Beautiful park and our site was perfectly hidden under the trees in the back. I would’ve gave 5 stars but no beach or swimming area for kids was a huge downfall, especially during these 90* summer days. The lake was nice but you can’t swim in it, snakes and signs posted saying no swimming. The pit bathrooms also had no privacy which was uncomfortable for my teen daughter.

This is a hidden gem in Oakland County with 734 pristine acres. We love how the county is protecting the wildlife and the forest. Walking and biking trails, fishing, birding, jungle gyms for the kids. We saw snapping turtles laying their eggs near the trail. Spectacular setting. The grounds and bathrooms are immaculate.

Great park for a day trip or camping. Took the kayaks out on the lake for the day and caught four bass between two of us. Nice fishing dock if you’re not able to get out on the water. The park also has a 2.5 mile paved trail for running, walking or biking. Beautiful place to spend a day or weekend.

Beautiful park and campground! We loved the disc golf course, the playground and biking trails. Modern restrooms are clean and campsites are a nice size. Loved the open spaces.

We stayed in one of the two yurts at this campground. It was spacious and comfortable. AC was a plus since it was raining and muggy outside. 4 min walk to the restrooms and showers (all well maintained). Nice pavilions for events. I loved the walking paths and playgrounds. Wish there was some swimming options for the kids. Because of this, I’m not sure if we’ll return to this location but Oakland County has some great locations.

We camped here in our camper May 19-21. This park is amazingly beautiful, peaceful and has so many things to do. We enjoyed our 2.5 mile walk around the paved path, saw deer, cooked our meals on our outdoor griddle, got to enjoy nature for a couple of days and enjoyed it so much we booked two more weekends! One can kayak, bicycle or walk and even bring you dog with you to enjoy the Campground. It isn't too far away from downtown Rochester, MI if one wants to venture out for an evening. It was also nice to see a consistent police presence driving through the park while we were there. Highly recommend this Campground.

Nice hike around the Buhl Lake Loop. Took about an hour for the 2.5 miles, stopping to watch nature. Paved path the whole loop. Not real busy for a Saturday afternoon.

This is a nice, clean campground. It's a quieter campground. They do have some activities that were fun- magician, face painting, crafts for kids etc. Nice paved walking trails. Playgrounds were clean and plenty of equipment. Bathrooms were clean. The only downside is that there is no swimming at the lake. That was a little disappointing. I would recommend for spring or fall camping.

What a gem of a park. Sites are big with 2 designated parking spots for each site. There are trees scattered through sites but plenty of open area for solar and starlink. Lots of trails a really nice paved trail for younger kids. Lake for fishing they have boat and bike rentals available. The roads are gravel giving the feel that your out in the country camping. Plenty of activities for the kids 2 different playgrounds. Very quiet and enjoyable for just couples. The drive in takes maybe 10 minutes but there is a gas station and small grocery store that sells liquor 2.5 miles away. Lots of deer and other wildlife to view. There are paved sites and gravel sites available.

OK, not really the parks fault but OAKLAND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. However, it drastically impacts your stay. I stayed 30 days. Park was beautiful, with lots of interaction from deer, trails to walk, trees and had something I hadn't seen before, a wheelchair assisted kayak launch. The campground road is looong, but don't even think about going over 15 mph, the cop hides and will give you a warning.( I was going 20mph). It's peaceful and the staff were very accommodating. They even called when bad weather conditions were predicted. Any loud noise was quickly addressed. Calls requesting assistance were answered immediately. Cons After being in the park 30 days, the dump station had no way to hook up a black hose to clean out my tank. See pic for the nozzle. There is no fresh water hookups in the individual sites that I was at and one freshwater hook up about 75 ft away from the dump station. When I contacted staff, they said it was the health department that has not allowed them to use the non-potable water to be able to hook up to a hose. I did share my concern and unfortunately there was nothing they could do. For that and only that reason I would not be back.
