We decided not to rent with Lakewood Manor, because of what is advertise online is not the same in person. It is a big community, with split locations. They also remodel an old motel to apartments (like 500 sq ft apt) Parking is limited, however they took over the street cleaning with the city of Lakewood, you can see AMC employees going around with broom and dustpan. Extra parking is available for a fee. I did notice many gates stay open during the day. I left my ID to tour the apartment, and when I came back from tour, the agent couldn't find my ID. She had left it on the keyboard of her computer for anyone to grab, and someone put it away, with out a note. The apartments adjacent to the leasing office are the pictures shown online. Across the street is the other half. On the opposite back corner is the 3rd building and are the ones that offer a patio option only. And the 4th building on Olivia Ave is the remodel Motel. I could imagine attending to all tenant needs in a timely manner as an issue. Location: next to a mall, church/school and many restaurants. It was not the right fit for us, so I hope my notes can help narrow your decision.

I came home from work one day to find a chemical danger sign on my door stating do not enter for a certain number of hours. They sent an exterminator into our home without notifying us. We had pet birds in our house that were exposed to the chemicals. I called to find out why our house was sprayed and was told the vendor went into the wrong apartment. When you opened my door for him and saw live animals, why did you allow him to enter. They had no answer. I requested copies of the SDS chemical information sheets and had to explain what they were and that legally they had to give me copies. I sent the SDS forms to our avian veterinarian and take my birds to the emergency vet in Culver City. I could have sued them, but instead I told them I would not be renewing my lease and would be leaving at the end of it. I left at the end of my lease and they tried to charge me an additional months rent. In the five years I lived there, including the time of the pandemic, I was never one day late with my rent. I never missed a month. These people are money grubbing thieves. UPDATE!!!! When I called the number they provided me below ? They had no idea what to do and they asked me to call the corporate office , and they asked the manger to call me , BTW THE MANGER IS A JOKE AND A COMPLETE IDIOT , He said there’s nothing we can do This update is to make everyone aware that when they respond to any negative review by asking you to call ? doesn’t mean it’s solved

Let’s get into this. I lived here for 1 1/2 years, just moved away, and my life has improved dramatically since then. - I’m a Marine Corps Veteran and the barracks were better put together than Lakewood Manor Apartments. - They continued to raise my rent every chance they got before addressing concerns of noisy neighbors/harassment/any maintenance requests I had placed. - I reached out for over a year to resolve issues within the apartments and I was always met with push back, this company does not care for your mental well-being, they will make that known. - The amenities are garbage, there’s a waitlist for parking spots, and the laundry rooms hardly have any appliances that actually work. - Managers trash talk tenants and other leasers, even their working environment is toxic. - Security is hardly responsive or competent. - I left the place spotless and was still charged over $200 for “paint”. Attached a photo below of the day I moved out. - The only saving grace is the staff that cleans in the morning, they are the kindest and hardest working people I’ve met on site. Overall, Lakewood Manor shouldn’t even be your last choice in searching for a place to call home. I’d like to add that if management comments under this review with backhanded reconciliation, no one cares. Do yourself a favor— look literally anywhere else. Park Del Amo is a wonderful choice nearby if you’re adamant about Lakewood.

I lived here for five years. I saw the negative reviews, but didn’t think much of it. People are more likely to review when things are negative. I should have heeded the warnings of past tenants. The rent was raised every year. During Covid, we were only offered $100 discount for three months. Workers accidentally entered the apartment when we were not home. The laundry rooms were never maintained or cleaned. Some days they were not opened. People would park in my assigned parking spot and management would not move them. There was a constant ant problem. The security gates rarely worked. It was unsafe. Do not move into these apartment , Lakewood Manor has stolen enough of my time and energy

Don't waste your time living here. They are overcharging for what you get. Floors/walls are thin, roaches, mold, constant car break-ins on Hayter Ave, and the parking nightmare that is Hayter Ave. Not enough laundry facilities for everyone and machines go down very often. Don't pay the "living by the mall" tax, it's not worth it, especially since they raise rent every year. Edit: They replied to my review faster than they respond to maintenance requests.

If I could give 0 stars I would, most awful ground keeping, guy(really short guy works courtyard across leasing office) that supposedly keeps area clean, does an awful job about it, Courtyard always dirty, water fountains always dirty and broken,... our cars are always broken into no security cameras or protection, they only hire one guy to patrol 3 blocks of Lakewood manor apartments, in which he leaves at 3am then all hell brakes loose. Don't bring nice appliances, they will be filled by hundreds of roaches, their fumigation protocol is awful. When you sign the lease it states no vicious breeds, but obviously not true there are more pit bulls than any type of breed. I can go on and on to much to mention. OH BY THE WAY ONLY 1 WASHING MACHINE PER 16 APARTMENTS, because the other is always broken!!!!

This place has roaches! Every apartment complex, not one building, ALL the buildings. I viewed a few empty units and you can see roach droppings. This lets you know they are infested! The “new” community director Adrianna Ballesteros does not know how to treat people or tenants. She’s racist! I was sitting in the leasing lobby and she didn’t know I walked in. I heard her calling one of the tenants racial names to the other woman in the office. The employees in the office look miserable no one smiles or acknowledges you exist as I wanted for someone to help me. Glad I never moved in to this dump.

From my own experienced. They will tell you anything to convince you and nothing that will sway you away at first. Go somewhere else where they are honest. Want reasons to not live here? Just read everyone else. DON'T SAY YOU WEREN"T WARNED.
