprises. Great selection of animals. My favorite was the ape house. Free entry with a suggested donation. Well worth it.

Como is a pretty lovely place. The zoo is well kept. The conservatory is the highlight for me though, every time. Along with the Japanese gardens. It really is a treat and a treasure that this place is able to remain open and free of cost to visitors. If you're able to afford a few dollar donation please do to help this lovely place maintain it's free status.

Small zoo, but I highly recommend taking a look. Made quite a few fun memories. I don't think there's any admission fees, so definitely worth taking a look.

I'm sure this was a really nice zoo at one point. Maybe it's just because of covid, but there weren't many redeeming qualities during my visit. The lion(s) were MIA, literally not even in the enclosure. No birds to speak of besides the ducks and flamingos. The Japanese Garden and conservatory were inviting. The tiger needs a friend; he was pacing and bored. 🥺

Great place to bring the kids. We packed our own lunch so we didn't need to pay the high prices of food. The animals seemed happy and well fed. The bathrooms however were very in nasty and inside all the buildings was extremely hot. No AC on a 90degree day. I left feeling like I had heat stroke.

Such a fun place- they now require a reservation online but we were able to do that standing at the gate so it was not a huge deal, and you can donate online now during the reservation process so it's easy and cashless (they still take cash too). Parking can be a bit of a hassle but there is overflow. Huge variety of animals, fun way to spend an afternoon!

Wow this place is incredible! First off, it was free which was a nice surprise. The entire place is very clean. The animals and exhibits are very interesting and also have an interactive section for children. The plant garden was phenomenal. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go to the amusement rides.

  • 5/5 Kris K. 10 months ago on Google
Small zoo but very nice. The lions were very active and roaring which you could hear throughout the park. The Conservatorium had many plant species including bonsai . I recommend visiting the park.

One of the best parks in the city. Miles of walking trails, live music, paddle boarding, dog walking, bike riding, and picnic spots. Beautiful year round.

I met 2 different Nephews and their young Families at the Conservatory. It was great. The Adults loved the plants, flowers & creatures as much as the Kids! Felt so good to be in the Humidity. Highly recommend as a Family adventure. They all also enjoyed the Zoo.

It's my new favorite zoo. It's the perfect size. Love how you walk in and immediately you see the gorillas. From there it's nonstop animals. Polar Bears were awesome. The Giraffe's you could feed. The huge Bison. The Penguins were cool. We all enjoyed t he Sparky show. Not a huge zoo but so well done. We loved the little Como Town amusement park too. Como Zoo is a must see.

Wow! Never been here, but had 2 kids (11 & 15) in tow and wanted to find something fun before heading back home to central WI. They LOVED it! Nice animal enclosures, beautiful plants and little surprises inside the exhibits. Admission is a donation, but not even required if you need a free activity. Definitely going back in the summer time to see this place in all it's glory. 👍👍

  • 5/5 Tom T. 1 year ago on Google
Very good public city park, zoo and garden. It has polar bear, sea lion, gorilla and many more animals to see. There are also a bunch of impressive in house gardens , from tropical to Mediterranean and Japanese. Great place. Really worth a visit. Totally free.

I bring out of town guests here regularly to show off. In my opinion, the Sunken Garden is the most beautiful room in the Midwest. There's also a peaceful sense throughout the conservatory, especially on a winter weekday morning, of visitors seeking refuge, calm, and moisture.

  • 5/5 Amy S. 1 year ago on Google
We got there shortly after they opened. It was not crowded. Since it was an overcast weekday in early April in Minnesota, it was a breeze to find parking. (That is not the norm, especially in warmer months.) A lot of the animals were up and active. And the conservatory was beautiful! I loved seeing the orchids and the tulips, daffodils, foxglove and all the other spring flowers. We did get QUITE warm in there since we still had our warm outerwear for the Minnesota weather on.

Beautiful! FYI on Thursday morning parents and preschoolers can come for activities in the hallway. Looked like a lot of fun. Not an issue at all, but the parking lot was full before 10. It was quiet in the plant area

My son had a field trip with his class to Como last week. The kids had an awesome time seeing the animals. The Sparky show wasn't anything special but provided a little entertainment and the new amphitheatre looks amazing! There are plenty of animals to see and I live that it's still entrance by donation only.

We had a company picnic in the pavilion. Very nice outside facility. Catering was quick to replenish food that was almost gone. Employees at the bar were very friendly and helpful. The food was good but the brownies took the prize!

We spent a nice afternoon walking around the park. Most of the area has tree coverage so even though it was a hot day, we were able to stay relatively cool. We weren't able to visit the Conservatory because they are only doing appointments due to COVID. I recommend checking the website for available times is you plan on doing that.

I love Como Park. Buy tickets in advance and easy to get in. It's all guided so you just follow the ropes. Same great experience, same great animals. I just wish the Sloth would have been awake. Lol

  • 1/5 Music L. 3 years ago on Google
The animals all looked so sad and depressed. The animals spaces are cramped and small, a fraction of what their natural habitat would be. The variety and types of animals have no business being here. It's just too small of a space for their mental well being. The rest of the park is nice, the conservatory is a nice break, and the amusement park is a great fit for the community.
