I've driven past this establishment for many years, but never took the chance to try it out. I had the fortunate opportunity to do that this past weekend, and I am so glad I did! The food was top notch. It was flavorful, a large portion size, and a reasonable price. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made our visit very enjoyable. I look forward to my next visit to The Buckboard Restaurant!

The Buckboard is quite the place. The food is very good. This is a breakfast lunch place. The atmosphere is what one would expect for an establishment named Buckboard, meaning low key understated. And that is what makes this nice. You get a lot of good food in a short time if you are on the go. This is a working person's place.

Pretty good food, decent service, in an old greasy spoon restaurant. I had a Vegetable omelette, price wasn’t too bad, I think $13 or so. However I had a side of bacon an coffee, for a grand total of $26. I can only imagine, $3 coffee, and $10 bacon???!!!! Are you kidding me!!! The bacon 🥓 wasn’t that good and neither was the coffee.

Food is great and servers are so friendly and nice; price is ok for a small local diner.

On our way out of Minneapolis, we decided to stop for breakfast and found this place. It was around a 20 minute wait but worth it. It was incredibly busy and a little overwhelming but that’s how you know it’s gooooood. The prices were low and the food was great. I will say that the eggs and the hashbrowns were lacking salt or seasoning really, but that’s okay because you can salt and pepper to your liking. The ham was super flavorful and the pancakes were addicting. I enjoyed a basic cup of coffee for the first time in a long time. My boyfriend got a skillet which he was raving about for the next hour. Our sever was an absolute sweetheart. Don’t sleep on this place. Super cute little diner. We will be back next time we’re in town!

Amazing food, we had the biscuits and gravy, French toast, chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns and English muffin. It was all 5 stars, we will definitely be back and make this a on going tradition for breakfast.

We hadn't been here in about 15 years, it is still the same classic diner it always was. Huge portions, delicious food and very friendly employees. There are no foo-foo drinks or skinny-jean hipsters here, just hometown people.

Would've given an average 3 stars cause the food was OK but it's as noisy as a college bar. Lotta shouting, banging, and pounding. I just wanted to relax n enjoy my coffee after my meal n couldn't do that... felt like I was getting PTSD with the noise problem. Also felt very rushed... waitress immediately gave me a bill with my order.

Great food, great service. First time eating there and had a really good time. It was very busy but felt like the staff really cares about their customers. I will definitely go back there in the future

What a great spot! Small and cozy diner atmosphere with super friendly and attentive waitstaff. Food was fantastic: big servings! Even the kid’s hamburger was huge! Highly recommend.

We pulled in and the place was packed, which was a good sign! Perfect timing as a table just became available to accommodate our party. The food was delicious, remained hot, and the servings were big. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're anywhere in the area!

Pretty decent food, got a lot of food for a good price. It was pretty tasty and came out nice and fresh and warm. EXCELLENT service from everyone especially from one of the bus boys Keegan, had a lot of hustle and he was kind and respectful. Would definitely come again.

The food here is top tier homestyle, excellent service whenever we come here, the old-fashioned hamburger steak meal is my go to with a pancake on the side, we usually come for breakfast and we are never disappointed or hungry when we leave, thank you buckboard!!!

The food and service was great, but it was very crowded and was a long wait to get in. It was also very warm inside as if the air conditioning was not operating properly. Would definitely stop in if back in the area.

Very nice diner feel to this little restaurant. Food was excellent and the serving size was a nice amount of food. The pancakes are very hearty and delicious. The only issue was with the coffee. It was extremely watered down/bitter. Not a good cup of coffee at all. Service was on point and very prompt. Food came out very quick. Pricing seemed a little higher but this was definitely quality food. Eggs were real eggs (scrambled) so that was a nice change from other places that seem to use liquid eggs or powder. Overall, a very nice, quaint restaurant with a small town, diner feel. Will be back sometime in the future.

My wife and I grabbed breakfast here last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. She had eggs, bacon, and pancakes while I had an omelet. The food was delicious, the waitress was on her game, and the staff was very friendly and appreciated our business.

Spectacular, hot food. Few places can do a hot turkey sandwich well. They are usually too salty. This was perfect. My husband's omelet was good also. Service was extremely fast in a very busy place. Highly recommend.

I ordered hash browns and corned beef and 3 eggs w/toast. I don't think they used real butter, and I wanted the hash and corned beef cooked extra crisp. It wasn't. The eggs were cooked correctly tho. Standard old-timer garbage coffee.

If you want down home cooking, this is the place! The food was excellent and the proportions were big. I will be going back differently.

When I saw "best breakfast around" from another review, I had high expectations. They weren't met. It's breakfast, it's basic, its good. Its truck stop, Dennys type breakfast. It's a small business, so I'm happy to patronize this place. The staff were all incredibly nice, and there was a great vibe from them. Very down to earth people and good service. If don't go in thinking it'll be the best breakfast you've ever had, you should leave satisfied.

Breakfast was very good. I was able to get just egg whites with no upcharge. Kids' meals were great. We were offered whipped cream for my son's pancake. When he turned it down, we got the option for my daughter to have some whipped cream on the side with the eggs and sausage meal, which was a nice consideration. The kids also got to pick out a couple stickers from a container when we were leaving.

Good food. Good portion sizes. Good service. Good flavor. I would definitely come back. Nice little hole in the wall spot with great breakfast food.

Great little gem! Smaller quaint place with fantastic food. I ordered the Denver omelet with hashbrowns. The veggies were fresh and vibrant and the portions were huge. Only downside is that hashbrowns cost extra with the omelets. Coffee was kept topped off so I never ran out. Staff was very attentive to our needs and keeping tables clean. I will definitely be back!

A quaint “mom and pop” diner with an extensive menu, HUGE portions, and reasonable prices. Our waitress was attentive even though it was busy. Food came out quickly, hot and so delicious! Something for everyone on the menu!

By far a great place to eat if you're ever in Minnesota! The owner is so cool & he knows his food. The servers Monica/Rena, look for them, they're a gem to serve you.

First time here was Saturday July 23rd for breakfast. My wife and I ordered coffee and a breakfast skillet each. She had the garbage skillet and I had the farmer’s skillet. Portion sizes were enough for two meals and was absolutely delicious. One of the best breakfast places we have ever been too. We proceeded to order the same meal the following morning as well! Thank you for the great experience!

Charming little place for breakfast (or lunch). Food is great and portions are huge! Service is wonderful too! Plus it's a Poke Stop!
